For a UK buyer choosing among these three, the Vauxhall Corsa is the only model with petrol, hybrid and fully electric versions established in current UK manufacturer information. The Suzuki Swift is a petrol mild hybrid, while the SEAT Ibiza price list dated 1 April 2026 covers petrol 1.0 TSI cars. That distinction should come before comparing prices or fuel figures: a mild hybrid still uses petrol and does not plug in, whereas a battery-electric Corsa needs dependable access to charging.
The sensible choice depends on your regular mileage, long-trip pattern, passengers and luggage, and whether you can charge at home or at a reliable public point. The figures below are official UK WLTP or manufacturer-list data, not promises of real-world consumption, range or total ownership cost.

Which car offers petrol, hybrid and electric power?
The three cars do not provide the same type of choice. Vauxhall describes the Corsa as available with petrol, petrol-hybrid and 100% electric power, and its UK configurator lists 1.2-litre petrol, hybrid and battery-electric derivatives. The hybrid Corsa is designed to operate without charging cables; the electric Corsa is a separate battery-electric model. See the Corsa overview and Vauxhall configurator for the currently displayed combinations.

Suzuki describes the 2024 Swift range as a 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with mild-hybrid technology. Manual and CVT transmission choices are offered. It is not a battery-electric Swift: the battery assists the petrol engine but is not a substitute for filling the tank.
| Model | Powertrains established in UK sources | What that means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Vauxhall Corsa | 1.2-litre petrol, petrol hybrid and battery electric | Widest choice here. Pick conventional refuelling, non-plug-in hybrid assistance or electric driving. |
| SEAT Ibiza | 1.0 TSI petrol, 95PS or 115PS; manual or DSG on specified derivatives | Petrol-only choice in the 1 April 2026 UK list. |
| Suzuki Swift | 1.2-litre petrol with mild-hybrid assistance; manual or CVT | Petrol car with energy-recovery assistance, not a plug-in or battery-electric car. |
Choose the powertrain before the badge
Petrol: simplest if you do not want charging
A petrol Corsa or Ibiza uses the familiar pattern of filling the tank and continuing a journey. The Swift adds mild-hybrid assistance, but it still relies on petrol. Petrol can be the least disruptive option for drivers who park on the street, make irregular long trips, or do not have a dependable public-charging routine. It also avoids planning around charging stops, although fuel prices and consumption remain significant running-cost inputs.
Mild hybrid: electric assistance, not electric driving
The Swift’s mild-hybrid system and the Corsa’s petrol-hybrid version can recover energy during deceleration and use it to assist the engine. That can smooth stop-start driving and reduce the amount of engine work in some conditions, but neither car becomes a zero-emission vehicle at the tailpipe and neither is charged from a domestic socket. If your requirement is to drive most daily miles on electricity, a mild hybrid does not meet it.
Battery electric: worthwhile only with a charging plan
The Corsa Electric is the only fully electric model among these three in the cited UK manufacturer information. Vauxhall advertises up to 266 miles of WLTP range, with the exact displayed range varying by powertrain and trim. That makes the car a candidate for drivers who can charge at home or reliably at work or nearby, but the headline figure should not be treated as a guaranteed distance in winter, at motorway speeds or with a loaded car. Public charging availability, tariffs and queueing can matter as much as the laboratory range.
How the advertised figures compare
Official figures are useful for comparing versions tested under the same regulatory procedure, but they are not a controlled real-world test of these three cars against one another. The manufacturers’ documents were issued or displayed on different dates and refer to different derivatives.
| Figure | Model and version | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 266 miles WLTP | Vauxhall Corsa Electric | Maximum advertised by Vauxhall; the configurator shows a different figure for some versions and trims. Source page observed 13 October 2026. |
| 54.32 mpg combined; 117 g/km CO2 | Vauxhall Corsa YES 1.2 Turbo Petrol 100PS Manual | Configuration-specific manufacturer display observed 13 October 2026; not a real-world promise. |
| 57.6–64.2 mpg combined WLTP | Suzuki Swift 2024 range | Range across the stated Swift range, not a like-for-like result against one Ibiza or Corsa derivative. |
| 95PS and 115PS 1.0 TSI petrol | SEAT Ibiza | Power outputs and transmission availability are listed by derivative in the UK price/specification list dated 1 April 2026. |
SEAT explicitly warns that real-life consumption can change with weather, driving style, vehicle load and accessories. The same caution applies when interpreting the Corsa and Swift WLTP numbers. A heavier trim, larger wheels, cold weather, fast motorway travel or a full passenger load can all move results away from the test-cycle value.

