Geely Auto Group’s passenger-car brands are Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr. The wider Zhejiang Geely Holding portfolio also includes separately branded companies such as Volvo Cars, Polestar, Lotus, Proton, smart, and LEVC. Those vehicles are related through the holding company, but they are not Geely-marque models.
The confirmed overseas Geely Auto examples include the electric EX5 (also called E5 in China), the plug-in-hybrid EX5 EM-i or Starray EM-i, New Coolray, Starray, EX2 (the overseas name for Xingyuan), and Emgrand. The exact lineup, name and equipment depend on the country. Geely’s global model pages explicitly warn that appearance, specification and configuration can vary by region, so a model listed internationally is not automatically available for purchase in your country.

EX5 and E5: one electric SUV family under different names
Geely uses E5 for the China-market vehicle and EX5 for overseas markets. The company describes EX5 as a battery-electric SUV. That naming relationship matters when you search news, registration databases or used-car listings: an E5 reference may describe the same underlying model that a local dealer calls EX5.

Do not assume that a Chinese-market trim, battery, software package or safety equipment is identical to the overseas EX5. Geely’s own global pages say local vehicles can differ in appearance, equipment and configuration.
EX5 EM-i and Starray EM-i: the plug-in hybrid is not the electric EX5
The “EM-i” suffix identifies a different powertrain from the battery-electric EX5. Geely says the plug-in-hybrid SUV is called EX5 EM-i in some regions and Starray EM-i in others. It was launched internationally in 2025, including Australia, and later appeared in European and other-market launch announcements.
A listing that says “Starray” without “EM-i” should be checked carefully. The regular Starray and Starray EM-i are treated as separate names in Geely’s overseas model material; the EM-i version is the plug-in hybrid.
New Coolray and Starray
New Coolray and Starray appear on Geely’s global page for models sold in overseas markets. The page is not a country-by-country inventory and does not make every listed model current in every market. Local pages may show different engines, transmissions, safety systems, dimensions, grades or option packages.

EX2 and Emgrand
Geely’s 2025 results announcement identifies Xingyuan as EX2 for overseas markets. The announcement establishes the name conversion, not a universal retail launch schedule or a single specification for every country.
Emgrand is presented as Geely’s global compact sedan. Geely cited sales evidence in Egypt and Qatar, which confirms overseas-market presence there, but it does not prove that Emgrand remains on sale in every other country or that all model years share the same equipment.
Which other Geely-related brands operate outside China?
Geely Auto Group’s official overview names three passenger-vehicle brands: Geely Auto, Lynk & Co and Zeekr. They should be treated as distinct brands when you search a national catalog or importer.

Lynk & Co
Geely reported that the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P launched in 31 overseas markets, including countries in Europe, Mexico, Vietnam and the Philippines. That is a dated launch statement, not a promise that the 08 EM-P remains orderable in all 31 markets in October 2026. A local Lynk & Co site or authorized dealer must confirm current stock, ordering status and the exact model name.

Zeekr
Zeekr is one of Geely Auto Group’s named brands, and Geely has reported international activity for it. The available corporate announcements do not provide a complete, current Zeekr model list for every country. For a purchase decision, use the national Zeekr catalog rather than assuming that a model sold in one launch market is sold in another.
The wider Zhejiang Geely Holding portfolio
Volvo Cars, Polestar, Lotus, Proton, smart and LEVC are separately branded businesses in the wider Geely Holding portfolio or its partner ecosystem. Their vehicles are not Geely Auto models, even where technology, ownership or industrial relationships overlap.
Group-level material also names Livan and Zhidou within the broader portfolio. The available evidence does not establish their current overseas retail availability, so they should not be presented as confirmed cars you can buy outside China without a country-specific source.
How large is Geely’s overseas footprint?
In a March 2026 announcement covering the rollout of E5 and Starray EM-i into five countries, Geely said the two models had launched in more than 40 countries and that the company had reached nearly 20 mainstream European markets. These are company-reported launch and coverage counts. They do not mean every Geely model is sold in every one of those countries, nor that every market offers the same trims.

