SparkCharge did not disappear after Shark Tank Season 12. The company reportedly accepted a $1 million deal from Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner, then shifted from a consumer portable-charger pitch toward commercial mobile EV charging, fleet support, and Charging-as-a-Service.
The Roadie Portable is still an active product, but it is mainly sold to registered businesses through SparkCharge’s sales team—not as a standard consumer charger on Amazon.

The short answer: SparkCharge is still in business
SparkCharge did not disappear after appearing on Shark Tank Season 12. The company reportedly accepted a $1 million investment from Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner, continued raising money, and evolved from a consumer-facing portable-charger pitch into a commercial mobile-EV-charging and fleet-services company.

What SparkCharge pitched on Shark Tank
SparkCharge appeared in the Season 12 premiere, identified as Season 12, Episode 1. The founders presented a portable electric-car charger intended to address range anxiety and emergency charging situations. The basic idea was different from installing a wall-mounted charger: instead of bringing an EV to a charging station, a battery-powered charging unit could be brought to the vehicle.
The reported opening offer was $1 million for 6% equity. After negotiations, Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner reportedly offered $1 million for 10% equity plus 4% advisory shares. The founders accepted the televised deal, according to contemporary and later reporting.
Did the Shark Tank deal actually close?
The available evidence indicates that the deal moved beyond a television handshake. Later coverage and company-related reporting identify Cuban and Greiner as SparkCharge investors, while SparkCharge continued operating and raising outside capital after the episode.

However, the exact private investment documents, final closing terms, and any subsequent ownership changes are not publicly available in the reviewed material. Therefore, it is more accurate to say that the Cuban-Greiner deal was reported as accepted and appears to have progressed into a real investment than to claim that the precise televised structure has been independently confirmed by a public filing.
What changed after Shark Tank?
After the episode, SparkCharge broadened its business beyond selling a compact portable charger directly to stranded EV owners. The company’s earlier concept involved modular portable charging equipment and a mobile delivery model. Its later strategy placed much greater emphasis on:
- Commercial mobile EV charging
- Fleet charging and fleet electrification
- Battery-powered charging where permanent infrastructure is difficult or slow to install
- Charging-as-a-Service, in which SparkCharge deploys and manages charging assets for a customer
- Roadside and on-demand charging partnerships
That shift explains why a casual search may make SparkCharge look less visible than expected. It did not necessarily become a mass-market consumer electronics brand. Instead, it moved toward infrastructure and energy services, where the customer may be a fleet operator or business rather than an individual EV owner.

What is the SparkCharge Roadie Portable now?
The current Roadie Portable is a battery-powered commercial DC fast-charging system. SparkCharge’s product information lists these specifications for the configured system:
Recommended Free Tools
| Specification | Listed information |
|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 3.45 kWh per battery module |
| Usable energy | 3.35 kWh |
| Maximum charger output | 20 kW |
| Output voltage | 150–500 VDC |
| Modularity | Up to four stackable batteries |
| Advertised range delivery | Up to 60 miles of range, depending on the configuration and vehicle |
SparkCharge describes Roadie Portable as a Level 3 DC fast charger. The “up to 60 miles” figure is the company’s advertised capability, not an independently verified guarantee for every EV. Actual range added depends on the vehicle, battery state, charging conditions, efficiency, temperature, and the specific Roadie configuration.
The important distinction is that Roadie Portable stores energy in its own battery modules. A conventional portable Level 2 EVSE may be easy to carry, but it generally still needs access to an electrical outlet or other power source. It is not automatically a battery-powered DC fast charger like the Roadie.
Can an individual buy a Roadie Portable?
SparkCharge’s current positioning is primarily commercial. The company says Roadie Portable is available for purchase by registered businesses through its sales team in the United States and North America. Packages and pricing vary according to the customer’s configuration and needs.
That means Roadie Portable should not be described as a standard consumer product that any driver can order from a retail shelf. A business may need to contact SparkCharge, explain its fleet or roadside application, and receive a configuration and price rather than select a single universally priced unit from an online shopping page.
This commercial positioning also makes sense technically. A 20 kW battery-powered DC fast charger is a substantially different product from a household charging cable. It involves stored energy, vehicle compatibility, logistics, charging operations, and often a business case for repeated deployment.

What is SparkCharge’s Charging-as-a-Service model?
SparkCharge also offers a Charging-as-a-Service model. Rather than requiring a customer to buy and independently manage every charging asset, SparkCharge describes a service in which it deploys and manages mobile, battery-powered Level 3 chargers.
The intended benefit is flexibility. A fleet may need charging at a depot, during peak demand, at a temporary location, or in a place where installing permanent electrical infrastructure would require costly upgrades and construction. Mobile charging does not eliminate the need for energy, planning, or operations, but it can give a commercial customer another way to keep vehicles moving while permanent infrastructure is unavailable or impractical.
This is the clearest sign of how SparkCharge’s business matured. The company is no longer best understood as simply selling the small charger demonstrated on television. It is now presenting mobile charging as an operational service for organizations with recurring or urgent charging needs.

