New Atlas described the setup in October 2024 as a possible “world’s lowest profile” mini-RV, but published no comparative measurements to establish a record. Its defining trade-off is clearer: a low bed and open space above the drawers, in exchange for less room to store tall gear.
What is the Vanderer Two?
The Vanderer Two is a modular camper conversion for the Citroën Berlingo XL and Peugeot Rifter XL. New Atlas’s October 7, 2024 report describes both a turnkey vehicle and a Sleep & Storage module intended for an owner-supplied van. Current availability and supported model years are not established.
The concept keeps the bed low beneath the factory roof rather than adding the pop-up roof associated with the Vanderer One. It is based on a five-seat passenger van, but the report does not establish that all five seats remain usable while the bed is set up.
How the bed and storage work
The Sleep & Storage module uses two slim drawers and sliding platform extensions. With the rear seats folded, cushions on the extended platform form a reported 120 × 200 cm (47 × 79 in) bed, according to New Atlas in 2024. Solo campers can set up one side and use the other for storage.

The low drawers leave open space above the module for cargo and help keep the sleeping platform under the standard roof. The compromise is limited drawer height: taller or bulkier cooking and camping equipment may need to travel elsewhere in the van.
Table, refrigerator and power
A multipurpose tabletop can be used at the tailgate, inside the cabin or on a drawer outdoors, serving as a dining or food-preparation surface. The reported 14 L compressor refrigerator sits between the front seats, making it accessible from the cabin but not placing it at the tailgate work area.

New Atlas reported in 2024 that optional 50 Ah or 105 Ah lithium battery packages were offered to run the refrigerator without straining the vehicle battery. Those specifications describe the reported configuration, not a guarantee of current package availability or performance.
Water and sanitation are separate needs
The described Vanderer Two has no integrated sink or water storage. New Atlas suggested the BOXIO WASH portable wash station, which it reported had separate 5 L fresh-water and gray-water tanks in 2024. It is an accessory, not part of the conversion as described. The report also mentioned a BOXIO dry-separating toilet as a separate portable sanitation option.

Who is this layout best suited to?
The Two’s design favors a low sleeping platform, a flexible tabletop and open cargo space over tall built-in cabinetry. It may suit someone who wants to keep a passenger van’s standard roofline and can pack around shallow drawers. It is less suited to a camper who needs large integrated storage, a built-in wash area or a pop-up roof.
