For every like-for-like petrol or CNG, manual or AMT combination in CarDekho’s October 12, 2026 comparison, the Tata Aeris Pure Plus costs ₹60,000 more than the Pure before registration, insurance and other on-road charges. That premium buys a substantially more useful cabin interface—a larger 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay—plus four-speaker audio, rear air-conditioning vents, tyre-pressure monitoring, hill-hold assistance, a rear camera and several comfort upgrades.
The Pure is not a bare-bones car: it already has Bluetooth, a semi-digital driver display, four power windows, electrically adjustable mirrors, manual air-conditioning, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, USB-A and USB-C charging ports and steering-mounted audio controls. The sensible choice depends on whether you will use the integrated screen and rear-seat equipment often enough to justify the extra outlay. How much does the Pure Plus cost over the Pure?
CarDekho’s October 12, 2026 comparison keeps the upgrade at exactly ₹60,000 for all four matching powertrain and transmission combinations. The figures are ex-showroom, so they do not represent the final amount paid to register and insure the car.

What the Pure already gives you
Before treating Pure Plus as the only well-equipped version, check what is already included in Pure. The lower trim has the equipment needed for everyday driving and phone-based media:
- A semi-digital driver’s display.
- Four power windows and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors.
- Manual air-conditioning.
- A height-adjustable driver’s seat.
- USB-A and USB-C charging ports.
- Steering-mounted audio controls.
- Bluetooth connectivity through the display/BYOD arrangement, according to CarDekho.
That last point matters. A Pure owner can pair a phone for calls and audio, and can use the phone itself for navigation. If you do not need a built-in touchscreen, rear-seat ventilation or the additional monitoring and camera equipment, the Pure retains the lower purchase price without removing these basic conveniences.
The Pure Plus additions, feature by feature
8-inch touchscreen with wireless phone projection
The most visible change is the 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. It supports wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, so a compatible phone can provide navigation, music, messaging and voice functions without a cable running to the dashboard. This is a different experience from Pure’s Bluetooth/BYOD setup: the phone’s apps appear through the car’s screen, and the driver can use the vehicle interface rather than handling the handset.
Wireless projection still depends on phone compatibility and a stable connection. It does not turn the car into an independent internet-connected system; the phone supplies the apps and data. Demonstrate pairing with your own handset during the delivery inspection.
Four-speaker audio system
Pure Plus is listed with four speakers. The sources do not specify the Pure’s speaker count, so do not assume that the upgrade is a particular number of additional speakers without checking the exact build. The practical gain is a factory audio system integrated with the touchscreen and wireless phone projection.

Rear camera
A rear camera is listed for Pure Plus, supplementing the rear parking sensors that CarDekho says are present on both trims. The camera gives a visual view behind the car while reversing, which can make it easier to judge low obstacles and parking lines. It is an assistance feature, not a substitute for checking mirrors and the surroundings; camera image quality and guide-line behavior should be verified on the vehicle you are buying.
Rear air-conditioning vents
Rear AC vents direct cooled air toward second-row passengers instead of relying solely on airflow from the front dashboard. They are most useful when the car regularly carries adults in the back or when the cabin needs to cool quickly after being parked in the sun. The vents do not create a separate rear climate zone; temperature and fan settings remain controlled from the front system.
Tyre-pressure monitoring
Tyre-pressure monitoring (TPMS) is listed among the Pure Plus additions. It can alert the driver to a pressure problem before a visibly deflated tyre becomes obvious. Ask the dealer whether the displayed system reports individual tyre pressures or only a warning, and learn the reset procedure after a puncture repair or tyre rotation.
Hill-hold assistance
Hill-hold helps prevent rollback when moving away on an incline by briefly maintaining brake pressure after the driver releases the pedal. It is particularly useful in traffic on ramps and steep streets. It does not replace smooth clutch or accelerator control in a manual car, and it should not be treated as an automatic parking brake.
Front and rear armrests
Pure Plus is listed with armrests for both rows. A front armrest can make longer drives less tiring, while a rear armrest can provide a more relaxed seating position for passengers. Check the physical design in the showroom: an armrest may also affect the usable width of the middle seating position when folded down.

65W Type-C charger
The trim includes a 65W Type-C charging provision. The actual charging rate depends on the phone, cable and thermal conditions; a 65W-rated outlet does not force every device to accept 65W. Bring the cable you normally use and confirm that the port is accessible with the front seats in your preferred position.

A shark-fin antenna is listed on Pure Plus. It is primarily an exterior styling and antenna-housing change rather than a function that independently adds navigation or connectivity. Confirm which radio and communication functions it serves on the delivered car.
Cruise control on manual versions
Autocar India states that manual Pure Plus versions also receive cruise control, and CarDekho’s comparison narrative mentions cruise control. The listing is version-specific, so confirm that the exact fuel-and-transmission combination on your booking form includes the feature. Cruise control maintains a set speed in suitable conditions; it does not provide adaptive distance control or relieve the driver of supervision.
Wheel and exterior differences by fuel
Autocar lists 15-inch styled steel wheels on petrol Pure Plus versions and 14-inch wheels on CNG versions. Because wheel size and design are tied to the powertrain, compare the same fuel type when judging appearance, tyre replacement and ride-related considerations. Do not assume that the petrol wheel specification applies to a CNG car.
Safety equipment: what changes and what does not
CarDekho lists six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and rear parking sensors for both Pure and Pure Plus. It identifies TPMS and hill-hold as Pure Plus additions. Autocar’s Pure Plus listing includes stability control, the rear camera, hill-hold and TPMS. Because the two listings describe stability control differently, have the dealer read the equipment sheet for your exact variant and model year.

