Väderstad announced the Tempo K for the North American market in 2023, with orders planned for spring 2024. The company later said its Tempo line, including the Tempo K, went on sale in the United States on June 1, 2024. The Tempo K 24 is a 24-row, 30-inch planter designed for high-capacity field work; its listed size, power and hydraulic requirements make tractor fit and transport logistics key considerations for buyers.
When did the Tempo K become available in North America?
Väderstad introduced the Tempo K to the North American market in a 2023 announcement, describing it as adapted for regional farming operations and saying it expected to begin taking orders in spring 2024. The company said the design incorporates elements of the Wil-Rich 10K planter bar, which Väderstad acquired in 2021. Väderstad’s 2023 launch announcement also outlined tracks, the central seed hopper, optional fertilizer tanks and available row-cleaner and closing-wheel systems.
A subsequent U.S. release said the full Tempo high-speed planter line, including Tempo K, was available for sale in the United States beginning June 1, 2024. Väderstad says the Tempo K is manufactured at its U.S. headquarters in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Its report on the 2024 planting season described field activity in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota; that is historical company-reported activity, not a statement about current local inventory. The current U.S. product page lists the following figures for the Tempo K 24. Väderstad cautions that equipment can change and says exact specifications are confirmed when ordering, so verify the configuration with a dealer.

How the seed and row-unit systems work
Väderstad describes the Tempo K as using a central, pressurized seed supply and PowerShoot seed delivery. Each row unit is individually controlled by an electric motor, and the U.S. product page lists section control. The Canadian product page also describes row-by-row variable-rate capability adjusted through GPS and ISOBUS Task Controller. These describe the manufacturer’s system and capabilities; they do not establish independently measured gains in accuracy, input savings or yield.

The company lists the planter for crops including corn, sugar beet, soybeans, sunflower, canola, cotton and sorghum, with discs selected for crop and seed size. The North American launch announcement also mentions blank discs for custom applications. Confirm disc availability and compatibility for the intended crop and machine configuration with a dealer. What Väderstad claims about planting speed
Väderstad’s current U.S. page says the Tempo K can deliver precision planting at 10–12 mph. This is a manufacturer claim, not an independently verified Tempo K trial result in the available published material. Actual field performance will depend on operating conditions and setup; the stated speed should not be treated as a guaranteed rate for every field.

Väderstad’s broader Tempo family page reports a 502-hectare-in-24-hours world record for the Tempo range. That is a family-level company claim and should not be read as a Tempo K-specific result. See the Tempo family page.
What buyers should check before ordering
The published capacities and dimensions point to practical fit questions beyond row count. A farm should check tractor horsepower, hydraulic flow and connections, transport dimensions and weight, storage space, tender capacity and refill logistics, field layout, and seasonal dealer and parts support. The launch announcement said Väderstad planned North American manufacturing support and an extensive parts plan, but it does not specify current service levels.
