It changes the car’s aerodynamic surfaces, adds a four-way adjustable coilover suspension, upgrades the brake plumbing, and offers lighter forged wheels with carbon aerodiscs. Manthey says a complete 992.2-equipped car generates 540 kg of total downforce at 285 km/h. The company’s latest cited Nordschleife time is 6:50.863, recorded with optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres.
What the Manthey Kit is—and what it is not
Manthey developed the kit for owners who use a 911 GT3 on track but still need a road-approved package. Porsche describes Manthey kits broadly as coordinated upgrades to aerodynamics, chassis, brakes and lightweight wheels. For the current Type 992.2 GT3, the package is engineered as one system: the aero parts increase the loads that the suspension must control, while the spring and damper changes are intended to keep the car usable under those higher loads.

This is separate from the Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS. The RS package has different hardware and performance claims. It is also important to distinguish the current 992.2 kit from the earlier 992.1 GT3 kit; component designs, spring rates and lap-time references are generation-specific.
Aerodynamics: more downforce from a complete body-and-underbody package
The most visible change is the expanded aerodynamic package. Manthey lists the following 992.2 components:

- Extended underbody fins or turning vanes.
- Front-diffuser fins and an underbody cover.
- A carbon-fibre rear wing.
- A rear diffuser with carbon fins.
- Carbon aerodiscs for the wheels.
These parts work together to manage airflow under the nose, along the floor and around the rear of the car. The underbody pieces and diffuser fins are intended to create and preserve a cleaner low-pressure flow beneath the GT3, while the larger rear-wing assembly supplies the rear axle with matching aerodynamic load. The aerodiscs smooth airflow around the wheels, an area that normally creates substantial turbulence. The practical result is a car designed to maintain more tyre load as speed rises, rather than simply adding a decorative wing.
The 540 kg figure needs context
Manthey’s current 992.2 product information claims 540 kg of total downforce at 285 km/h for a car fitted with the complete kit. That is a manufacturer figure for the kit-equipped configuration; the published material does not provide a directly comparable standard-GT3 downforce number. Treat it as a specification claim, not an independent test result, and do not assume the same load at every speed or with every optional configuration.
More downforce normally brings more aerodynamic drag and greater sensitivity to ride height, pitch and setup. Manthey’s matched-package approach matters for that reason: changing only one surface can upset the balance between front and rear axles. The company says the components are precisely coordinated and recommends installing the complete package, although some listed options may be available separately.
Suspension: four-way adjustable coilovers and higher front spring rates
The kit replaces the standard dampers with a special four-way coilover suspension. Porsche says the struts permit rebound and compression adjustment without tools. That lets an owner or track engineer alter damping at the circuit instead of relying on fixed factory settings.

“Four-way” describes independent adjustment channels within the damper system; the manufacturer materials specifically identify rebound and compression adjustment and the tool-free design. They do not publish a universal road or track click setting, so there is no single correct number for every tyre, circuit or weather condition. A sensible setup process is to record the delivered settings, change one axle or one adjustment pair at a time, and keep notes for each circuit.
What changed from the 992.1 kit
Porsche reports that the 992.2 kit’s front spring rates are 10 percent higher than those of the preceding 992.1 Manthey Kit. The stated reason is the newer car’s increased aerodynamic load. A stiffer front spring helps support the nose under high-speed compression and braking, but it also means that ride-height checks and alignment become more important. The 10 percent comparison is against the prior Manthey kit, not against the standard 992.2 GT3 spring.
The coilovers are therefore more than a comfort adjustment. They provide a way to keep the chassis platform controlled as speed and downforce build, while allowing the owner to soften or firm damping for a particular track surface. Exact setup work should be done with the car at its intended ride height, on the tyres being used and with the normal fuel load documented.
Brakes: standard braided lines, optional pads
Porsche says braided steel brake lines are included as standard in the 992.2 Manthey Kit. Braided lines are intended to reduce hose expansion under repeated high-temperature braking, giving the pedal a more consistent feel during a track session.

