What changes between TVS NTORQ 125 variants?
The NTORQ 125 range is not five completely different scooters. The meaningful differences are concentrated in four areas: purchase price, styling or themed graphics, performance and ride modes, and the instrument-console and connected features. TVS currently names five variants in its model and buying material: Disc, Race Edition, Super Squad Edition, Race XP and XT.

Variant-by-variant guide
Disc: the sensible entry point
Disc is the starting point for buyers who want the basic NTORQ 125 proposition without paying for special graphics or the Race XP and XT feature additions. TVS city pages position it below the other four variants on price. That makes it the logical comparison point for a commuter or family buyer who would rather allocate money to registration, insurance, a quality helmet or an extended service package.
Do not read “entry point” as a claim that the scooter is stripped of every useful feature. The exact equipment list depends on the current brochure and market. Ask the dealer to identify the console functions, lighting, braking hardware and storage or utility equipment on the specific Disc unit being invoiced. The variant name alone is not a substitute for a dated specification sheet.
Race Edition: choose the look, not an assumed power increase
Race Edition is aimed at buyers who like racing-inspired graphics and a more expressive appearance. TVS’s launch description separates the graphics and styling treatment from mechanical upgrades. Unless a current brochure states otherwise, treat Race Edition as an identity and design decision rather than evidence of a stronger engine or different ride modes.

Before paying a booking amount, ask to see the exact colour code and a photograph or physical example of the unit the dealer can supply. Confirm that the quoted price is for Race Edition, not a similarly named accessory or a different year.
Super Squad Edition: themed graphics with standard mechanical expectations
Super Squad Edition adds Marvel-inspired, character-themed styling. It is for a buyer who values that visual identity and wants a limited-theme feel in the daily scooter. The theme itself does not establish higher power, different acceleration or superior suspension. Compare the mechanical and electronic specification with the standard variant listed on the dealer quotation.

Because themed editions are colour- and stock-sensitive, confirm the character design, available finish, warranty documentation and delivery unit. If the graphics are the reason you are paying more than Disc, make sure the surcharge is visible as a variant-price difference and not hidden among accessories.
Race XP: the performance and ride-mode choice
Race XP is the variant to examine when engine output, selectable riding character and voice-connected functions matter more than themed graphics. In its August 8, 2024 colour-update release, TVS quotes 10.2 PS at 7,000 rpm and 10.9 Nm at 5,500 rpm for Race XP. The same release quotes 9.5 PS at 7,000 rpm and 10.6 Nm at 5,500 rpm for the standard NTORQ 125. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent dyno or road-test measurements; verify the current model-year brochure if the difference is decisive.

TVS documents two modes:
- Street mode: described by the manufacturer for city riding.
- Race mode: described as the setting for stronger performance.
The indexed 2026 owner-manual description also lists voice assist and connected-display functions. The manual’s full PDF should be checked directly with the dealer or TVS if you need a function-by-function confirmation for a specific model year. A phone, app account, permissions and compatible software may be required for connected features; a display capable of a function does not guarantee that every phone or region supports it.
Race XP therefore makes the most sense when you will actually use the modes or value the higher quoted output. If you only want the graphics, Race Edition or Super Squad Edition may meet that need without paying for performance-oriented equipment.
XT: the technology-focused flagship
XT’s published story is its console and connected technology. TVS’s launch release describes a hybrid TFT/LCD display, SmartXtalk voice functions, SmartXtrack updates and IntelliGO stop-start technology. Those descriptions come from the XT launch material, so treat them as a guide to the variant’s technology positioning rather than a promise that every historical function remains unchanged.

Ask for a live demonstration before purchase. Have the salesperson show phone pairing, navigation or notification behaviour that you care about, and ask which functions require the TVS app, mobile data or a particular operating-system version. Confirm whether the supplied scooter has the latest software and whether any feature is unavailable in your state or on your phone. XT is a poor value if you will not use its display and connected functions, but it is the natural choice for a rider who wants the most information-rich factory console in this five-variant line-up.
Engine and performance: what the published numbers mean
TVS identifies the NTORQ 125 with a 124.8 cc, three-valve engine. Its August 2024 release gives the following output figures:

The release is dated August 8, 2024 and is a manufacturer specification source. It does not provide an independent acceleration test, fuel-economy result or long-term reliability study. Do not convert the figures into a promised top speed, mileage or ownership cost. If you are comparing a 2026 stock scooter with these numbers, request the current brochure because equipment and calibrations can change while the variant name remains familiar.
TVS’s current model article discusses acceleration, top speed and ride modes, but a claimed figure is meaningful only when you know the test conditions and model year. Read it alongside the official variant and dealer documents at TVS’s NTORQ performance and ride-modes article.
Connected features and phone compatibility
SmartXonnect is the umbrella name associated with NTORQ connected functions, but the feature set differs by variant. Race XP is described with voice assist, ride modes and a connected display. XT adds the hybrid TFT/LCD presentation, SmartXtalk voice functions, SmartXtrack updates and IntelliGO stop-start technology in TVS’s launch material.

