For model year 2026, the Cars.com assembly-location overview lists vehicles sold in the U.S. with final assembly in Mexico, Canada or China. The list below is a model-level snapshot, not a guarantee about a particular car: several nameplates are assembled in multiple countries, and the underlying coverage has exclusions.
Which U.S.-market vehicles are listed as assembled in Mexico, Canada or China for 2026?
The following model names and country labels come from Cars.com’s model-year 2026 overview. A multi-country entry means that the nameplate is assembled in more than one country; it does not identify where every U.S.-market vehicle of that model was built.
| Listed final-assembly country or countries | 2026 models |
|---|---|
| Mexico | Cadillac Optiq; Chevrolet Blazer, Blazer EV, Equinox and Equinox EV; Ford Bronco Sport, Maverick and Mustang Mach-E; GMC Terrain; Honda HR-V and Prologue; Kia K4; Nissan Kicks and Sentra; Toyota Tacoma; Volkswagen Jetta, Jetta GLI, Taos and Tiguan. |
| Canada | Chrysler Pacifica; Dodge Charger and Charger Daytona; Honda CR-V; some Honda Civic variants; Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500 and 3500, with countries varying by variant; Lexus NX 250, NX 350, NX 350h and RX 350; Lexus RX 350h and RX 500h. |
| China | Buick Envision; Lincoln Nautilus; Polestar 4. |
| Canada, Mexico and the U.S. | Chevrolet Silverado 1500. |
| Mexico and the U.S. | GMC Sierra 1500. |
| Canada, Japan and the U.S. | Some Honda Civic variants. |
| Canada and Japan | Lexus NX 250, NX 350, NX 350h and RX 350. |
| Canada | Lexus RX 350h and RX 500h. |
Some entries appear in more than one row because the source assigns more than one assembly country to those models or variants. In particular, it lists Silverado 1500 in Canada, Mexico and the U.S., and Sierra 1500 in Mexico and the U.S. Its entries for some Civic variants and several Lexus models also include multiple countries.
How can you check where a specific car was assembled?
Check the window sticker for the exact vehicle, rather than relying on a model-level list. The Cars.com 2025 overview also recommends this check because a nameplate may be assembled in multiple countries. A dealer’s inventory can include vehicles built at different plants, so the model name alone does not settle the question.

How complete is the 2026 list?
Cars.com says its 2026 data is based primarily on American Automobile Labeling Act (AALA) reporting. AALA reporting covers final assembly for light-duty vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 10,000 pounds. Cars.com notes that heavy-duty pickups, low-sales exotics, and commercial and government fleet vehicles fall outside that dataset, although it attempted to fill relevant gaps where possible. Treat the list as a useful snapshot, not a definitive census of every vehicle sold in the U.S.

Assembly lists are model-year-specific. For example, Cars.com’s March 27, 2025 overview, based primarily on MY2025 AALA reporting, included the Ford Bronco Sport, Ford Maverick, Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Sentra among Mexico-assembled models; the Honda Civic and CR-V among Canada-assembled models; and the Lincoln Nautilus and Polestar 2 among China-assembled models. Those are MY2025 examples, not a substitute for the 2026 snapshot above.

Final assembly is also only one part of a vehicle’s origin information. Kogod’s 2025 index describes label data points for U.S. and Canadian content percentage, engine and transmission, assembly location, and the source of the engine and transmission. Assembly country by itself therefore does not tell you the vehicle’s domestic parts content.
