The 2028 Jaguar Type 01 is a dramatically long, four-door electric sedan with a rear design that forgoes a conventional rear window. Car and Driver’s October 7, 2026, exterior gallery shows the unveiled car from multiple angles and describes its production design as closely resembling Jaguar’s 2024 concept.

What to look for in the Type 01 exterior photos
A long, low sedan profile
The gallery presents the Type 01 as an avant-garde four-door sedan, notable for its dramatically long body and hood. Its overall shape carries forward much of the look of Jaguar’s 2024 concept, according to Car and Driver’s gallery.
An unconventional rear
At the back, the design omits a traditional rear window and uses thin, concealed taillights. Those are visual descriptions of the pictured car; they do not establish how well drivers can see out, how practical the rear design is, or whether every detail will remain unchanged on customer-delivery vehicles.

What is known about the 2028 Jaguar Type 01
Car and Driver’s October 7, 2026, reveal coverage reports Jaguar figures of 1,015 horsepower and 1,007 lb-ft of torque from three electric motors, plus a 118-kWh battery and a Jaguar-estimated range of more than 400 miles. These are reported manufacturer claims, not independent test results or regulatory range certification.
Car and Driver also reports Jaguar estimates of about 22 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent using a 350-kW DC charger and about 13 minutes to add 200 miles. Separately, the outlet estimates highway range could be closer to 320 miles at a steady 75 mph; that is Car and Driver’s estimate, not Jaguar’s stated range or a completed standardized test.

For timing and price, Car and Driver reported expected customer deliveries in mid-2027 and an anticipated price of $120,000 to $130,000, while noting pricing was not finalized. Edmunds’ October 6, 2026, preview expected U.S. showroom arrival in the second half of 2027 and a price around $130,000; Edmunds said official range figures had not yet been released in its coverage. These previews are not final sale specifications, and expected timing and pricing may change.