The rear camera, TPMS and hill-hold add information or assistance for daily driving, but they are not evidence of a different crash-test result. The supplied variant information contains no trim-specific independent crash-test comparison, so the equipment list should not be presented as proof that Pure Plus offers superior crash protection.
Choose the same powertrain before comparing trims
Both trims are shown with petrol and factory CNG choices, and each fuel type can be paired with a manual gearbox or an AMT. The ₹60,000 comparison is meaningful only when fuel and transmission are held constant. For example, compare Petrol MT Pure with Petrol MT Pure Plus, not Petrol MT with CNG AMT.
- Petrol: the simpler comparison for buyers who want the petrol powertrain and either transmission option.
- CNG manual or AMT: useful when fuel choice is already decided; the CNG-specific wheel listing means the equipment check should be done on that version.
- Manual: verify cruise-control availability on the exact Pure Plus manual variant.
- AMT: compare the AMT Pure with AMT Pure Plus so the transmission cost is not mistaken for trim equipment.
Fuel preference, expected annual mileage, access to CNG refuelling and tolerance for manual or automated-manual driving should be settled before deciding whether the trim upgrade is worthwhile.

Pure is the rational fit when the following description matches your use:
- You are comfortable using a phone for navigation and music, with Bluetooth handling calls and audio.
- Most trips have one or two occupants, so rear AC vents and a rear armrest are low priorities.
- You are willing to reverse using mirrors and rear sensors rather than requiring a camera view.
- You prefer to keep the initial ex-showroom and financed amount as low as possible.
- Your local dealer’s Pure Plus on-road premium grows beyond the quoted ex-showroom difference because of taxes or insurance.
Pure also avoids paying for equipment that may spend most of its life unused. A buyer who never projects a phone screen or carries rear passengers regularly may value the saved money more than the convenience features.

When Pure Plus is easier to justify
Pure Plus is the stronger match when the following are regular requirements:
- You want wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay displayed on the vehicle’s screen rather than relying on the phone itself.
- Rear passengers frequently travel with you and will benefit from dedicated vents and an armrest.
- You want TPMS, hill-hold and a rear camera as part of the factory equipment package.
- You expect to use cruise control and are selecting a manual version that the dealer confirms includes it.
- You plan to keep the car for several years and prefer factory-integrated equipment over adding or mounting aftermarket devices.
These are usage-based reasons, not a laboratory measure of value. Neither source quantifies how much owners use each feature, and there is no published survey establishing a universal rupee value for the upgrade.
How to compare the real on-road difference
Start with the ex-showroom pair for your chosen fuel and transmission, then request written, itemised quotations for both trims from the same dealer on the same day. Compare:

- Ex-showroom price for the identical powertrain and transmission.
- Registration or road tax applicable in your state.
- Insurance premium and the selected coverage.
- Any handling, documentation or optional-package charges.
- Dealer discount, exchange benefit or finance-linked offer shown on each quote.
- Final amount payable and the resulting loan principal, if you are financing.
Autocar’s Delhi on-road figures illustrate why location matters, but they are not a substitute for your local quotation. Prices and availability can change, so date the quote and ask how long it remains valid.
Dealer inspection checklist
Before signing, use the exact variant name and physically verify the equipment rather than relying on a generic brochure:
- Confirm the fuel type, transmission and model year printed on the booking form.
- Pair your Android or Apple phone with the 8-inch system and test wireless projection.
- Play audio through the four-speaker system and check steering controls.
- Engage reverse to verify the camera image, parking sensors and display switching.
- Locate the rear AC vents, front and rear armrests and the 65W Type-C port.
- Ask how TPMS warnings are shown and how the system is reset after tyre service.
- Test hill-hold on a safe incline with a trained salesperson, not in traffic.
- On a manual car, confirm cruise-control buttons and operation if the feature is important to you.
- Check the wheel size and tyre specification against the petrol or CNG version you ordered.

What the ₹60,000 decision really comes down to
Pure Plus is not simply a cosmetic step up. Its strongest functional differences are the integrated wireless phone interface, rear ventilation, TPMS, hill-hold and rear camera, supported by extra charging and seating convenience. Pure already covers core controls, Bluetooth connectivity and everyday electrical equipment, so it remains a defensible choice for buyers who are happy with a phone-led setup.
Make the decision using the exact car you will drive, the passengers you will carry and the on-road quotation you receive. The available sources establish equipment and listed prices, but they do not establish a universal verdict that every buyer receives ₹60,000 of equal value from Pure Plus.
