The 2025 Audi Q7 received a substantial styling, lighting, personalization and technology update—but it was not a new generation. Audi unveiled the revision on January 30, 2024, with its market launch planned for the first quarter of that year. In current context, it is the revised previous-generation Q7: Audi announced a third generation in June 2026.
Was the 2025 Audi Q7 redesigned?
No. Audi refreshed the existing Q7 rather than introducing a new generation. The changes focus on its appearance, lighting choices, personalization and in-car technology. The timing can be confusing: Audi announced the revision in January 2024, ahead of its planned first-quarter 2024 market launch, and the model is sold as a 2025 vehicle in some markets. Audi later announced the third-generation Q7 on June 9, 2026. Audi’s 2024 announcement and its 2026 announcement establish that timeline.
What changed on the outside?
Revised front and rear styling
Audi revised the Q7’s front and rear sections, including the visual relationship between the grille and headlights. The headlights sit higher, the air-intake details have been reshaped, and grille inlays differ between base and S line versions. Black and Black Plus optics packages add dark exterior accents. The result is an updated look, not a change to the underlying generation.
New lighting signatures
Audi says the HD Matrix LED headlights with laser high beam offer selectable digital daytime-running-light signatures. Optional digital OLED rear lights offer four light signatures. Audi also describes an OLED proximity indication: in conjunction with assistance systems, light segments activate when another road user approaches a stationary vehicle from within two metres. These are Audi’s feature descriptions; availability depends on market and configuration. Audi’s release describes the lighting changes, but it does not mean every 2025 Q7 has Matrix headlights or OLED taillights.

What personalization options were added?
Audi added Sakhir Gold, Ascari Blue and Chili Red paint colors, five wheel designs in 20- to 22-inch sizes, and additional decorative inlays. The release also notes contrasting gray stitching on the base model’s seat trim. Which choices can be ordered depends on the country and version.
How did the infotainment and driver displays change?
Apps in the infotainment system
Audi describes a market-specific app store integrated into the MIB 3 infotainment system, allowing direct use of selected third-party apps such as Spotify and Amazon Music. The apps and availability are market-dependent, so their inclusion should not be assumed for every vehicle.

More surroundings information in the virtual cockpit
The updated surroundings display can show lane-change and distance warnings, nearby road users, intersection assistance and online traffic-light information. Audi’s description does not establish that every function is available in every market or configuration. Check the local equipment list for the particular vehicle.
What equipment and powertrains did Audi announce?
Equipment claims in Audi’s global release
Audi says V6 combustion versions gained standard 19-inch alloy wheels, a gloss package with aluminum roof rails, a rear-view camera with parking assist plus, and high-beam assist. The release also mentions a comfort center armrest, smartphone interface with an integrated app store, and Audi phone box. These are claims in Audi’s global announcement, not a universal trim specification; local equipment can differ.

European-market engines and towing
Audi listed the following European-market V6 variants in its 2024 release. They use an eight-speed Tiptronic, permanent quattro all-wheel drive and a mild-hybrid system. The release gives a maximum towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes for V6 Q7 models; buyers should confirm the rating and applicable conditions for their own market and vehicle.

What does the New Zealand MY25 specification show?
Audi New Zealand’s specification sheet, dated February 4, 2025, is a useful local example—not a universal or U.S. specification. It lists a seven-seat 50 TDI Q7 and SQ7 TFSI. Their stated outputs, torque, luggage capacity and trailer-load figures are specific to these New Zealand configurations.

The sheet also lists 750 kg unbraked trailer load under its specification heading. It includes HD Matrix LED headlights, driver-assistance systems, app-store support and remote park assist among the equipment shown. OLED taillights are listed for the SQ7 specification, not the 50 TDI Q7; the panoramic sunroof appears as an option. Does the 2025 Audi Q7 have OLED taillights?
Not necessarily. Audi describes digital OLED rear lights as an optional feature of the revised Q7, and equipment depends on the market and configuration. In Audi New Zealand’s MY25 sheet, OLED taillights are listed for the SQ7 specification but not the 50 TDI Q7. Check the local equipment sheet or the individual vehicle’s specification rather than relying on the model year alone.
What should buyers verify by market and trim?
The Q7 name covers configurations that can differ in ways that matter to a buyer. Before comparing vehicles or relying on a feature claim, check the local trim sheet for:
- Engine name, output and availability; Audi’s European engine list is not a global lineup.
- Standard versus optional lighting, including HD Matrix LED headlights and OLED rear lights.
- Whether a feature such as the app store, online traffic-light information or remote park assist is available locally.
- Seating layout, cargo figures and trailer ratings for the exact version.
- Differences among base, S line and SQ7 equipment, including styling and options.
Audi’s U.S. model page did not provide usable specification detail in the material reviewed, so a U.S.-specific trim-by-trim equipment comparison is not established here.
