Lewis Hamilton called the Ferrari F80 “the fastest road car I’ve ever been in” while driving it at Fiorano. The remark is his personal impression in a Ferrari-produced video—not an independent test result or proof that the F80 holds a road-car speed record.
What did Lewis Hamilton say about the Ferrari F80?
In a video published by Ferrari on June 19, 2025, Hamilton says: “This is the fastest road car I’ve ever been in.” Ferrari’s video title uses the same idea: “The fastest road car I’ve ever been in!” The video features Hamilton and Charles Leclerc driving the F80 at Fiorano, Ferrari’s test track. Motorsport.com also quoted Hamilton saying, “This is the fastest road car Ferrari has done, for sure.” That is a secondary report of his opinion, not a measured ranking. Motorsport.com’s report, published February 5, 2026, also quoted Leclerc describing the F80 as “the best car ever” in terms of balance; that, too, is a driver’s judgment rather than an objective result.
Does the quote prove the F80 is the fastest road car?
No. “Fastest I’ve ever been in” describes Hamilton’s experience and perception. It does not say the F80 was independently compared with every other road car, nor does it establish a record for top speed, acceleration, or lap time. Ferrari’s video is promotional content, and the quoted line should be read in that context.

The sources available for this article do not establish a comparative test or lap-time result that would support an objective “fastest road car” claim. Nor do they provide verified technical figures for the F80’s power, acceleration, or top speed. Those numbers should not be inferred from Hamilton’s remark.

Was the Ferrari F80 already sold out?
