After Fisker entered bankruptcy in June 2024, Ocean owners organized the Fisker Owners Association (FOA) and began coordinating community support, software projects and parts sourcing. They did not become the Ocean’s legal manufacturer; they stepped in to help fill some of the support gaps left by the company’s collapse.
What happened after Fisker went bankrupt?
Fisker entered bankruptcy in June 2024, after delivering about 11,000 vehicles, according to The Verge’s September 27, 2025 report. That figure is the publication’s account, not a current fleet count or an independently audited total.
Owners formed the FOA to share information and coordinate practical support. The Verge reported that 4,055 people had signed up and that annual dues were $550 at the time of publication. Those are publication-time figures, not verified current membership or dues.
The effort illustrates what can happen when a low-volume vehicle maker disappears: owners can pool knowledge, organize parts channels and encourage third-party software work. Morningstar EV industry analyst Seth Goldstein described the motivation this way: “For owners of any EV company that stops production, it makes sense to form an organization to share resources and maintenance ideas.” That is his analysis, not a regulatory finding.

What support did Ocean owners organize?
The Verge described several owner-linked initiatives, each addressing a different support need. The reporting does not establish that every service remains active today.

Can you still get parts for a Fisker Ocean?
Owner-organized parts sourcing was part of the response described by The Verge, including the North American and European efforts above. That does not guarantee that a particular component is available, that a seller has it now, or that it will fit a specific vehicle. Confirm the part number or fitment with the supplier before relying on it, and establish the seller’s current stock and service terms.
Parts sourcing also does not make an aftermarket part an approved fix for a safety defect. For a recalled Ocean, check the vehicle’s recall status and arrange the remedy through an appropriate service provider.

Which Fisker Ocean recalls should owners know about?
NHTSA records identify two distinct safety campaigns; they concern different defects and should not be conflated.
Campaign 24V-623: regenerative braking
NHTSA’s 2024 acknowledgment says this campaign potentially affected 7,745 U.S. model-year 2023–2024 Ocean vehicles. The stated concern was an unexpected reduction in regenerative braking that could reduce braking performance and extend stopping distance. Campaign 24V-865: transmission error
A separate NHTSA record describes a transmission error that could prevent the vehicle from shifting into the selected gear and allow it to roll away while in Drive or Reverse. The record describes an over-the-air remedy. See NHTSA’s campaign 24V-865 record.
These campaign descriptions do not show whether a particular Ocean is affected or whether its repair has been completed. A model-wide recall notice is not a substitute for checking an individual vehicle.

How do you check a specific Ocean’s recall status?
- Find the vehicle identification number (VIN), usually visible through the windshield or on the vehicle’s registration documents.
- Enter the VIN in NHTSA’s recall lookup to check for open recalls associated with that vehicle.
- Confirm any listed campaign and repair status with an appropriate service provider. If a recall appears open, ask how the official remedy will be completed; do not treat an app or aftermarket part as a substitute.
What owners should keep in mind
- Owner groups and independent suppliers can help share information and locate parts, but they do not take over the manufacturer’s legal role.
- Availability, compatibility and service coverage can change; verify them directly before purchasing parts or using third-party software.
- Recall status is vehicle-specific. Use the VIN and confirm the remedy rather than assuming every Ocean has the same unresolved defect.
