Jaguar’s November 2024 rebrand was a complete repositioning, not a badge refresh. The company introduced a new “Copy Nothing” identity, committed to an all-electric luxury direction and began reshaping how cars are designed and sold. For owners, Jaguar’s UK support commitments are reassuring: servicing, warranty work, software updates, maintenance, roadside assistance, parts and accessories are intended to continue. The uncertainty is local retail coverage, because Jaguar says its dealer network may change.
What Jaguar actually changed in November 2024
On 19 November 2024, Jaguar announced a new creative philosophy called “Exuberant Modernism”. It connects the future brand to founder Sir William Lyons’s “Copy Nothing” idea, but applies that principle to every customer touchpoint rather than only to vehicle styling.

The announcement identified four visible elements:
- A mixed-case device mark: a new wordmark intended to make the name look more distinctive and less conventional.
- A strikethrough graphic: a recurring visual device used across communications and physical applications.
- Expressive primary colors: colors presented with texture or movement rather than as a restrained traditional luxury palette.
- New maker’s marks: updated uses of Jaguar symbols, including the leaper and monogram.
Jaguar’s chief creative officer, Professor Gerry McGovern OBE, described the philosophy as “imaginative, bold and artistic at every touchpoint”. Managing director Rawdon Glover called the move “a complete reset”. Those are statements of corporate intent, not independent evidence that buyers have accepted the change or that sales have improved.

The identity change is tied to a strategic move toward electric luxury cars. That does not mean every Jaguar currently on the road is being replaced immediately. It means the next generation of products is being developed around an electric-only positioning.

Type 00 was a design vision, not a production model
On 3 December 2024, Jaguar showed Type 00 as a “Design Vision Concept”. It was a physical statement of the new design language and an indication of the proportions and theater Jaguar wants from its future products. It should not be described as a production car, a model available to order or proof that every concept feature will reach customers.
The Type 00 announcement also described an intended retail approach: a small number of exclusive Jaguar brand stores supported by a broader luxury retailer network. Jaguar did not publish a complete list of stores, closure dates or market-by-market allocations in that announcement.
Type 01 is the named four-door electric GT
Jaguar later named its forthcoming four-door electric grand tourer Type 01. In its May 2026 announcement, the company said the car is designed, developed and built in the UK. Jaguar stated that its tri-motor system produces more than 1,000 PS and over 1,300 Nm of torque.
The same announcement said Type 01 would be revealed later in 2026. A March 2026 engineering release had referred to a September reveal, but the later announcement used the less specific “later in 2026”. As of 13 October 2026, the reviewed official announcements did not confirm that the reveal had taken place. Treat the date as Jaguar’s announced plan, not as a completed event.
Rawdon Glover said the “0” in Type 01 represents a brand reset and the “1” its first car for a new chapter. That explains the naming logic, but it does not establish final pricing, range, charging performance, dimensions or delivery dates.

Type 00 range and charging figures: what they do and do not prove
Jaguar’s Type 00 announcement gave future-model targets of up to 770 km (478 miles) on the WLTP cycle and 430 miles under the EPA test cycle. It also targeted the addition of up to 200 miles of range in 15 minutes of rapid charging.
These were manufacturer targets attached to the 2024 concept announcement. They were not independent test results and were not confirmed production specifications for Type 01. Do not use them as a promise about the eventual customer car unless Jaguar publishes a later production specification that confirms them.

What the rebrand means for existing Jaguar owners
Jaguar’s detailed ownership guidance is published for the UK. It says current-generation vehicle allocation ceased and new Jaguar sales would end from November 2024 ahead of the next product launch. Some models remained available as Approved Pre-Owned vehicles through the UK retail network. Neither point means that an existing vehicle has suddenly lost support.
The UK FAQ says Jaguar Authorised Repairers will continue to provide the following services:
- Routine servicing and scheduled maintenance.
- Warranty repairs and warranty-claim administration.
- Software updates.
- Roadside assistance.
- InControl Remote & Protect support.
- Parts and accessories.
It also says existing warranties, extended warranties and service plans remain valid. Extended warranties and service plans can still be purchased through a retailer under the terms available in that market.

