The company’s comparison covers its current product portfolio through the end of August 2026; it reports percentage changes, not country sales totals.
How the UK compares with other European markets
Indian Motorcycle announced the figures on 8 October 2026. Its table shows growth in seven of the 10 listed countries, no change in Switzerland and declines in Italy and France.

Each percentage is Indian Motorcycle’s reported like-for-like comparison of its current product portfolio against the year-earlier period, through the end of August 2026. The release does not provide a fuller methodology. Indian Motorcycle Media EMEA published the announcement on 8 October 2026.
What the growth figures do—and do not—show
The ranking compares rates of change, not the size of each country’s market. Indian Motorcycle gives no country-level unit counts, registrations or market-share figures, so the UK’s 39.4% increase cannot be used to calculate how many motorcycles it sold or to compare its sales volume with Romania’s or Poland’s.

The company describes growth across the majority of European markets, but the table also shows a flat result in Switzerland and contractions in Italy and France. These figures are the manufacturer’s reported results; they are not an independent sales dataset.
What Indian Motorcycle says about the Scout
CEO Mike Kennedy identified the Scout platform as a central part of the company’s European performance. He called it a “cornerstone” of the lineup and said it was the market leader in the European mid-size cruiser segment, outselling comparable Harley-Davidson and Honda models.

That leadership statement is Indian Motorcycle’s claim. The announcement includes no model-by-model sales, unit counts or independent segment data to verify the comparison.
