In iSeeCars’ 2026 U.S. analysis, both appear among used luxury midsize cars below $30,000 and $35,000. Those figures are national average prices—not local quotes—and reliability ratings do not guarantee that a particular car will be trouble-free. Use the shortlist to guide your search, then judge each car by its records, condition, mileage, and an independent inspection.
Which used luxury sedans are worth shortlisting?
The strongest focused options in the cited price bands are the Acura TLX and Lexus ES. iSeeCars’ 2026 analysis reports the following average used prices and reliability ratings for specific model years:

Acura TLX: a strong fit in both cited price bands
The 2021 TLX averages $28,592 below $30,000, while the 2022 averages $33,290 below $35,000; both receive a 7.5 iSeeCars reliability rating. That makes the TLX a practical starting point if you are comparing cars in either range. The rating is a ranking indicator, not a forecast of repair bills or proof that a particular TLX has been maintained well.

Lexus ES: compare the exact version and equipment
The 2021 ES 250 averages $29,376 below $30,000; the 2021 ES 350 averages $32,431 below $35,000. Both receive a 7.3 iSeeCars rating. Treat the two prices as separate examples: the different ES versions and price bands do not establish that one is the better value or more dependable choice.
What do the reliability ratings tell you?
iSeeCars describes its longevity rankings as data-driven and based on analysis of 12 million vehicles. A longevity score is useful as one screening signal, but it does not establish how often a specific model year needs repairs, what maintenance will cost, or whether a particular used car is sound. Do not read the 7.5 and 7.3 ratings as a direct measure of repair expense or as a promise of trouble-free ownership.

Consumer Reports’ 2026 brand page places Acura fifth in used-car reliability. That is brand-level context, not a model-year finding for the TLX; the page also includes a limitation in its ranking footnote. How should you compare listings?
Compare like with like before choosing between a TLX and an ES. A lower asking price may reflect higher mileage, fewer features, condition, or local supply rather than a better deal.

- Price and local market: Treat the national averages above as search context, then check current listings in your area.
- Year, mileage, and version: Compare similar model years and mileage, and confirm the exact ES version, TLX trim, and equipment.
- Comfort and features: Evaluate the cabin, technology, and equipment on the actual car; do not assume every trim includes the same features.
- Service access: Consider whether qualified service for the model is available near you.
- Records and condition: Give documented maintenance and the vehicle’s present condition more weight than a brand reputation or ranking score.
What to verify before buying

- Arrange an independent pre-purchase inspection. Have a qualified mechanic assess the specific car before you commit, and use the findings to decide whether to proceed.
- Recheck the asking price against local comparables. The cited national averages are time- and market-sensitive, not a valuation for your area.
The cited rankings do not provide repair-cost estimates, ownership-satisfaction findings, year-specific safety results, recall status, or maintenance records for a vehicle you might buy. Those questions need to be answered for the individual listing.

Other ranked cars—and an important body-style distinction
iSeeCars also includes other vehicles in these price-band rankings. They can widen a search, but the figures do not establish a low-cost ownership winner.

The E-Class coupe should not be treated as a sedan alternative just because it appears in a luxury-car ranking. For the A6 and E-Class, as for the TLX and ES, a longevity rating alone cannot answer what a specific car will cost to own.