Prices: use dated, matched comparisons
The current Vauxhall configurator displayed a Corsa YES 1.2 Turbo Petrol 100PS Manual at £20,090 on the road when checked on 13 October 2026. The same configurator also displayed electric and hybrid prices for selected configurations, but a valid comparison requires selecting the exact trim, battery or engine and equipment on each car. Prices can change, so this is a dated page snapshot rather than a permanent market-wide quote.

It also lists more expensive trims and automatic versions. The document explains what is included in its recommended OTR figures and advises checking a retailer for current pricing.
No comparable Suzuki Swift on-the-road price appears in the cited Suzuki UK information. Do not infer that its mild-hybrid system makes it cheaper or more expensive than either rival without selecting a current UK trim and obtaining a quote.

What each car is best suited to
Vauxhall Corsa: the only one that can match three different ownership plans
Choose the Corsa when you want the freedom to decide between petrol, a non-plug-in hybrid and battery-electric driving within one model line. A petrol Corsa suits conventional refuelling; the hybrid can add electric assistance without installing a charger; and the Corsa Electric can cover daily travel on electricity if charging is practical. The trade-off is that you must compare the exact derivative rather than assuming every Corsa has the same range, performance, equipment or price.
SEAT Ibiza: straightforward petrol choice with two listed outputs
The Ibiza is the clearest option if you want a conventional petrol supermini and prefer to choose between the listed 95PS and 115PS 1.0 TSI derivatives. Manual and DSG automatic availability depends on the derivative, so confirm the transmission in the price list and order form. The cited list does not establish an Ibiza hybrid or electric alternative, which removes charging decisions but also removes the option of switching to electric propulsion within this model.

Suzuki Swift: compact petrol mild hybrid with manual or CVT
The Swift combines its 1.2-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology and offers manual or CVT transmissions. It can make sense for a buyer who wants some hybrid assistance in town but expects to refuel with petrol on longer trips. Do not compare its 57.6–64.2 mpg range directly with one Corsa or Ibiza figure unless the engine, trim, wheels, test date and equipment are matched.
Match the car to your journeys
If most trips are short urban journeys
Frequent stop-start driving is where a hybrid system may provide useful assistance, and an electric Corsa can avoid tailpipe emissions during those trips. The decision turns on charging access: a driver with a home charger can make an electric routine predictable, while a street parker may find the Swift mild hybrid or a petrol Corsa easier to live with. An Ibiza remains a valid choice if you value petrol simplicity and have no need for electric operation.
If you regularly drive long motorway distances
Petrol refuelling is usually easier to plan because filling stations are familiar and stops are brief. The Corsa Electric can still be considered, but calculate the distance between reliable rapid-charging sites on your actual routes and allow for weather, speed and payload effects on range. Vauxhall’s material establishes rapid-charging positioning, but not a complete charging-time specification for every derivative, so obtain the exact battery and charging details before ordering.
If your mileage is low or unpredictable
A petrol Corsa or Ibiza avoids paying for charging hardware and avoids relying on a battery range estimate for occasional journeys. The Swift’s mild-hybrid assistance may fit drivers who want an electrified feature without changing refuelling habits. An electric Corsa can still work for low mileage if home charging is convenient, but its financial case depends on the purchase price, electricity tariff, charger cost and depreciation—not on the WLTP range alone.
If you carry passengers or luggage often
Compare the exact trim’s boot, rear-seat space, payload and standard equipment in person. The Vauxhall, SEAT and Suzuki manufacturer pages establish powertrains and selected prices, not a complete, same-date interior or load-volume comparison. A test drive with the child seats, adults or luggage you actually use is more reliable than assuming that three small hatchbacks will meet the same practical need.
Charging the Corsa Electric in real life
Before choosing the electric Corsa, answer four practical questions:
Rank #4
- Buyer's Guide: The seat guard for car seat between seat & console measures 15.75*2.7*1.53", suitable for gaps of 1.43-1.53" in width, please double-check carefully the distance between your seat and the center console before placing an order
- Storage and Filling in One: Differ from traditional single-function gap fillers, gap filler for car incorporates storage function, offers you the convenience of storing phones and various other items, so that you can access them at any time while driving
- Avoid Items Slipping: With the bumps and vibrations of the car, phones, keys may fall into the seat crevices, which is difficult to pick up, and distracts the driver's attention. Car gap seat filler fills gaps seamlessly to create an effective barrier
- Easy to Install: Car side seat gap filler is easy to install, simply insert it into the gap between the seat and the center console, gap seat filler for car can fit tightly without affecting the normal adjustment of the seat and the use of the seat belt
- Premium Material: Crafted from premium EVA material, our car seat side gap filler boasts a combination of wear-resistant, softness&durability. Maintenance is effortless, simply rinse and wipe to quickly clean the dust and debris in corners and crevices
- Where will it charge overnight? A private driveway or off-street parking makes a regular routine easier. If you park on the street, identify a dependable public or workplace alternative before purchase.
- What connector and cable are supplied? The Vauxhall overview and configurator pages do not establish the cable supplied or connector specification for every version. Confirm both with Vauxhall or the retailer rather than buying an unverified third-party cable.
- How far are your regular longer trips? Map charging locations on the routes you actually use, including a backup site. The advertised maximum is up to 266 miles WLTP, not a guaranteed motorway distance.
- What will charging cost at your locations? Use your home tariff, public-network prices and likely charging frequency in a personal calculation. A generic electricity price cannot represent every driver’s situation.
Rapid-charging capability is useful only where a compatible, available rapid charger exists. Ask for the exact charging rate and battery specification of the selected Corsa Electric derivative; the overview and configurator establish rapid-charging positioning but do not provide enough detail here to state one universal charge time.