Before buying for connectivity, work through this checklist:
- Ask which functions are fitted to the exact variant and model year, not merely to the NTORQ name.
- Pair your own phone at the dealership and test the functions you expect to use.
- Confirm the required app, account, Bluetooth permissions, mobile data and operating-system version.
- Ask how software updates are delivered and whether a dealer visit is required.
- Clarify what happens if the phone is disconnected; essential riding information should remain available without the app.
Connected equipment can be a strong reason to choose XT or Race XP, but it should not be valued as a permanent guarantee of future app support. TVS can change app compatibility and services over time.

There is no single all-India NTORQ price that can be copied safely into a buying decision. TVS’s own city pages show different figures. The Suri Taluksiuri page lists these ex-showroom prices; the page was checked on October 17, 2026 and prices can change before invoicing:

TVS labels on-road amounts as indicative and says the final price can change at invoicing. An on-road quotation normally adds registration, insurance, taxes, handling or other mandatory charges, depending on the state and dealer. Request a written, itemised quote with the quotation date, variant, colour, ex-showroom amount, insurance provider and every optional item. Do not compare a city’s ex-showroom figure with another city’s on-road total.

How to choose your NTORQ 125 step by step
- Set the complete on-road budget. Include registration, insurance, taxes, accessories, helmet and any finance charges before deciding how much of the budget is available for the variant.
- Decide whether appearance or equipment is the priority. Race Edition and Super Squad Edition mainly answer a styling or theme preference. They should not be selected on the assumption of extra power.
- Test the standard and Race XP riding position. Sit with both feet and check reach to the bars, mirrors, brake levers and floorboard. A specification advantage is irrelevant if the ergonomics do not suit you.
- Choose whether you will use ride modes. If Street and Race modes and the higher quoted output are central to your decision, compare Race XP’s price with the local quote. If not, the standard variants may be the more rational spend.
- Demonstrate the console with your phone. Test the exact connected functions you want on Race XP or XT. Record the app name, required permissions and any subscription or data requirement stated by the dealer.
- Verify the model year and equipment in writing. Ask for the brochure or specification sheet that matches the vehicle identification number or inventory unit. Launch-era equipment descriptions are not enough for a current purchase.
- Compare itemised quotations. Get at least two written quotes in the same city or region, making sure both use the same insurance coverage and exclude or identify accessories separately.
- Inspect the delivery scooter. Match the variant badge, colour, chassis and engine numbers, odometer, tyres, lights, brakes, documents and warranty details before accepting delivery.
Common buying mistakes and how to avoid them
Treating a city price as a national price
TVS’s Suri Taluksiuri and Nangal pages demonstrate that location changes the figures. Use a local quote and keep the page date with your comparison.
Assuming Race Edition means a faster engine
The published Race Edition description centres on graphics and styling. Use the Race XP specification when evaluating output and ride modes; confirm any equipment change in the current brochure.
Buying XT features without testing them
Display and app functions are useful only when they work with your phone and routine. Pair your device at the dealership and ask what remains available without mobile connectivity.

Older launch prices are historical. Current city pages and a written dealer quotation are the appropriate basis for a 2026 purchase.
Expecting a mileage or reliability guarantee
No independent fuel-economy or long-term reliability evidence is established here. Real consumption depends on traffic, load, tyre pressure, maintenance and riding style; obtain service intervals and warranty terms directly from TVS.
What TVS says about the NTORQ’s market response
TVS reported more than 1.45 million NTORQ sales in fewer than five years in a 2025 company communication. That is a historical manufacturer claim, not a current cumulative total and not an independent reliability rating. It indicates the scale of the product’s market presence, but it should not replace a check of local service access, parts availability and warranty support.
In the August 8, 2024 release, Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President, Marketing – Scooters, Commuter Motorcycles & Corporate Brand, TVS Motor Company, said: “The TVS NTORQ 125 and TVS NTORQ Race XP exemplify our commitment to this vision.” This is promotional language from the manufacturer and should be read as such. Final decision framework
- Choose Disc when the lowest local price and the core NTORQ package matter most.
- Choose Race Edition when race-inspired graphics are worth the premium and you do not need Race XP’s documented output and modes.
- Choose Super Squad Edition when the Marvel-inspired theme is the deciding feature, while treating its mechanical specification as a separate question.
- Choose Race XP when you value the higher manufacturer-quoted output, Street and Race modes, and voice-connected functions.
- Choose XT when the hybrid TFT/LCD display and expanded connected technology are worth the additional local price and you have confirmed phone compatibility.
Whichever trim you select, make the final decision from a dated, itemised local quotation and the specification of the exact model-year scooter. That approach prevents a graphics edition from being mistaken for a performance upgrade and prevents a launch-era technology description from being treated as a current guarantee.
