Honda lists 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of combined system torque; its published EPA estimates are 49 mpg combined for the sedan and 48 mpg for the hatchback. Trim details below are specific to the U.S. Civic Sedan, while availability and pricing depend on market and date.
What changed on the 2025 Honda Civic?
Honda refreshed the Civic for the 2025 model year and reintroduced a hybrid powertrain to the lineup. The hybrid is available in sedan and hatchback body styles. Honda’s U.S. sedan trim sheet names the hybrid grades Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid; the LX and Sport are listed as nonhybrid trims. Honda’s 2025 award and specifications release describes the powertrain and body styles, while the U.S. features-by-trim sheet specifies sedan equipment.
Honda also reported that the Civic Hybrid received the 2025 North American Car of the Year award. The award was determined by 50 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada; it is recognition, not a guarantee that the Civic suits every buyer. Honda’s January 2025 release also said the company expected hybrids to account for about 40% of Civic sales. That was a forecast, not a confirmed sales result.
How much power does the 2025 Civic Hybrid make?
Honda says the Civic Hybrid pairs a two-motor hybrid-electric system with a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine. Combined system output is 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. These are Honda’s published system figures, not a separate rating for the gasoline engine alone. Honda’s 2025 specifications release.
