The rare color option is Blade Silver Matte, a factory matte finish offered on the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition. The package is restricted to the 3LZ convertible; it is not the same as Blade Silver Metallic, a separate color available across the 2026 Corvette lineup.
What is the rare color option on the 2026 Corvette?
Blade Silver Matte is the signature exterior finish of Chevrolet’s 2026 Corvette ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition. Chevrolet announced the edition on August 6, 2025, describing the paint as its first factory matte production finish in 60 years. The company says it takes inspiration from Inca Silver, a color offered on C1 Corvettes from 1957 through 1959. Chevrolet’s announcement quotes Phil Zak, executive design director of Global Chevrolet, calling the finish “a rare chance to own a truly unique expression of Corvette.”
How Blade Silver Matte differs from Blade Silver Metallic
The similar names refer to different finishes with different availability. Blade Silver Matte is tied to the limited-production Quail Silver package, while Blade Silver Metallic is one of two new-for-2026 exterior colors Chevrolet announced for all Corvette models. The other new color is Roswell Green Metallic.
| Detail | Blade Silver Matte | Blade Silver Metallic |
|---|---|---|
| Finish | Matte | Metallic |
| Availability | Quail Silver Limited Edition package | New exterior color option across the 2026 Corvette lineup |
| Configuration | 2026 ZR1X 3LZ convertible | Chevrolet announced it for all 2026 Corvette models |
Chevrolet’s May 2025 color announcement identifies Blade Silver Metallic as a lineup color; it does not make that broader option the same as the matte limited-edition paint.

What comes with the Quail Silver Limited Edition?
Exterior and cabin
Alongside Blade Silver Matte, the package includes a Sky Cool and Medium Ash Gray interior with Habanero accents. That interior scheme is also available on all 2026 Corvette models, so it is not exclusive to the Quail Silver edition.
Limited-edition status
Chevrolet describes the package as limited production and says each vehicle receives a numbered Limited Edition plaque. Its announcement does not give a planned production total, package price, or allocation details, so those figures cannot be established from the announcement.

What the ZR1X adds
The Quail Silver package is based on the 2026 ZR1X. Chevrolet lists the car’s combined output at 1,250 horsepower and its 0–60 mph time at under 2 seconds; both are manufacturer-published claims in the company’s August 2025 announcement. Those performance figures describe the ZR1X, not an extra performance upgrade unique to the silver package.

The August 2025 announcement identifies the package’s U.S. configuration as the ZR1X 3LZ convertible. Chevrolet Europe’s July 9, 2026, announcement covers right-hand-drive Stingray, E-Ray, and Z06 versions then on sale in the UK and names Blade Silver Metallic and Roswell Green Metallic as new exterior colors there; it does not establish UK availability of the Quail Silver Limited Edition. Chevrolet Europe’s UK announcement is specific to those models and colors.
