Used C8 Corvette Stingrays are becoming more attainable, but the evidence does not support calling every C8 affordable—or assuming one will cost less than $50,000. Kelley Blue Book’s 2026 snapshot put a 2020 Stingray Coupe’s Fair Purchase Price at $54,470, while its 2022 example was $60,480. Those are valuation guides, not guaranteed asking prices or out-the-door quotes, and the 2020 figure was tied to ZIP code 08002 and was stated as valid through September 11, 2026.
What does a used C8 Corvette Stingray cost?
There is no single fair price: model year, condition, mileage, trim, options, seller and location all matter. These published figures offer reference points, but they use different valuation methods and should not be treated as interchangeable.
| Reference | Published value | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| 2020 Stingray Coupe — Kelley Blue Book, 2026 snapshot | Fair Purchase Price: $54,470; private-party estimate: $51,760 in fair condition to $54,060 in excellent condition | KBB’s surfaced example used ZIP 08002 and said values were valid through September 11, 2026. It is a dated, location-specific guide, not a live quote. |
| 2022 Stingray Coupe — Kelley Blue Book, 2026 page snapshot | Fair Purchase Price: $60,480; private-party estimate: $54,980–$60,180; trade-in estimate: $50,570–$55,370 | Estimates vary with condition. The page displayed no validity date in the extracted content, and its example is location-sensitive. |
| Used Corvette market averages — CarGurus, accessed October 4, 2026 | 2020: $62,927; 2021: $64,457; 2022: $67,768 | These are year-level used Corvette averages, not Stingray-only transaction prices; CarGurus says historical pricing excludes dealer fees. |
| 2020 Corvette — Hagerty report published October 7, 2025 | Fair: $48,200; good: $64,300; excellent: $70,900; concours: $80,400 | Hagerty’s condition categories and valuation method differ from KBB’s, so compare within the same source and condition category. |
The trend points toward greater availability at lower prices: CarGurus reported 12-month average-price declines of 4.25% for 2020 Corvettes, 5.59% for 2021s and 4.47% for 2022s. Those are changes in year-level market averages, not proof that a particular Stingray’s sale price fell by the same amount.
Why “affordable” depends on the comparison
The 2020 Stingray launched with a starting price of $59,995, according to Chevrolet’s launch document hosted by the National Corvette Museum. Hagerty listed the 2025 standard coupe’s list price as $69,995. These figures put used values in context, but a launch price from 2019 and a later model’s list price are not direct substitutes for comparing similarly equipped cars or calculating depreciation.

A 2020 C8 is also the first model year of the Corvette’s move from the previous front-engine generations to a mid-engine layout. Hagerty describes the 2020 Stingray as a two-seat coupe or convertible with a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic; it reports 490 hp. Chevrolet’s launch document also reports 490 hp, but gives a different torque figure from Hagerty, so torque is omitted here rather than combining unlike configurations or sources.
How to judge whether a listing is a fair deal
Compare cars with the same basic specification before deciding whether a price is high or low. A 2020 1LT coupe with different mileage and history is not a like-for-like comparison with a 2022 3LT convertible or a Z51-equipped car.

- Brand new box.
- Real rubber tires. Has opening doors.
- Detailed interior, exterior. Made of diecast with some plastic parts.
- Dimensions approximately L-7.5, W-3.5, H-2 inches.
- Match year and body style: separate coupes from convertibles and compare the same model year where possible.
- Match trim and equipment: note 1LT, 2LT or 3LT, the Z51 package and other options; equipment can affect asking prices.
- Check mileage and condition: inspect wear and verify that the car’s condition description is supported by the vehicle itself.
- Review title, accident and service history: unresolved damage or maintenance gaps can change the value and risk of a specific car.
- Compare seller and price type: a dealer asking price, private-party valuation, trade-in estimate and completed purchase price are different measures. KBB’s Fair Purchase Price is based on actual consumer purchase prices and other data, but still varies by location.
- Compare the same region: local supply and market conditions matter; a valuation tied to one ZIP code may not fit another area.
For current inventory, compare used C8 Corvette Stingray listings using those criteria, then treat the asking price as the start of the comparison—not proof of the final transaction price.

A listing price is not the full cost of buying or owning the car. Set aside room in the budget for taxes, registration, insurance, financing, tires and maintenance. The cited valuation sources do not establish a buyer-specific out-the-door total or ownership budget, so those costs need to be checked for the car, lender and location under consideration.
