Integra sales fell again in 2025; TLX sales edged up from a very low 2024 base but remained well below their 2023 level. Acura’s overall sales, meanwhile, rose slightly, with SUVs accounting for most of its volume.
What happened to Acura sedan sales?
Acura’s calendar-year U.S. totals show sharply different paths for the Integra and TLX. The percentages below are manufacturer-reported year-over-year changes.

Integra: declining for a second year
The Integra lost 7,692 sales from 2023 to 2024, then another 4,220 in 2025. Its 2025 total was about 37% below its 2023 total. The modern Integra returned to the U.S. lineup in 2022, so older Integra generations should not be treated as a continuous same-generation sales series. Honda’s historical factbook notes the nameplate lineage includes the RSX.

TLX: a modest rebound, not a recovery to 2023 volume
TLX sales rose by 552 in 2025, or 7.4%, after falling by more than half in 2024. The increase is a rebound from 7,478, not a return to the 2023 total of 16,731. Honda’s historical figures also show 63,580 TLX sales in 2018; that longer comparison describes the nameplate’s past volume, not a forecast or a direct explanation for the recent decline.
Acura grew slightly overall as SUVs outsold its sedans
Acura sold 132,367 vehicles in the U.S. in 2024, down 9.1% from 2023, then 133,433 in 2025, up 0.8% from 2024. Its 2025 model totals put the difference in scale in context:

These are calendar-year U.S. totals in Honda’s 2026 Digital FactBook. Together, the four SUV and crossover models sold 105,225 units, compared with 28,208 for the Integra and TLX combined. Acura’s 2025 sales report says growth was driven by gateway models and SUVs; it also says supply shortages affected key models and that improved supply helped MDX and RDX in December. That explanation concerns the models the company identified and does not establish the cause of either sedan’s sales trend.
Do Infiniti and Lexus point to a wider Japanese-sedan decline?
The available comparisons show weakness in selected Infiniti nameplates, but do not support a single conclusion about every Japanese luxury car or sports model.

Infiniti and Nissan figures are from Nissan’s 2025 U.S. sales report. Lexus’s 2025 brand total and growth rate are from Toyota Motor North America’s 2025 U.S. sales report. A rising Lexus brand total cannot establish that Lexus sedan sales rose, just as weak Q50 results cannot establish the direction of every Japanese luxury sedan.

Sales totals count completed transactions over a stated period. They are useful for comparing reported model volume from year to year, but they do not independently explain why buyers did or did not purchase a vehicle.

- They establish model-level direction. Integra sales fell in both 2024 and 2025; TLX sales rose slightly in 2025 after a much larger 2024 decline.
- They show Acura’s sales mix. In 2025, its listed SUVs and crossover sold substantially more units than its two cars.
- They do not establish cause. The figures alone cannot separate buyer preference from pricing, product timing, supply, or other influences.
- They do not measure profitability or predict a nameplate’s future. A sales decline is not, by itself, proof that a model will be discontinued.
- They are not a complete market study. A claim about all Japanese luxury or sports sedans would require a defined set of models, consistent body-style treatment, and comparable model-level data over multiple years.
All figures discussed here are U.S. calendar-year sales, not global totals or sales in another market. Acura’s figures therefore signal that its sedans face pressure relative to its SUVs, while leaving the broader future of Japanese luxury and sports sedans unresolved.
