A brand on that list does not mean every car it sells has Bose audio. Bose systems are fitted to selected models, trims, packages, and model years, so the reliable check is the equipment list for the specific vehicle you are considering.

Speaker counts and system tiers
Bose’s catalog uses three tier names: Premium, Performance Series, and Personal Plus. It also states speaker counts for individual systems. Both are useful for comparing equipment within Bose’s own catalog, but neither is an independent sound-quality rating.
- Premium is the tier most of the catalog entries above use. Its speaker count and features vary by model.
- Performance Series is the name the catalog gives to the Corvette Stingray system.
- Personal Plus is the name given to the Kicks system, which includes headrest speakers.
- Speaker counts in the catalog range from 8 to 14. A higher count describes the hardware in that car. It does not measure how the system sounds in the cabin.
- Named features in the catalog include Centerpoint, SurroundStage, AudioPilot, and headrest speakers. These are published equipment descriptions. This guide does not include independent listening tests or measurements.
Counts also differ by source year. The Volvo EX90 figure of 14 speakers comes from a 2022 announcement, while the other counts come from Bose’s catalog pages accessed in 2026.

- 4-Way Design - Enhance your car accessories with this 4-way design speaker, meaning they have separate drivers for reproducing different frequency ranges. Results in more accurate and balanced sound reproduction.
- Power Handling - Maximum power handling of 350 watts and a continuous power handling of 80 watts, these speakers deliver dynamic sound. Crisp highs and deep lows ensure that you can experience a wide range of frequencies with clarity and accuracy.
- Frequency Response - Receive a rich and immersive sound reproduction across different music genres. This car audio speaker contains a broad range of audio frequencies with a response range of 35 Hz to 29 kHz.
- Sensitivity - The sensitivity rating of 91 dB ensures that the speakers can produce clear and loud sound even with lower power inputs. This means you can enjoy your music without distortion, even at higher volume levels.
- Easy Installation – Speakers offer easy installation with their simple mounting design. Included with the coaxial system are 6-1/2” multi-fit installation adapters that expand flexibility and improve acoustic performance.
What a Bose badge means in a car
Bose says it engineers each sound system for an individual vehicle. Its process includes cabin acoustic analysis, selection and placement of components, integration into the vehicle, listening evaluations, and custom tuning and equalization. Bose also describes these systems as including software and signal processing, not only speakers and amplifiers.
That has a practical consequence. A Bose system is part of a specific car’s design. Bose says it does not offer aftermarket car sound systems because it develops components, algorithms, and software for particular models in collaboration with automakers. A Bose name on a partner page therefore does not mean you can buy a matching speaker set for another car.

- Dimensions: 6.6 x 6.6 x 2.4 inches

How to compare two cars that offer Bose audio
- Fix the model year and trim first. Equipment can change between years and between trims of the same model.
- Check whether Bose audio is standard or an option on that exact configuration. In many listings it depends on the package chosen.
- Compare the system tier and speaker count from the same Bose catalog page. Do not compare a Premium system on one model with a Performance Series system on another as if they were the same product.
- Decide which named features matter to you. Headrest speakers, for example, are only listed for the Nissan Kicks in the catalog entries reviewed.
Confirm the audio equipment on the car you are buying
A model name on a partner page does not establish that a particular car on a lot has Bose audio. Confirm it with the dealer using the following steps.
- Ask for the vehicle’s build sheet or equipment list for the specific VIN, not a generic brochure for the model.
- Look for the Bose system or package name on that document. If the audio line lists a different system or no Bose system, the car does not have the Bose system you were shown.
- Match the trim and package on the document to the Bose catalog entry you are comparing. If they do not match, ask which model year or package the catalog entry describes.
Repairs, parts, and aftermarket upgrades
Bose says automotive Bose parts are supplied through the carmaker. For parts, service, diagnostics, and technical information, Bose directs owners to the authorized dealer for their vehicle brand.

- Carbon-injected Plus One cones are larger than others in their size class, meaning they move more air and make more bass
- Soft-dome tweeters feature oversized voice coils for greater heat dissipation and higher power handling resulting in smooth, fatigue free highs
- The patented I-Mount system allows unparalleled flexibility whether you flush- or surface-mount your component tweeters
- A dual-level tweeter volume adjustment helps compensate for less-than-perfect speaker placement, and can even be set to suit your personal listening preference and musical taste
- Low-impedance, three-ohm speakers compensate for the undersized wires found in many of today’s cars, and make the most of every watt your car stereo can deliver
- Do not buy a generic Bose car speaker kit. Bose does not offer an aftermarket car sound system, so no such kit is sold as a Bose upgrade for a car.
- Do not expect a home or portable Bose product to replace the car’s system. The vehicle’s integrated system is tuned to that car’s cabin and electronics.
- Take faults to the brand’s authorized dealer. That is the channel Bose names for diagnostics and service of the integrated system.
The Volvo EX90 and the 2022 announcement
On December 20, 2022, Bose announced a collaboration with Volvo Cars. Peter Kosak, then Bose senior vice president and head of automotive, said: “Teaming up with Volvo Cars is a major milestone for us.” The announcement said the Volvo EX90 would offer an available 14-speaker Bose system. That is a 2022 statement about a model that has since had model-year changes, so check the current EX90 equipment list before treating the 14-speaker figure as a current buying detail.
