The TQ HPR60 is a compact e-bike drive unit rated by TQ at 60 Nm of torque, 200% support, 350 W of power and 1,924 g. It assists only while you pedal, and assistance cuts out above the speed limit permitted by local law. TQ does not specify a universal range: distance depends on the bike, rider, conditions and system settings.
What are the TQ HPR60’s specifications?
TQ describes the HPR60 as the next generation of its HPR50 drive. These figures are manufacturer-published specifications, not results from independent comparative testing.

TQ positions the design around power-to-weight ratio and efficiency rather than maximum power alone. Its claims that the unit is the “smallest, lightest and quietest” are the manufacturer’s market positioning; the cited material does not provide independent comparative measurements. TQ describes its intended riding feel as “intelligent and measured support” that leaves the rider actively contributing (TQ HPR60 product page).
How does assistance work, and what about the speed limit?
The HPR60 provides motor assistance while the rider pedals. Assistance stops when the bike exceeds the speed limit permitted by the applicable local law and resumes when speed returns to the permitted range. The limit depends on the country and applicable bike classification, so the motor specification alone does not establish a universal assisted-speed figure.

You can still pedal the bicycle without motor assistance, including when the system is switched off or the battery is empty. TQ says its gear-shifting recommendations are the same as for a bicycle without drive-unit assistance. Consult the manual supplied for the specific bike and market for operating details (TQ HPR60 user manual).
How far can an HPR60 bike go on a charge?
There is no single distance figure established for all HPR60 bikes. TQ lists several variables that affect range:

- Combined weight of the bike, rider and luggage
- Assist mode and riding speed
- Route profile, including climbing, and selected gear
- Battery age and state of charge
- Tire pressure, wind and outside temperature
An optional TQ Range Extender can add battery capacity and extend range. TQ lists a 160 Wh Battery Range Extender, but the cited materials do not establish that it fits every HPR60-equipped bike. Check compatibility for the exact bike and system before buying; no fixed additional distance is substantiated by the available specifications (TQ manuals and downloads).
What can you adjust with the TQ app?
TQ’s app provides motor tuning and rider or system information. Depending on the bike and configuration, its features include adjusting motor power, support and response; setting rider profiles; viewing battery status and software information; and choosing display views. TQ describes high-mode support as adjustable up to 200% (TQ E-Bike app).

Software and component versions can vary by bike and system configuration. TQ’s update page records an HPR60 release package dated September 24, 2026, which fixed motor output being too low relative to a configured low assistance factor and optimized state-of-charge calculation when the battery is low. To check the current version and update path for a particular bike, use TQ’s update information or contact a dealer (TQ software updates).
Which bikes use the HPR60?
TQ lists HPR60 applications that include the Mondraker Dusty, Lauf eElja, NORCO Sight VLT TQ, Rotwild RX290 and STEVENS E-Maverick. These are examples from TQ’s product information, not a complete global list; bike models and specifications can differ by market and model year (TQ HPR60 product page).

When comparing complete bikes with this drive, look beyond the motor badge. Relevant differences include the bike’s intended category and terrain, complete-bike weight and components, installed battery capacity, confirmed extender compatibility, regional speed class, software configuration and local dealer support. TQ’s published information does not provide standardized cross-bike tests or a definitive ranking.

The HPR60 belongs to an integrated system that includes the drive unit, battery, display, remote, app, software and sensors. TQ’s service documentation describes dealer installation and system service, not a generic retrofit for arbitrary bicycle frames. Installation and compatibility therefore depend on a bike designed for the system.

TQ’s service manual also directs users to use the designated TQ charger and an original HPR battery, warns against high-pressure washing, and gives precautions for battery damage and the charging port. For diagnosis, firmware updates, service reports and e-bike settings, the manual describes a Dealer Service Tool used in the service context (TQ HPR60 service manual).
How does the HPR60 compare with the HPR50?
TQ calls the HPR60 the next generation of the HPR50, but the cited material does not establish a controlled, independent comparison between the two. The HPR60’s published specifications are clear; claims about comparative riding feel, efficiency, noise or performance should not be treated as independently verified without comparable testing. For a bike purchase, compare the complete models and their installed system configurations rather than relying on the motor name alone.