Transmission and specification checks
Transmission can materially change how a car feels and what it costs. The Ibiza list includes manual and DSG automatic options depending on derivative. The Swift offers manual or CVT choices. The Corsa configurator requires you to select the engine and trim, and its displayed economy, CO2 and price figures change with that configuration.
- Write down the exact engine output, transmission, trim and wheel specification from each quote.
- Check whether safety, infotainment, adaptive cruise, parking sensors and climate features are standard or optional on that trim.
- Confirm whether the quoted price includes delivery, registration, first-year charges and any dealer-installed options.
- For the electric Corsa, record battery size, usable range information and the charging equipment actually included.
A fair running-cost comparison
Build your own estimate rather than combining unlike headline numbers. Record annual miles, urban and motorway proportions, expected fuel or electricity prices, home-charging access, public-charging use, insurance quote, finance payment, servicing schedule, tyres and expected depreciation. Use one consistent period—such as three or four years—and state every assumption.
For fuel cars, convert the official mpg figure into an estimate using your annual miles, but label it as a WLTP-based scenario. For the Corsa Electric, calculate energy use from the exact version’s official data and your charging split, then add public-network fees where relevant. Do not treat the Swift’s 57.6–64.2 mpg range as proof that it will cost less than a particular Ibiza or Corsa: it covers the 2024 Swift range, while the other figures may describe different versions and dates.
Insurance groups appear in SEAT’s list, but a group is not an individual quotation. Your postcode, age, claims history, mileage, parking and chosen excess can change the premium. Obtain quotes for the exact registration or specification before declaring one car cheaper to insure.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Calling the Swift a fully electric car
It is a 1.2-litre petrol model with mild-hybrid technology. It still needs petrol and cannot be charged like the Corsa Electric.

Comparing the cheapest Corsa with a higher-trim Ibiza
A £20,090 Corsa YES price and a £21,350 Ibiza SE price are not automatically like-for-like. Trim equipment, engine, transmission, wheels and options must match before drawing a value conclusion.
Using the Corsa’s maximum range as a universal result
“Up to 266 miles” is Vauxhall’s maximum advertised WLTP value. Select the exact battery and trim, then allow for weather, speed, load and heating.
Turning WLTP mpg into a guarantee
WLTP is a test-cycle comparison tool. SEAT specifically identifies weather, driving style, load and accessories as causes of real-life variation, and the same principle applies to the other manufacturers’ figures.

| Petrol car with mild-hybrid assistance | Suzuki Swift | 1.2-litre petrol with mild-hybrid technology and manual or CVT options. | Current trim price and whether manual or CVT suits your traffic and motorway use. |
| Petrol-only model with 95PS or 115PS choices | SEAT Ibiza | UK list dated 1 April 2026 covers 1.0 TSI derivatives and selected manual or DSG versions. | Current retailer price, equipment and the exact transmission. |
| Home charging and electric daily driving | Vauxhall Corsa Electric | Advertised up to 266 miles WLTP and rapid-charging positioning. | Actual version range, charger compatibility, tariff and route backup. |
| No dependable charging access | Petrol Corsa, Ibiza or Swift | All can be refuelled conventionally; the Swift remains petrol despite its hybrid assistance. | Fuel economy for the exact derivative and your annual mileage. |
Bottom line
The Corsa is the most flexible answer to the question because it spans petrol, non-plug-in hybrid and full electric. Choose its electric version only when charging and route planning work for your life. Choose the Corsa hybrid or Suzuki Swift when you want petrol refuelling with electric assistance. Choose the Ibiza when a conventional 1.0 TSI petrol hatchback, with the specified manual or DSG options, is the right fit. Whichever badge you prefer, compare matched trims and transmissions, treat WLTP as laboratory data, and calculate costs using your own driving and charging circumstances.
