A 1964 Ferrari 250 LM, chassis 6053, won The Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award 2024. The result was announced at The Peninsula Paris on 3 February 2025. The annual award brings together winners of major concours events; it is not a formally sanctioned world championship.
What the award recognizes
The Peninsula Classics Best of the Best Award selects a winner from cars that have already won major concours events. The 2024 edition was the award’s 10th annual presentation. The Peninsula announced nine finalists on 8 January 2025, with the winner to be named at The Peninsula Paris on 3 February. The winning Ferrari was later scheduled for display at Rétromobile from 5 to 9 February 2025; those dates have passed.
The result was confirmed by The Peninsula’s 3 February 2025 announcement. The organizer’s 8 January 2025 finalist announcement gives the candidate list and event schedule.
Why the 1964 Ferrari 250 LM won
The specific car
The award went to a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM, chassis 6053, designed by Pininfarina and bodied by Scaglietti. The Peninsula says Ferrari produced 32 examples of the 250 LM model; that is the production total, not a count of surviving cars. The award announcement does not publish a common scoring rubric or scores for the finalists, so it does not establish a specific judging formula behind the selection.

Engineering and model history
The 250 LM was a Grand Touring development of Ferrari’s mid-engined 250 P. Ferrari unveiled it in Paris in November 1963 and intended it to replace the 250 GTO. Ferrari did not obtain LM approval in the GT class, but a 250 LM won the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 1965 International Trophy for GT Prototypes.
The Peninsula lists the winning example with a 3,285 cc, 12-cylinder engine, a single overhead camshaft and two valves per cylinder. Output is stated as 320 bhp at 7,700 rpm, with a five-speed manual gearbox. These are the specifications published for the award-winning example.

This chassis’s racing record
Chassis 6053 has its own competition history, distinct from the model-level victories. It raced from 1965 to 1967 and recorded notable wins at Brands Hatch, Snetterton and Silverstone in 1966. It also competed in the 1966 24 Hours of Daytona and the 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Peninsula says the current owner acquired the car in 2018. It was displayed at the Enzo Ferrari Museum in 2022 and at Casa Ferrari at Pebble Beach in 2024.
