What the 2024 rumor actually claimed
TopSpeed published the rumor on December 2, 2024, saying it stemmed from Harley-Davidson patent filings in Europe. The article interpreted that activity as pointing toward a possible Street Glide Ultra, an “Ultra” configuration associated with long-distance equipment such as Tour-Pak luggage and passenger-comfort features. It discussed possible equipment and arrival timing as expectations, not established specifications or a confirmed launch date. TopSpeed’s December 2024 report is evidence of what was speculated; it does not establish that the filings themselves confirmed those details.
What Harley-Davidson later confirmed
Harley-Davidson’s 2025 annual filing identifies the Street Glide Ultra as a new, fully equipped long-haul Touring model. How that differs from the 2026 touring lineup
Harley-Davidson announced the 2026 Street Glide Limited and Road Glide Limited on January 14, 2026. They are distinct model-year offerings, not alternate names for the 2025 Street Glide Ultra. The company positions both Limited models for riders and passengers prioritizing luxury, performance and long-haul comfort. Its 2026 U.S. model lineup lists both at starting prices of $32,999.

What Harley-Davidson says the 2026 Limited models include
Both models use the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 powertrain, redesigned Grand Tour-Pak luggage and Rockford Fosgate audio. The company lists a 12.3-inch color touchscreen, dual-zone heated rider and passenger seat, heated handgrips, a taller clear touring windshield, adjustable airflow features and highway footpegs. Engine figures and comparison
Harley-Davidson specifies 131 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm and 106 horsepower at 4,600 rpm for the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117. The company says this engine delivers 7.4% more torque and 14.0% more horsepower than the Twin Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 114 used in 2024 Grand American Touring models. That comparison is specifically against the 2024 114, not every earlier Harley-Davidson touring engine.
Manufacturer-reported weight comparisons

What a prospective buyer can take from the story
The rumor is useful as a record of how speculation preceded the 2025 Street Glide Ultra, but it should not be read as a current product announcement. For a U.S. shopper comparing the two named 2026 Limited bikes, the published starting prices match; the clearest stated distinction is the fairing design. The equipment and performance figures above come from Harley-Davidson, and no independent road-test findings are established here.
