The company named NexMove Certified as its initial U.S. partner and says demonstration vehicles are planned at Zeem charging locations before certification is complete. The announcement describes a future market entry—not certified buses already operating in U.S. transit fleets.
When will VinFast electric buses come to the US?
VinFast said deliveries of buses that have completed the required U.S. homologation are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2028. That timing is a forecast from the company’s October 6, 2026 announcement, not a completed delivery milestone. The announcement does not provide a delivery schedule by model or customer.
Before certification is complete, NexMove plans to place demonstration vehicles at Zeem charging locations for transit agencies and fleet operators to view and evaluate. Those demonstrations are not evidence that the vehicles are certified or ready for public-service operation. The announcement says customer handover is expected from 2028 for vehicles meeting applicable certification and road-use requirements.
Who is VinFast partnering with for its US electric buses?
The named initial partner is NexMove Certified, which the announcement describes as a joint venture of Transportation Management Services and Zeem Solutions. VinFast and NexMove present the offering as service-oriented, although detailed service-contract terms have not been disclosed.

Zeem’s charging locations are part of the planned demonstration program. VinFast North America CEO Brian Finnerty characterized the move as “an important step in our long-term investment strategy in the market.” That is the company’s description of its strategy, not an independent assessment of the plan’s prospects.
The announcement also reports a NexMove commitment of up to 97% vehicle availability. This is a company-reported commitment, not a measured result from buses operating in U.S. fleets; the announcement does not set out detailed terms for the commitment.

Which VinFast bus models and specifications are confirmed for the US?
The October 2026 U.S. announcement does not identify final U.S. model names or specifications. VinFast’s product page describes its European EB 8 and EB 12, but those figures should not be treated as confirmed U.S. configurations:

They do not establish U.S.-certified capacity, battery, charging configuration, range, or other procurement specifications. In August 2025, VinFast said the EB 12 was homologated under UNECE and CE regulations; that is European regulatory context, not U.S. homologation.

What does VinFast’s existing bus record establish?
VinFast’s 2025 Form 20-F, filed with the SEC in 2026, says its electric buses were available for sale in Vietnam and Europe and reports 708 e-bus deliveries through December 31, 2025. This provides context for the company’s activity in those markets, but it is not evidence of U.S. fleet performance.

The October 6 announcement does not disclose U.S. pricing, final U.S. specifications, delivery quantities, named U.S. transit-agency customers, completed U.S. homologation, or detailed service-contract terms. The first-quarter 2028 target and the up-to-97% availability commitment may be refined or change.

For transit agencies and fleet operators assessing the plan, the key open questions are the certified vehicle configuration and performance, the procurement and delivery terms, and how maintenance and availability will be defined in a service agreement. Until those details are published, the European models are useful product context, not a substitute for a confirmed U.S. offering.