Warranty and service-plan validity
The UK guidance does not cancel a contract because Jaguar is changing its identity or product strategy. Keep your warranty and service-plan documents, follow the prescribed maintenance schedule and use the repairer instructions attached to your vehicle and contract. If a claim is disputed, ask the retailer or Jaguar support channel to identify the specific contractual term involved rather than assuming the rebrand changed your coverage.

Jaguar’s UK FAQ specifically includes software updates, roadside assistance and InControl Remote & Protect among the continuing support commitments. Availability can still depend on the vehicle, subscription status, communications coverage and local terms. Check the documentation for your exact model instead of assuming every connected function works identically across the range.
Parts and accessories
Jaguar says parts and accessories will continue to be supplied in the UK. The FAQ specifically mentions loadspace liners as an example of an accessory. A liner is not universal: confirm compatibility with the exact Jaguar model, body style and model year before ordering.
Will your Jaguar still have a place to be serviced?
In the UK, Jaguar says Authorised Repairers will continue servicing Jaguar products, including through retailers that also sell other brands such as Range Rover, Defender or Discovery. This is a statement about the network’s capability, not a guarantee that your current showroom will remain open.
Jaguar also warns that it is refining its retail network. A retailer may close, stop trading or change its role. If that happens, the UK FAQ directs owners to the retailer’s notice or to Jaguar’s online locator to find the nearest service centre.

A practical UK owner checklist
- Check your retailer’s current status before booking routine work.
- If it has closed or stopped trading, read the notice left by that business for transition information.
- Use Jaguar’s UK retailer or service-centre locator to identify the nearest authorised facility.
- When booking, provide the vehicle identification number and describe any warranty, software or connected-service issue precisely.
- Keep invoices, diagnostic reports and roadside-assistance records with your vehicle documents.
Do not assume the nearest facility, travel distance or appointment availability will be the same in every part of the UK.
What happens to Jaguar dealers and retailers?
Jaguar’s announced retail model has two layers: a select number of exclusive Jaguar brand stores and a wider global network of luxury retailers. The company has not published a complete market-by-market list of retained dealers, closures, new-store counts or vehicle allocations in the material reviewed here.
That leaves three separate questions that should not be conflated:

For an owner, “dealer” and “repairer” are therefore not always the same thing. A showroom may change its sales activity while an authorised facility continues maintenance, or a different retailer may take over servicing in your area.

What is not yet known
Jaguar’s announcements do not establish an independent measure of consumer reaction, owner resale impact, dealer-closure totals or sales effects. They also do not provide final Type 01 pricing, EPA or WLTP certification, charging test results, production volumes, order-opening dates or delivery schedules.
Those gaps matter when making a purchase or keeping a vehicle long term. A concept’s appearance cannot establish production equipment, and an announced electric strategy cannot establish the cost or availability of a particular model in your country.
How owners in other countries should verify support
The detailed service, warranty, roadside-assistance, retailer and parts wording cited above comes from Jaguar’s UK FAQ. It should not automatically be applied to the United States, Europe, Australia or any other market. Warranty law, service plans, roadside providers, retailer arrangements and parts logistics can differ by jurisdiction.
Owners outside the UK should use their country’s official Jaguar support page or contact a local Jaguar retailer. Ask specifically about:
- Authorised service locations for your model.
- Warranty and extended-warranty claim handling.
- Service-plan validity and transfer rules.
- Software-update support and connected-service subscriptions.
- Roadside-assistance coverage.
- Parts and accessory ordering.
- The nearest replacement facility if your former retailer has closed.
What the rebrand means in practical terms
For Jaguar as a brand, the change is an attempt to move from a familiar sports-luxury identity to a more theatrical, electric luxury proposition. For the product line, Type 00 communicated the design ambition and Type 01 is the named four-door GT intended to begin the next chapter. For current owners in the UK, the immediate message is continuity of authorised support alongside possible changes in where that support is delivered.
Matt Becker, JLR’s vehicle engineering director, said engineers studied historic Jaguar models to preserve a balance of performance and comfort. That is Jaguar’s stated development philosophy, not an independent road-test conclusion. Until Type 01 is fully revealed and independently evaluated, the most reliable information remains the announced electric architecture, output claims and support policy rather than assumptions based on the concept.
