What Is the Most Fuel-Efficient Motorcycle You Can Buy in the U.S.?

Honda’s 2026 Navi leads the models compared here with a listed 110 MPG estimate, but that figure is not a guaranteed real-world result or exhaustive U.S. ranking.

The 2026 Honda Navi has the highest stated fuel-economy figure among the current models compared here: Honda lists an estimated 110 MPG. That is a manufacturer estimate, not a guaranteed real-world result or a verified ranking of every motorcycle sold in the U.S. A useful alternative is the 2026 Yamaha Zuma 125, which Yamaha estimates at 101 MPG.

How the Honda Navi and Yamaha Zuma 125 compare

Both figures are manufacturer estimates for 2026 models. Their formats and specifications differ, so MPG alone does not determine which is the better fit.

Specification 2026 Honda Navi 2026 Yamaha Zuma 125
Estimated fuel economy 110 MPG, per American Honda Motor Co., Inc.; Honda says the estimate uses EPA exhaust-emission measurement procedures for comparison. Honda specifications 101 MPG, estimated by Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. Yamaha specifications
Fuel capacity 0.9 gallon, per Honda 1.6 gallons, per Yamaha
Engine 109cc air-cooled, single-cylinder four-stroke, per Honda 125cc liquid-cooled four-stroke, per Yamaha
Transmission Automatic V-Matic belt drive, per Honda Automatic V-belt transmission, per Yamaha
Riding format Mini-moto Step-through scooter-style
Listed price $2,199 base MSRP plus a separately listed $300 destination charge, per Honda Not stated in the cited Yamaha specifications

What Honda’s 110 MPG estimate means

Honda labels the Navi’s figure “Miles Per Gallon” and says the estimate is based on EPA exhaust-emission measurement procedures for comparison. It is not a promise of what every rider will get. Honda lists riding style, maintenance, weather, road conditions, tire pressure, accessories, cargo, and rider and passenger weight among the factors that can change mileage.

Honda separately described a 110.3 mpg Honda-tested fuel-mileage rating for the 2026 model in a press release. The retail specifications list 110 MPG; that is the appropriate figure to use when comparing the published product specifications rather than implying greater precision than the retail page provides. Why the higher MPG figure does not settle the buying decision

The Navi’s 0.9-gallon tank is smaller than the Zuma’s 1.6-gallon tank. A higher MPG estimate does not by itself establish longer practical range: actual consumption varies, and fuel capacity also matters. Neither listed estimate should be treated as a guaranteed range calculation for a particular ride.

Consider how you will use the bike as well as its fuel economy:

  • Transmission: Both manufacturers list automatic drive systems, though their designs have different names.
  • Roads and speeds: Match the motorcycle to the roads and speeds you expect to ride. The fuel-economy figures do not establish that either model is appropriate for every route.
  • Expected mileage: Treat both MPG figures as comparison estimates, not predictions for your riding conditions.

Does this make the Navi the most fuel-efficient motorcycle in the U.S.?

It is the strongest documented answer among the models compared here, but the available figures do not establish an exhaustive market-wide ranking. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency maintains separate certification data for motorcycles, including highway motorcycle test results for model years 2006 to present and electric motorcycle results for model years 2015 to present. EPA says its detailed certification spreadsheets update quarterly and its interactive certificate report updates daily. The specific workbook rows were not compared here, so the Navi’s 110 MPG figure should not be described as an independently confirmed record across every current U.S. motorcycle. EPA motorcycle certification data

EPA’s Automotive Trends data is not a substitute for a motorcycle ranking: EPA describes it as data on new U.S. light-duty vehicles. EPA Automotive Trends