In May 2025, SparkCharge announced $30.5 million in new capital. The company said the financing consisted of a $15.5 million Series A-1 equity round and a $15 million venture-loan facility.
SparkCharge said the money would support expansion of its mobile, off-grid EV-charging platform across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The company also reported more than 4 million kWh delivered to customers and fleet-charging coverage across all 50 U.S. states.
Those figures are company-announced metrics, not independently audited results in the information reviewed. They nevertheless provide strong evidence that SparkCharge remained active and was pursuing a larger commercial strategy rather than shutting down after Shark Tank.

The durable IP65-rated waterproof housing and reinforced cable ensure reliable charging in all weather conditions, keeping your vehicle safe year-round.
Did SparkCharge develop roadside-charging partnerships?
Yes. The roadside-assistance idea presented on Shark Tank led to real-world service relationships. Reporting described an Allstate relationship intended to expand Roadie mobile charging, while partner material from Spiffy described on-demand charging through SparkCharge’s platform. Later coverage also discussed additional on-demand charging relationships.
Partnership rosters can change, so those relationships should be treated as reported partnerships rather than proof that every historic partner remains active today. The broader point is clear: SparkCharge’s emergency-charging concept was not abandoned. It became part of a larger commercial and roadside-service strategy.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you buy the SparkCharge charger on Amazon?
The exact SparkCharge Roadie Portable was not verified as an Amazon consumer listing in the available research. SparkCharge’s own sales positioning directs registered businesses to contact its sales team for customized packages and pricing.
Amazon does carry adjacent products marketed as a portable EV charger, but those should not be presented as the SparkCharge Roadie. Before buying an alternative, check whether it is:
- A battery-powered charger or simply a portable charging cable/EVSE
- Level 1, Level 2 AC, or DC fast-charging equipment
- Compatible with the vehicle’s charging connector and charging system
- Usable with the electrical supply available at the intended location
- Designed for emergency use, home use, or repeated commercial operation
A lower-cost consumer charger may be useful for home or travel charging, but it is not automatically comparable to a commercial 20 kW battery-powered DC system. Product availability, pricing, connectors, and vehicle compatibility also change, so any retailer listing should be checked immediately before purchase.
Why it may look like SparkCharge vanished
There are three main reasons people may assume the company failed:
Best Value
- Universal J1772 Compatibility: Designed with a standard J1772 connector, this J1772 charger works with most J1772 electric vehicles and PHEVs, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Rivian, Ford, Chevy, Volkswagen, Toyota and more. Note: Tesla vehicles require a J1772 to Tesla adapter (not included)
- Flexible Outlet Compatibility: This portable EV charger comes with a NEMA 6-20 plug and a NEMA 5-15/5-20 to 6-20 adapter. Supports Level 1 (8–12A) and Level 2 (16A). Max 12A (1.44kW) on 120V NEMA 5-15/5-20 outlets, and full 16A (3.84kW) with a 240V NEMA 6-20 outlet. One charger is designed to cover home, garage, and travel charging needs with reliable performance
- Adjustable Smart Charging Control: Customize charging safely with adjustable current settings (8A/10A/12A/16A) to match different circuits. The 0–12 hour delay timer helps schedule overnight charging during lower electricity rates. Integrated LCD display shows real-time voltage, current, power, and charging status for clear monitoring without apps. Note: Press 'A' or 'T' for 3s to set and confirm.
- Home Charging & Travel Backup: For daily home use while remaining fully portable for travel. This level 1 ev charger includes a durable 25FT ev charging cord, providing flexible reach for garage or driveway charging. Charge overnight to take advantage of lower utility rates—potentially saving up to $500 annually on electricity costs. The included carrying case makes storage easy and keeps a dependable backup charger available in your trunk for road trips or visiting friends
- Engineered For Safety & Durability: Built for dependable daily use, this electric car charger features an IP65 waterproof rating for all weather operation. Equipped with a UL-listed cable, fully rubberized connector, and advanced protection against overcurrent, overheating, and electrical faults. Designed to ensure safe, stable, and long-term charging performance in demanding environments
- The television pitch created a consumer expectation. Viewers saw a portable charger aimed at an obvious roadside problem, so they reasonably expected to find it in ordinary retail channels.
- The company’s customer changed. SparkCharge increasingly focused on businesses, fleets, and managed charging services rather than individual buyers.
- Commercial infrastructure companies are less visible to consumers. A company can be actively deploying equipment and serving fleets without having a prominent consumer storefront or a widely stocked Amazon listing.
In other words, the absence of a simple retail checkout page is not evidence that SparkCharge closed. In this case, the current product pages, service offering, reported financing, and company-reported deployment figures point in the opposite direction.
Final verdict
SparkCharge survived Shark Tank and appears to have grown, but not in the exact form many viewers expected. The company reportedly secured Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner’s investment, continued raising capital, and transformed its portable-charging idea into a commercial mobile-EV-charging platform.
The Roadie Portable remains active, but it is primarily a configurable product for registered businesses and fleets. SparkCharge’s larger opportunity is now Charging-as-a-Service, mobile fleet charging, and roadside or on-demand deployment—not mass-market sales of a consumer gadget.