Geely Automobile Holdings reported 474,000 export vehicles outside China in the first half of 2026, compared with 420,000 vehicles for the full year 2025. The figures are company-reported export totals; the first is a six-month result and the second is a full-year result, so they should not be read as like-for-like annual comparisons.
Why the same car has different names abroad
Geely’s overseas naming is not a simple translation system. It uses regional positioning, certification and product strategy:
- E5 to EX5: the China-market E5 is identified as EX5 in overseas markets.
- Xingyuan to EX2: Geely’s 2025 results announcement gives EX2 as the overseas name.
- EX5 EM-i to Starray EM-i: the plug-in-hybrid SUV uses both names, depending on region.
- Starray versus Starray EM-i: the unqualified Starray name should not be assumed to describe the plug-in-hybrid version.
These aliases can affect insurance searches, vehicle-import paperwork, parts catalogs and used-car listings. Match the vehicle identification number and the local homologation record, not only the badge shown in an online photograph.
How to check what is actually sold in your country
Because model availability changes by market, use this process before treating any name as a current buying option:

- Define the brand scope. Decide whether you mean Geely Auto cars only, or all brands in the wider Geely Holding portfolio. A Volvo, Polestar or Lotus is not a Geely Auto model simply because the companies are connected.
- Open the official country or regional site. Start with the Geely, Lynk & Co or Zeekr site serving your country. If there is no local site, look for the officially named regional distributor.
- Check the live model menu. Record the exact badge, body style, powertrain and trim shown for your market. Do not substitute an image or press-release name for a current order page.
- Verify dealer status. Ask an authorized dealer whether the model is available to order, already in stock, temporarily paused or discontinued. “Launched” can describe an announcement rather than current inventory.
- Confirm the powertrain. Check whether the vehicle is battery-electric, plug-in hybrid or another configuration. In particular, distinguish EX5 from EX5 EM-i and Starray from Starray EM-i.
- Match the legal vehicle identity. For an imported or used car, compare the VIN, homologation certificate and registration description with the local name. This prevents an EX5/E5 or EX2/Xingyuan naming mismatch.
- Check after-sales support. Confirm who supplies parts, software updates, roadside assistance and high-voltage service in your country. A vehicle may have a global launch history without a fully established local service network.
What you can and cannot compare across countries
The evidence supports comparing the documented model names, brands, broad powertrain categories and reported launch markets. It does not support a universal price, driving range, warranty, charging specification, safety grade or equipment comparison. Those details can change with battery size, certification rules, tax treatment, trim and model year.
For example, calling EX5 a battery-electric SUV is supported at the family level. It would not be accurate to quote one country’s range figure as the range for every EX5, or to assume that an Australian Starray EM-i has the same options as a European vehicle. Use the local technical sheet dated for the vehicle you are considering.
A practical overseas lineup summary
- Looking for a Geely-branded electric SUV: check EX5, remembering that E5 is the related China-market name.
- Looking for a Geely plug-in hybrid SUV: search both EX5 EM-i and Starray EM-i, then verify the local listing.
- Looking for a smaller or differently positioned Geely model: check New Coolray, Starray and EX2, but confirm the current country catalog and powertrain.
- Looking for a compact sedan: check Emgrand, with particular attention to local availability and model year.
- Looking beyond the Geely badge: Lynk & Co and Zeekr are Geely Auto Group brands; Volvo Cars, Polestar, Lotus, Proton, smart and LEVC are separate marques in the wider portfolio.
Bottom line for buyers outside China
Geely has a growing, multi-brand overseas presence, but there is no single worldwide showroom list. The most clearly documented Geely Auto exports are EX5/E5, EX5 EM-i/Starray EM-i, New Coolray, Starray, EX2/Xingyuan and Emgrand. Lynk & Co and Zeekr operate as separate Geely Auto Group brands, while Volvo Cars, Polestar, Lotus, Proton, smart and LEVC belong to the wider portfolio rather than the Geely marque.
