That is 23.87 mph faster than MCN’s reported 194.23 mph run with an earlier configuration, but the sources describe test results—not a formally sanctioned speed record.
How fast did the TTS SuperBusa go?
Motorcycle News (MCN) reported that speed tester Bruce Dunn reached 218.1 mph on 16 March 2023. TTS identifies the venue as the Kendrew Barracks runway in Rutland, UK; MCN calls it RAF Cottesmore. The available accounts do not explain the difference in venue names, so the result is best described as a runway test in Rutland rather than assigning the site a single definitive name. TTS’s report and MCN’s coverage both give the 218.1 mph figure.
The title’s “record” refers to the SuperBusa’s earlier reported test result. The reviewed reports do not identify a governing body, record class, timing protocol or two-way average. They therefore do not establish an official national or world land-speed record.
How does it compare with the earlier SuperBusa run?
MCN’s 2022 test recorded 194.23 mph. The later figure is 23.87 mph higher, but the two runs were made with different configurations; this is not a controlled back-to-back test showing that one modification alone added that speed.

| Reported engine output | 370.9 bhp at 10,752 rpm | 401.14 bhp at 11,191 rpm |
| Gearing | Standard Suzuki gearing | 19-tooth front and 41-tooth rear sprockets |
| Other reported test figure | Quarter-mile in 9.69 seconds at 164.25 mph | Test-bike weight: 257 kg ready to ride |
MCN described the 2022 bike as set up for drag racing. Before the 2023 high-speed test, TTS said it revised the gearing and fitted a fresh ECU map. MCN reported the sprocket sizes and the 401.14 bhp dyno figure; TTS also cited that output. The change in gearing and the higher reported output are relevant context, but the available accounts do not isolate their individual effects on top speed.
What is the SuperBusa, and how does it differ from a standard Hayabusa?
The SuperBusa is TTS Performance’s supercharged conversion based on the third-generation Suzuki Hayabusa. TTS’s product page describes a 1,340 cc inline-four with a Rotrex C30-94 counter-clockwise centrifugal supercharger, intercooler and plenum chamber, strengthened engine internals and custom drive components, alongside chassis and braking changes. Those are product-page details, not a complete build sheet for every individual bike.

TTS lists 380 bhp and 197 ft-lb for its product specification, while the particular 2023 test configuration was reported at 401.14 bhp on a dyno. These figures describe different claims: a listed product specification and the output reported for the test bike. TTS says production is limited to 40 motorcycles and lists a £50,000 starting price; specifications, options and price may change. See TTS’s SuperBusa product page and its FAQ for current vendor information.
For context, Suzuki’s catalogue lists the standard third-generation Hayabusa as a 1,340 cm³ liquid-cooled inline-four and gives a nominal top speed of 299 km/h. That manufacturer specification is not a measured SuperBusa test speed. Suzuki’s catalogue provides the production-model details.

Was 218.1 mph an official top-speed record?
Not on the evidence in the published accounts. MCN and TTS report a 218.1 mph runway-test result, but neither cited account establishes a sanctioned record attempt. In particular, they do not state the timing equipment or method, whether the speed was averaged over two runs, the class rules, or the sanctioning authority. Without those details, the accurate description is a reported test speed—not an official record.
Those omissions also matter when comparing the result with another motorcycle. A meaningful comparison would need to account for measurement method, course and venue, one-way versus average speed, engine configuration and power measurement, gearing, and weather. The available reports do not supply all of those details.

What did the rider report about the high-speed run?
Dunn told MCN that he noticed a low-frequency weave at speed, while describing it as something he was aware of rather than a problem. He also said the windblast became significant when he came out of the riding bubble and shut off, near 220 mph. These are the test rider’s observations, not a general assessment of stability or a recommendation for road use.
The run took place on a runway, not a public road. TTS describes the SuperBusa as road legal, while its FAQ qualifies legality by country; that vendor claim is not a substitute for checking local registration and equipment requirements. It does not make extreme speeds appropriate or lawful on public roads. In an earlier report, TTS said Turweston Aerodrome’s runway was too short for a top-speed attempt: it recorded 160 mph there in damp conditions and reserved maximum-speed testing for a longer airfield. TTS’s Turweston account distinguishes that earlier shakedown from the later high-speed test.
