CFMOTO’s 675SR-R will be the exclusive motorcycle supplied to the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) for the 2027, 2028 and 2029 seasons. The agreement gives the production model’s name and 675cc three-cylinder platform a three-season international racing stage. It does not, based on the announcements available on October 9, 2026, announce a revised showroom motorcycle, a race-replica edition, new retail specifications, a price change or a consumer purchase program.
The safest interpretation is therefore a racing supply agreement and a major visibility commitment—not proof that a WorldWCR race bike will be mechanically identical to a motorcycle sold through dealers.

What exactly did WorldSBK and CFMOTO announce?
WorldSBK announced CFMOTO as WorldWCR’s exclusive motorcycle supplier for the 2027–2029 seasons on October 9, 2026. The championship will retain its one-make format, meaning competitors use identical machinery under the series rules rather than choosing among different manufacturers’ bikes.

The designated platform is the CFMOTO 675SR-R, a middleweight sport motorcycle with a 675cc three-cylinder engine. WorldSBK describes the platform as producing around 15 horsepower more than the current WorldWCR motorcycle. That is a championship comparison supplied by WorldSBK; it is not an independently measured retail-bike upgrade or a promise that every production-market 675SR-R will gain 15 hp.

CFMOTO says it will support the competition fleet with technical assistance, race preparation, parts supply and trackside technical staff. Those commitments apply to the WorldWCR program. They should not be read as a new retail service package for owners.
What does the agreement mean for the production 675SR-R?
More international exposure for the existing model
The 675SR-R becomes the named platform for a world championship contested by female riders under equal technical conditions. Every competitor will use the same supplied machinery, so the motorcycle’s performance, reliability and preparation will be visible across an entire field rather than in a one-off demonstration.
For CFMOTO, that creates a long-term motorsport showcase for its three-cylinder architecture. It also gives the company a reason to develop race-support processes, spare-parts logistics and trackside expertise around this model family. For a road-bike buyer, the immediate effect is reputational and promotional: the 675SR-R will be associated with a factory-supported international series.

The published announcement does not state that CFMOTO will change the production motorcycle’s engine tune, chassis, electronics, equipment list, homologation, availability or price because of the WorldWCR contract. It also does not announce a numbered race-replica model or a package of parts that consumers can buy.

That does not rule out future product changes. It means only that the agreement, as announced, establishes a competition supply program rather than a retail launch. Any later road-bike update should be treated as a separate announcement with its own specifications and market coverage.
What are the published production-bike specifications?
CFMOTO’s stated road-bike figures describe the current 675SR-R production model. They are manufacturer claims and may vary by market or model year.
| Item | Published figure | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Engine | 675cc, three-cylinder | CFMOTO and WorldSBK identify the same displacement and cylinder layout for the platform. |
| Maximum power | 70 kW (95 hp) at 11,000 rpm | CFMOTO-stated production figure, 2026. |
| Maximum torque | 70 Nm at 8,250 rpm | CFMOTO-stated production figure, 2026. |
| Curb weight | 189 kg | Listed on a CFMOTO South Africa specification sheet hosted in 2025; confirm local market and model year. |
| Fuel capacity | 15 litres | Listed on the same South African sheet; not established as a universal specification. |
| WorldWCR comparison | Around 15 hp more than the current platform | WorldSBK’s series-level comparison, not a retail dyno test or a guaranteed output for every market. |
The 70 kW, 95 hp and 70 Nm numbers describe the road-going motorcycle as CFMOTO publishes it. The “around 15 hp more” statement compares the incoming WorldWCR platform with the championship’s current motorcycle. Those figures answer different questions and should not be combined into a claim that the showroom bike has been upgraded by 15 hp.
Is the WorldWCR motorcycle the same as the road bike?
It is based on the 675SR-R platform, but the available announcements do not provide a race-bike build sheet. The one-make rule means the field must use identical motorcycles, not that the motorcycles must remain untouched production machines.

