The $7.7 million figure attached to Volkner’s Bugatti-stowing Performance S was a 2021 report of the combined motorhome-and-car package—not a verified current price for the motorhome alone. At the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon, the German maker displayed a Performance S adapted to carry a Bugatti Chiron in a garage built into the coach. The pairing was an elaborate show configuration, not evidence that every Performance S can take a Chiron without modification.
What the $7.7 million figure covered
New Atlas reported on August 30, 2021, that the package on display totaled €6.5 million, then about $7.7 million. Its figure included the Performance S, a Bugatti Chiron and upgrades. The same report put the Performance S at €2,035,000 (about $2.4 million) before the Chiron and upgrades. MotorTrend also covered the display in September 2021 and reported approximate package values. Neither historical dollar conversion is a current quote or today’s price for a coach on its own.
New Atlas separately put the custom Burmester audio system at €300,000 (about $354,000) and reported the Chiron’s output as 1,480 hp. Those are figures attributed to its 2021 account, not current pricing or a specification for every Performance S.
How the motorhome carries a Chiron
The Performance S is a 12-meter luxury motorhome. Volkner describes a patented garage positioned centrally between the axles, with a hydraulic platform that moves the car in and out. The platform can also stabilize and level the coach; when the car is unloaded, it can be used as a terrace.

Volkner says a custom build can include an extension for a Bugatti Chiron. That qualification matters: the Chiron arrangement was a bespoke adaptation, not a guarantee that a Chiron fits every version of the motorhome. The manufacturer’s current product page lists a garage dimension of up to 4,700 mm, but that model-page figure should not be treated as confirmation that a particular car fits a particular coach. Buyers would need to confirm dimensions and configuration directly for the vehicle and build in question.
Inside the 2021 show coach
New Atlas described the display vehicle with a front lounge and rear bedroom, plus a driver-side wall slide that expanded the living area. The reported amenities included an induction cooktop, oven, microwave, espresso machine, wine cabinet, computer workstation and multi-zone heating. These details describe the reported show configuration rather than a promise of standard equipment on every coach.

The show build also had a custom multi-zone Burmester audio system. Volkner currently describes its collaboration with Burmester as a custom installation; the 2021 report’s price for that system should not be read as the cost of a standard factory option.
2021 show equipment versus current model specifications
The figures below come from different contexts: New Atlas’s account of the 2021 display vehicle and Volkner’s current Performance S product page. They should not be combined into one specification sheet for the show coach.

The current page’s “up to” figures are model specifications, not proof that every individual build has the maximum listed capacity. Likewise, the show coach’s reported 2,000-W solar array and 8-kW generator are historical equipment details, not guaranteed current standard equipment.

The striking feature was not simply that a luxury coach and a supercar appeared together: Volkner engineered a central garage and a hydraulic platform into the motorhome, then adapted the arrangement for a Chiron. The scale of the reported package price also reflected the car and bespoke upgrades, including the custom audio installation. The $7.7 million headline is therefore best understood as a 2021 valuation of that specific pairing, not the standalone price of a standard Performance S.
