VanMoof announced its S6 e-bike series on June 10, 2025, calling it the first new model series developed under McLaren Applied ownership. The lineup comprises the standard S6 and the lower-frame S6 Open. VanMoof lists a claimed range of 60–150 km, but that figure is a manufacturer specification, not an independently verified real-world result.
What changed with the VanMoof S6?
VanMoof describes the S6 as a redesign developed with McLaren Applied. Its launch marked the first new VanMoof model series under the new owner; it was not the brand’s first e-bike. The manufacturer highlights a redesigned Control Core, a three-gear autohub, a boost button, app-based functions, tracking and a kick-lock. Features and package details can vary by market, so check the local product listing before buying.

How do the S6 and S6 Open differ?
The main published differences are frame style, recommended rider height and wheel size. VanMoof lists the S6 for riders 165–210 cm tall with 27.5-inch wheels, and the S6 Open for riders 150–200 cm tall with 24-inch wheels.

What are the S6’s speed, torque and range?
VanMoof’s current product page lists a top speed of up to 25 km/h, motor torque of 68 Nm, a stated range of 60–150 km and four power levels. These are manufacturer-published specifications. No independent performance test or real-world range result is established here, so the 60–150 km figure should not be treated as a guaranteed distance on one charge.

What comes with the bike, and what does the warranty cover?
VanMoof says the S6 includes fenders, a kickstand, charger and cables, a Peak Design SlimLink phone mount, and a toolbox for minimal assembly. A bike pump is not included. The included mount uses Peak Design’s SlimLink system and works with compatible Peak Design cases.
VanMoof’s help article states a new S6 warranty of three years or 7,500 km, whichever comes first. Confirm the applicable terms and service arrangements for your location with VanMoof.

VanMoof’s April 21, 2026 UK announcement said the S6 and S6 Open had been sold in Europe since summer 2025 and were then arriving in the UK. That describes the European and UK rollout, not a global release date. The announcement also quoted the iF Design Awards jury describing the design as one that “pays homage to the liberating feeling of urban mobility.”