A series supplier can prepare motorcycles for competition while keeping the same underlying model identity. Race preparation can involve components, software, safety equipment and setup changes that are necessary for circuit use. Until CFMOTO or WorldSBK publishes technical regulations or a detailed specification, it is not accurate to call the fleet either “stock” or a fully different prototype.
| Comparison area | What is established now | What remains unconfirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Engine and tuning | 675cc three-cylinder platform; 70 kW (95 hp) and 70 Nm are CFMOTO’s production figures. | Race engine tune, rev limit, internal parts and permitted performance balancing. |
| Intake, exhaust and ECU | No race specification published. | Whether intake, exhaust, software or data systems differ from the road motorcycle. |
| Suspension and brakes | No WorldWCR equipment list published. | Supplier components, settings, braking hardware and adjustment range. |
| Weight and fuel | A South African sheet lists 189 kg curb weight and 15 L capacity for that market document. | Race minimum weight, race fuel quantity and any competition-specific weight changes. |
| Tyres | Michelin is scheduled to become WorldWCR’s single tyre supplier from 2027. | Race tyre specifications and how they differ from road-legal tyres. |
| Safety equipment | Nothing specified in the announcement. | Race wiring, protection, data logging, emergency systems and other required equipment. |
| Road legality | The 675SR-R is identified as a road-going production model. | Which race parts could be fitted to a consumer bike and whether they would remain road-legal. |
This distinction matters because a race motorcycle can be faster on a circuit through tyres, suspension setup, gearing, software and preparation even when its engine displacement and model name match the showroom machine. The announcements do not identify those changes.
Why the one-make format matters
Riders, not different factory packages, remain the headline variable
WorldSBK says WorldWCR will preserve equal technical conditions. With one supplier and identical machinery, riders compete within a controlled equipment framework. The format is intended to make rider performance, racecraft and development visible without a multi-manufacturer arms race.
A useful development environment for CFMOTO
A three-season supply term gives CFMOTO repeated race mileage, a stable field of motorcycles and direct feedback from riders and technical staff. That can help the company identify durability or setup lessons. It does not automatically transfer a racing solution to a consumer motorcycle: a road bike must satisfy road regulations, emissions requirements, noise limits, durability targets and owner-use expectations that do not apply in the same way to a competition machine.

What CFMOTO’s support commitment covers
CFMOTO says its WorldWCR role includes four practical areas:
- Technical support: engineering assistance for the championship operation.
- Race preparation: converting or setting up motorcycles for circuit competition.
- Parts supply: maintaining the fleet with competition-relevant replacement parts.
- Trackside technical staff: personnel present at events to support teams and riders.
These statements describe support for the race program. They do not establish that road-bike owners will receive trackside assistance, race parts, factory setup advice or the same warranty treatment. Retail support remains a question for the relevant national distributor and dealer network.

If you want a road-legal sport motorcycle now
Judge the 675SR-R by the specifications, equipment, local warranty and dealer support offered in your market. The WorldWCR announcement does not change the published 70 kW (95 hp), 70 Nm or any other retail figure. The South African sheet’s 189 kg curb weight and 15-litre tank should be verified against your country’s listing before you use them for a purchase decision.

If you are waiting for a race replica
There is no announced WorldWCR edition, special paint scheme, homologation model or consumer race-kit package in the published material. A future product announcement could add one, but it should not be assumed from the supplier contract alone.

If you expect race performance to prove showroom performance
World championship exposure can demonstrate that CFMOTO is willing to support a competition fleet. It does not constitute an independent road-bike test, a dyno result or a guarantee of reliability, lap time or handling for the retail motorcycle. The manufacturer’s statements about British Superbike participation and development testing with Aspar riders and technical staff are company claims, not independently verified results established here.
What to watch for before treating the race bike as a product upgrade
Future official information should answer specific questions rather than relying on racing imagery or model names:
- Is the race engine internally standard, or are internal components changed?
- What power and torque are actually claimed for the WorldWCR specification?
- Which ECU, intake, exhaust and data-acquisition systems are used?
- What suspension, brakes, wheels and bodywork are supplied?
- What is the race minimum weight, and how does it relate to the road bike’s curb weight?
- Which Michelin race tyres are mandated, and what road-legal alternatives are approved for customers?
- Are any race components sold through dealers, and do they preserve road legality and warranty coverage?
Until those details are published, the defensible description is “a WorldWCR race motorcycle based on the CFMOTO 675SR-R platform.” More specific claims would go beyond the announced evidence.

The 2027–2029 WorldWCR agreement is important because it places CFMOTO’s 675SR-R at the center of a three-season, one-make world championship and commits the company to organized technical and trackside support. It raises the model’s motorsport profile and may generate useful development experience.
For consumers, however, nothing in the announcement changes the road bike’s published specification or confirms a race-spec retail version. The production 675SR-R remains the 675cc three-cylinder motorcycle CFMOTO describes as making 70 kW (95 hp) at 11,000 rpm and 70 Nm at 8,250 rpm, subject to local-market confirmation. Treat the WorldWCR machine as a competition-prepared platform until an official build specification says exactly how it differs.
