Barbie drives a vivid pink Corvette in Barbie. Mattel’s remote-control version identifies the film-inspired car as a 1956 Corvette Stingray, while its separate collectible convertible and die-cast models are distinct toys—not identical replicas of one another.
What kind of car is Barbie’s movie car?
It is presented as a Corvette. Mattel’s description of the Hot Wheels RC Barbie Corvette (HPW40) calls that remote-control toy a 1956 Corvette Stingray based on the movie. That model-specific description is the clearest identification available here; it should not be taken to mean that every Barbie movie-car toy is the same product or specification.
Why is the car so toy-like?
The pink convertible is designed to belong in Barbie Land, not to read as an ordinary production-car depiction. In reporting published June 27, 2023, TIME described how the life-size car was carefully created as a model and scaled up with a mathematical formula to help make the film’s world look toy-like. The car was made a little small for Margot Robbie, echoing the way a doll’s convertible is too small for Barbie.
Which Barbie movie Corvette toy is which?
Mattel sells or has listed several distinct versions inspired by the film. Their formats and features differ, so compare the product and SKU rather than assuming they share the same scale or play features.

How to choose between the toy versions
First decide whether you want a display-oriented collectible, a remote-control car, or a small die-cast model. Then check the individual listing for doll capacity, working features, scale, and current stock. The four-doll capacity and $75 displayed price belong to HPK02 only; the RC car’s speed and two-doll capacity belong to HPW40.
Mattel’s product page calls the HPK02 collectible a “bubblegum-pink beauty” that “looks like it cruised right off the big screen.” Its U.S. listing currently displays Sold Out, so check the listing for updated availability rather than assuming it is in stock.
