A result from a lightly loaded scooter on open roads is not a dependable promise for a heavily loaded scooter in stop-start traffic. - Road condition and traffic, including repeated acceleration and stopping.
- Fuel quality and riding speed.
- How often and how firmly the brakes are used.
- Tyre inflation and the load carried by the scooter.
- Timely maintenance, including correct engine and transmission-oil levels and replacement intervals.
- Unnecessary idling and other operating habits.
Frequent short trips, congested junctions and carrying a passenger can make a tank-to-tank result unlike a steady-speed ride. The manual’s list is therefore a warning against converting one owner’s figure into a universal promise.

The manual treats the fuel gauge as an approximate indication. Its bars are for reference and should not be used to calculate mileage. A falling bar therefore cannot tell you how many kilometres remain or how efficient the last tank was. Use the quantity dispensed at refuelling and the distance travelled instead.
How to measure your own NTORQ 125
A consistent full-tank calculation is a practical owner measurement, not a TVS-prescribed test. Use the same filling method and record the odometer or trip reading each time:
- Fill the tank to the same practical point at a reputable fuel station. Do not overfill beyond the fuel-system guidance in your manual.
- Reset the trip meter, or write down the odometer reading.
- Ride normally, recording unusual heavy loads, long idling, very slow traffic or a change in route.
- At the next refill, record the litres added and the kilometres travelled.
- Divide kilometres travelled by litres added. Repeat for several refills and compare the results rather than treating one tank as a definitive figure.
For better comparisons, check tyre pressure regularly, avoid needless idling and frequent braking, follow the periodic-maintenance schedule, and keep engine and transmission oil at the correct level. Exact pressure values, oil specifications and inspection details depend on the manual for your scooter’s variant and manufacture date. If you change tyre size, load pattern or route, start a separate comparison rather than mixing the results.

When is the first NTORQ 125 service due?
TVS’s service article, published 27 May 2026, gives the first service window as 500–750 km or two months after purchase. The article presents four initial kilometre/time milestones and says the first four scheduled sessions are free. The applicable window and free-service conditions should still be checked in your service booklet or with an authorised TVS dealer in the market where you bought the scooter.
The “or” is important: a scooter that reaches the time limit before the kilometre range is still due according to the time milestone, while heavy use may bring it to the kilometre window first. Keep the purchase date, odometer reading and invoices together so the dealer can establish which milestone applies.

These intervals are from TVS’s “TVS NTORQ 125 Maintenance Cost & Service Schedule Explained”. Because the schedule is expressed as a kilometre range or elapsed time, do not wait beyond the applicable limit while trying to reach a preferred point in the range. Bring the purchase date, current odometer reading and service booklet when booking, and ask the dealer to record the completed service and any chargeable work separately.
After the fourth visit, TVS’s article gives a 3,000 km routine interval, but it does not give one universal calendar interval or a price list for every market. Follow the time guidance in your own booklet as well as the distance interval, particularly if the scooter is used infrequently.
Are the first four services free?
TVS’s 27 May 2026 article describes the first four scheduled NTORQ services as free. “Free” does not create a universal promise about every consumable, repair, accessory or out-of-warranty part. The article does not publish a cost table, and terms can depend on the purchase market, warranty documentation and scooter version. Confirm what is included before authorising extra work. Ask the service advisor to separate scheduled items from customer-requested replacements, damage repairs and accessories on the job card.
What is checked during routine servicing?
TVS says routine checks can include:
- Engine oil and general engine health.
- Filters.
- Brakes and tyres.
- Suspension.
- Front and rear shifting parts.
- Clutch-belt and other driveline condition.
The exact inspection list, replacement interval and approved specification belong to your manual and service booklet. An authorised centre can also explain any annual-maintenance-contract terms available in your market; neither the cited article nor the product page establishes a universal AMC price. A dealer may recommend additional work after inspection, but that is not automatically part of the four scheduled free sessions.
How should you store an NTORQ 125 if you will not ride it?

Identify the correct manual first
- Find the scooter’s manufacture date and exact variant from its documentation and identification labels.
- Open the TVS User Manuals portal and select the NTORQ entry that matches the market, model and manufacture-date range.
- Check whether your scooter is an XT, Race XP, connected-cluster or non-connected-cluster version; TVS lists separate manuals for these configurations.
- Follow the storage and recommissioning instructions in that exact manual. If the relevant section is unavailable or unclear, ask an authorised TVS service centre to prepare the scooter and explain the restart checks.
Manufacture date matters because TVS states that scooters made before April 2025 follow BSVI OBD II, while those made on or after April 2025 follow BSVI OBD IIB. That distinction is one reason advice from a different edition can be wrong for your scooter. Do not transfer fluid, battery, fuel-system or electrical instructions from another NTORQ manual without verifying the match.

Connected-cluster equipment, trim names and emissions-system documentation can differ, so use these figures for orientation rather than assuming they identify your scooter. For a comparison with another NTORQ, compare manufacture date, market, trim and connected-cluster type before comparing equipment or maintenance requirements.
Choosing oil, filters and replacement parts
Engine oil and air-filter maintenance can affect reliability and fuel consumption, but a generic product label is not enough to establish compatibility. Before buying a consumable or replacement part, match:
- The exact NTORQ variant and trim.
- Model year and manufacture-date range.
- Required oil grade, quantity and specification in the correct manual.
- Filter or part number, dimensions and connector details where applicable.

What to do when published advice conflicts with your scooter’s documents
Use a simple priority order:
- Match the manual to the scooter’s market, manufacture date and variant.
- Check the service booklet supplied at purchase for recorded due dates and market-specific free-service terms.
- Use the TVS service article’s four milestones as a reference, then confirm any difference with an authorised dealer.
- Do not use fuel-gauge bars, a different trim’s tyre pressure or another model year’s storage procedure to fill an information gap.
