What is the Little G?
It is the common media label for Mercedes-Benz’s planned smaller G-Class-family vehicle. Mercedes announced a compact G-Class plan in 2023, but reporting says the eventual retail name will be different. Until Mercedes confirms that name, “Little G” and “baby G-Class” are useful descriptions, not official badges.
When is it expected to arrive?

Will it be electric or petrol-powered?
The expectation has changed over time. Autocar described the vehicle as electric-only in January 2024 and again in April 2025; its February 2026 report said Mercedes was considering electric and combustion or mild-hybrid versions. No final battery capacity, electric range, charging figures, engine output, or confirmed production powertrain lineup is established by these reports. Treat the powertrain mix as reported planning, rather than a finished specification.
How big might it be, and what could it look like?
Autocar has reported expectations of a five-seat vehicle up to 4,400 mm long. That is an estimate, not a Mercedes-confirmed production dimension. Reported design cues include round headlights, indicators mounted on the front wings, three side windows, and a fixed spare wheel. What is known about its platform and off-road hardware?
Autocar’s 2026 report says Mercedes is moving toward a unique architecture intended to preserve the vehicle’s G-Class character. The available reporting does not settle the production chassis or confirm specific off-road hardware. A ladder frame, particular drivetrain components, or other detailed mechanical specifications should not be treated as confirmed.
