Tesla describes the Cybertruck’s body panels as stainless steel, and its current product page does not show a conventional factory body-paint color lineup. For a physical color change, Tesla offers vinyl wraps through participating Service Centers; the Paint Shop on the touchscreen changes only the vehicle’s digital appearance.
What is the Cybertruck’s standard exterior color?
The standard appearance is the exposed stainless-steel body, not a choice from a factory paint palette. Tesla describes the body panels as stainless steel on its Cybertruck product page. That page does not list multiple factory body colors.
Stainless steel can change subtly as it ages. Tesla says minor changes in reflectivity and color are normal; its exterior-cleaning guidance also notes that the panels do not have a clear coat.
Does the Cybertruck come in black?
Tesla’s service manual lists Shield Black (NUE-286E) as a vehicle paint code. That entry is not proof that customers can order every Cybertruck with a factory-applied black body finish; Tesla’s product page describes stainless-steel body panels and does not publish a body-color lineup.

The same manual lists Stealth Black (NEU-208E) for the 20-inch wheel and wheel cover. That is a wheel finish, not a body color. See Tesla’s Vehicle and Wheel Paint Codes for the separate entries.
Ways to change the Cybertruck’s appearance

How Tesla’s physical wrap option works
Tesla says Cybertruck Vinyl Wraps are available through participating Service Centers. The purchase price includes the wrap materials and installation. Tesla does not publish a universal color list on its Vinyl Wraps support page; its FAQ says available choices are discussed at the initial service visit. Confirm participation, colors, and price with a Service Center in your area before making plans.

Aftermarket alternatives exist, but the products are not interchangeable by name: paint protection film (PPF) is a different product category from color vinyl. For example, TesBros lists a pre-cut Cybertruck color PPF kit, while TWRAPS lists full-body kits in clear PPF, color PPF, and color vinyl, with a tool-kit option. These listings establish that such kits are offered; they do not establish a particular kit’s performance, suitability for every vehicle, or current stock.
Tesla advises using genuine parts and accessories and cautions that non-approved parts or modifications can affect safety, performance, or warranty coverage. What the Paint Shop changes—and what it does not
The touchscreen Paint Shop is for digital customization. Tesla’s Cybertruck Owner’s Manual, North America, software version 2026.32, says Paint Shop can change the displayed exterior color and use custom wrap images loaded from USB. It does not change the physical stainless-steel body or install a wrap. Tesla provides Paint Shop instructions in the owner’s manual and custom-wrap templates and import steps for creating digital designs.

Tesla says to remove corrosive substances promptly and notes that the exterior panels do not have clear coat. For scratches, Tesla directs owners to its refinishing procedure, which is intended for trained professional technicians. Use the Tesla exterior-cleaning instructions rather than assuming paint-care methods apply to the stainless-steel panels.