Manthey lists brake-pad sets as optional, separately available components. The available information does not establish a different caliper or rotor specification, so the kit should not be described as a wholesale brake-system replacement. Pad choice remains a consumable and operating decision: a track-oriented compound can provide more temperature margin on circuit but may create additional noise, dust or cold-performance compromises on the road. Confirm the exact pad specification and road legality for your market before ordering.
Wheels and carbon aerodiscs: optional mass reduction
Porsche offers lightweight forged 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels as an option. Porsche says these wheels reduce unsprung mass by 13.2 lb compared with the standard wheels. Because unsprung mass moves with the tyre and suspension, reducing it can help the suspension follow bumps and can make steering and transient responses feel more immediate. The quoted reduction is Porsche’s comparison for the specified wheel configurations; it is not a promise of a particular lap-time gain.
Manthey also lists a lightweight wheel set and carbon aerodiscs. The discs are part of the aerodynamic package, while the forged wheels address mass. They are related choices but not the same component, and availability can depend on the exact car, market and brake clearance. Ask a Porsche Centre to confirm wheel sizes, tyre compatibility, sensors and replacement-part support for your VIN.

The table compares the generations only where the published information supports a direct statement. A 992.1 component should not be assumed to fit a 992.2, and a lap-time difference should not be interpreted as the effect of one isolated part.

What the lap-time claims actually show
Manthey’s 12 October 2026 update reports a 6:50.863-minute lap of the 20.832-kilometre Nürburgring Nordschleife, driven by Porsche works driver Ayhancan Güven. Manthey says the time is 4.874 seconds faster than the 992.1 911 GT3 with Manthey Kit. Both comparison cars used the optionally available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres, and Manthey says a notary was present for the official time.
Porsche had previously reported a 6:52.981-minute 992.2 lap in less favourable conditions, describing it as 2.76 seconds faster than the previous-generation kit car. The later 6:50.863 run is the newest result cited here and supersedes that earlier reference as the headline 992.2 time.
These figures describe a particular car, driver, tyre, setup and track session. They demonstrate what the complete package achieved in Manthey’s test, not what every customer will run. Tyre temperature, fuel load, weather, traffic, track evolution and driver experience can each move a Nordschleife time by more than the differences often attributed to a single component. The Cup 2 R tyre was part of both cited comparison cars, so the time cannot be credited to the kit alone or to the tyre alone.
Road use, warranty and package installation
Manthey states that road approval and the factory warranty remain unchanged with the kit. Porsche says the package is available through Porsche Centres worldwide, while its United States announcement forecast availability from spring 2026 and said market-specific pricing would be announced closer to launch. No current universal price is established here; pricing, taxes, labour and option availability vary by country.

Before committing, have the Porsche Centre confirm that the parts are approved for your registration market and match your exact 992.2 specification. Ask for the complete installed configuration rather than assuming an online component list represents a usable mix of parts.
Installation checklist
- Provide the vehicle identification number and confirm that the car is a Type 992.2 911 GT3, not a GT3 RS or 992.1.
- Review the complete aero, coilover, brake-line and wheel specification, including which items are optional.
- Confirm wheel, tyre, brake-clearance and tyre-pressure requirements for your intended use.
- Have the kit installed and the suspension aligned at the specified ride height.
- Record damper settings, alignment values and corner weights if the car will be used regularly on track.
- After the first track session, inspect fasteners, tyre wear, brake temperatures and underbody clearance before making setup changes.
Who benefits most from the kit?
Frequent track drivers
The strongest case is for an owner who attends high-speed track days often enough to use adjustable damping, additional aerodynamic load and repeated-braking hardware. The ability to document and repeat a setup is more valuable than a single aggressive setting.
Occasional track users
An occasional driver may value the factory-supported, road-approved integration but may not exploit the four-way adjustment. Tyres, alignment, driver coaching and consumables can be more productive first steps if the car is otherwise standard and the owner is still learning the circuit.

The kit remains road approved according to Manthey, but its purpose is high-load driving. Added aero hardware, firmer springing and track-oriented brake-pad options can increase operating cost and may make poor road surfaces less pleasant. The decision should be based on how often the car is driven quickly enough for the package to work as intended, not on the headline lap time alone.
What is not established by the published information
- No independent third-party downforce measurement is provided for the 540 kg claim.
- No standard-GT3 downforce figure is supplied for a direct before-and-after calculation.
- No universal damper settings, alignment specification or customer lap-time guarantee is published.
- The material does not establish a different caliper or rotor specification for the 992.2 kit.
- Current market pricing and exact availability by country must be confirmed with a Porsche Centre.
In practical terms, the Manthey Kit changes how the 992.2 GT3 manages air, suspension load, braking consistency and unsprung mass. Its measurable claims belong to the complete, correctly configured package tested by Manthey; selecting parts piecemeal or using different tyres creates a different car.
