The Tune Outdoor M1 Lite, which the manufacturer calls the M1L, starts at $8,999 for a mid-size standard configuration. For a 5-foot Tacoma, Tune’s FAQ lists a starting weight of 341 pounds. Fit and final weight depend on the specific truck and build, so confirm both with Tune before ordering.
What the M1L includes for its $8,999 starting price
Tune lists the M1L at $8,999 for a mid-size standard configuration. Its product page describes a compact pop-up camper aimed at solo travelers and couples, with three full-opening aluminum body panels, six canopy windows with bug netting and zip fabric panels, and more than 330 feet of T-track inside, outside, and on the roof. The listed price and features are manufacturer specifications and may vary with truck size and configuration. Tune M1L product page
The listed standard purchase includes installation and a walkthrough at Tune HQ in Denver, a three-year limited warranty, and lifetime customer support. Confirm what is included in your particular quote, especially if you plan to use a certified dealer for installation.
Tune also says the M1L has “65% more living space than the leading wedge camper.” That is a manufacturer marketing comparison; Tune does not identify the competitor or explain its measurement method on the product page, so it should not be treated as an independently verified comparison.

Will the M1L fit your Tacoma?
Tune says each M1 and M1L is custom-built for the truck model. The company notes that smaller modifications may be needed for fourth-generation Tacomas, while most trucks install without modification. Requirements depend on the vehicle, so provide Tune with your Tacoma’s model year, bed length, and any relevant modifications before paying a deposit. Tune Outdoor FAQ
The camper attaches with bed-rail clamps. Tune directs customers to install at its Denver headquarters or through certified dealers in the United States and Canada. Weight: use the Tacoma-specific figure
Tune’s FAQ lists a starting weight of 341 pounds for an M1L on a 5-foot Tacoma. Its product page separately advertises a weight of 322 pounds without the same Tacoma-specific qualifier, and the reviewed manufacturer pages do not explain the difference. Treat 341 pounds as the more relevant starting reference for a 5-foot Tacoma, not as the guaranteed weight of your finished camper; ask Tune for the weight of your exact truck-and-build combination. Sleeping platform, bed access, and options
The standard sleeping platform runs north to south. For the mid-size configuration, Tune lists a 60-by-78-inch platform, a 45-inch section over the cab, and a 30-inch sliding extension into the truck bed. An extended configuration is described with 57 inches over the cab and an 18-inch extension; confirm which layout applies to the Tacoma build you are considering. Tune lists a 115-watt solar panel as an M1L option, and says the solar port can instead be wired for a customer-supplied panel. Its FAQ says the customer-supplied-battery wiring package includes adapters for nearly any 12-volt portable power system. Verify current availability and compatibility with your equipment directly with Tune. Ordering, installation, and maintenance
Purchase process and lead time
Tune’s FAQ describes a $500 deposit to begin the purchase process. After the deposit, the customer receives a meeting link to discuss the build; Tune then sends a purchase agreement and invoice. The FAQ gives a typical lead time of 75–90 days from signature of the purchase order and initial payment after the deposit, while noting that timing varies with demand. Mounting-hardware checks
Tune says its campers are designed to remain on the truck. Its FAQ instructs owners to inspect mounting hardware after 250, 500, 1,000, and 5,000 miles, and then quarterly.
