Archive note: The 2025 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix was held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, so this is a historical schedule and viewing guide rather than a live race preview.
The scheduled Grand Prix start was 2:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time in Austin—3:00 p.m. Eastern, 1:00 p.m. Mountain, noon Pacific, and 7:00 p.m. UTC. In the United States, the race aired on ABC and streamed through the ESPN App. ESPN’s Grand Prix Sunday began at 1:30 p.m. ET, while the race telecast was listed at 2:55 p.m. ET ahead of the advertised 3:00 p.m. ET start.
Those times come from Formula 1’s official Austin timetable and ESPN’s official U.S. broadcast announcement.

- Even if you’re new to F1, the racing intent is easy to feel. The livery stickers and printed slick tires echo the look of a real car waiting on the grid, tense and purposeful.
- Rotate the gear on top and the front wheels turn with it, along with the steering wheel inside. It’s a small interaction, but it helps you understand how steering shapes every move on track.
- A lever inside the cockpit lets you open and close the flap on the car's rear wing. It’s a simple way to experience what DRS means, and a nod to the DRS era.
- Lift the rear cover to see a V6 engine built with metallic painted parts. Push the car forward and the pistons move, showing how motion runs through the car.
- Whether you follow F1 closely or just appreciate race car design, this is the kind of model you clear space for. It belongs in a racing collection, or as a gift for someone who feels the same pull.
What time should U.S. viewers have tuned in?
There were several legitimate times in ESPN’s listings, depending on whether you wanted the pre-race program, the broadcast window, or the scheduled start:
- 1:30 p.m. ET: Grand Prix Sunday began on ABC.
- 2:00 p.m. ET: ESPN’s Countdown to Austin digital preview was available through ESPN+, the ESPN YouTube channel, and the ESPN App.
- 2:55 p.m. ET: ESPN listed the main race telecast on ABC and the ESPN App.
- 3:00 p.m. ET: The advertised scheduled start of the Grand Prix.
The practical answer for someone watching live was: start coverage by 2:55 p.m. ET, and be ready for the scheduled race start at 3:00 p.m. ET. The five-minute difference reflects the beginning of the television program versus the scheduled start of the race itself. It should not be presented as two different official start times.
Where was the 2025 F1 United States Grand Prix broadcast?
United States television
The main Sunday race broadcast was on ABC, not simply on the regular ESPN cable channel. Viewers needed an antenna, cable package, or live-TV service carrying their local ABC affiliate. Availability and local programming could vary by market, so local listings were the final check.
Streaming
The standard race broadcast streamed through the ESPN App. Access could depend on the viewer’s participating television provider or subscription. ESPN+ also offered digital programming and alternate viewing options, but it was not the same thing as saying the standard ABC broadcast was exclusively an ESPN+ stream.
For fans who wanted data or a different camera angle, ESPN+ offered a Driver Tracker Channel and a Mixed On-Board Camera feed beginning at 2:55 p.m. ET. These were alternate presentations rather than replacements for the conventional ABC world-feed broadcast.
Spanish-language coverage
The ESPN App offered a Spanish-language race feed, and ESPN Deportes carried Spanish-language programming connected with the event. Exact availability depended on the viewer’s service and local listings.

Scheduled replays
ESPN listed replays at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and 11:00 p.m. ET on ESPNEWS on race day. Those were scheduled linear-TV windows for October 19, 2025; they should not be treated as permanently available replay times on an archive page.

Formula 1’s official 2025 United States Grand Prix page lists the event at Circuit of The Americas in Austin. The Grand Prix was scheduled for 56 laps, covering 308.405 kilometers on the 5.513-kilometer circuit, with a maximum race duration of 120 minutes.
Why was the Austin weekend different?
The 2025 United States Grand Prix was one of Formula 1’s Sprint weekends. Instead of the usual practice-heavy format, the weekend had only one practice session before Sprint Qualifying on Friday.
The format was:
- Free Practice 1 on Friday;
- Sprint Qualifying on Friday afternoon;
- the Sprint on Saturday;
- regular qualifying for Sunday’s Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon; and
- the 56-lap Grand Prix on Sunday.
Sprint Qualifying set the starting order for Saturday’s Sprint. Saturday afternoon’s full qualifying session set the grid for the main Sunday race. That is why a viewer looking for “qualifying” needed to distinguish between the Friday Sprint session and Saturday’s Grand Prix qualifying.
How viewers outside the United States could watch
Formula 1’s broadcaster arrangements were territory-specific. The following were the main viewing paths identified for the 2025 event, but exact session coverage and local times were subject to regional schedules:

Formula 1’s broadcast-information directory is the better starting point for a specific country. It is safer than assuming that a broadcaster, language feed, or streaming package available in one market also carried every session in another.
Was F1 TV Pro available?
F1 TV Pro offered live coverage in territories where the service was available. Formula 1 described the service as providing live sessions along with onboard cameras, team radio, live timing, and additional features. However, rights restrictions meant it was not a universal substitute for ABC, ESPN, or another local broadcaster.
Readers checking an archive or replay should verify F1 TV’s regional availability before relying on it. Do not confuse F1 TV Access with a full live-race subscription: Access generally provides timing, archives, and delayed content rather than the complete live F1 broadcast. Subscription prices also change, so a current price should not be presented as the price that applied to the October 2025 race.
Formula 1’s contemporaneous how-to-watch guide and its F1 TV streaming guide both qualified availability by territory.
Why some listings showed different times
2:55 p.m. ET versus 3:00 p.m. ET
ESPN’s official release used both times. Its schedule listed the race telecast at 2:55 p.m. ET, while the release described the race as starting at 3:00 p.m. ET. The most useful interpretation is that 2:55 p.m. was the beginning of the television broadcast and 3:00 p.m. was the advertised scheduled Grand Prix start.
Local Austin time versus Eastern Time
The track schedule used Austin’s local time. Because Austin is one hour behind the U.S. East Coast during October’s daylight-saving period, 2:00 p.m. CDT became 3:00 p.m. EDT. Any guide pairing 2:00 p.m. CDT with 1:00 p.m. Eastern was using the wrong conversion.

Australia and New Zealand daylight saving
The race began at 7:00 p.m. UTC on October 19. Sydney was observing AEDT—not AEST—on the following morning, making the correct time 6:00 a.m. AEDT on October 20. New Zealand was observing NZDT, making the race 8:00 a.m. there. This is why some copied international tables showed Australia an hour too early.

No. The 2025 race remained part of the U.S. ESPN and ABC broadcast package. Apple’s exclusive U.S. Formula 1 partnership began with the 2026 season, so an updated Formula 1 broadcast directory showing Apple TV should not be used to rewrite the broadcaster for the October 2025 event.
Apple announced the start of its new arrangement in its October 2025 partnership announcement. That announcement does not mean Apple TV carried the 2025 United States Grand Prix.
