That makes it a more adaptable option for riders who want selectable gears for hills and changing urban terrain. But published range, weight and some component details for the current CGO600 Pro vary by market and configuration, so they should not be treated as universal Pro-C specifications.
Which CGO600 Pro-C does this review cover?
This review covers the Pro-C configuration described in TENWAYS’s March 10, 2025 launch article: an 8-speed Shimano Claris chain drivetrain and a TENWAYS C9 rear-hub motor rated at 45 Nm. TENWAYS presented it as an evolution of the CGO600 Pro for urban riding and inclines. TENWAYS’s launch description is the clearest basis for identifying the Pro-C.
Do not confuse that setup with every bike currently sold under the CGO600 Pro name. TENWAYS’s current US listing distinguishes a chain version from a Gates CDN belt-drive version, and assigns them different motors. Its international page describes a belt-drive Pro. Those pages are useful context, but they do not establish that every market’s current Pro-C has the same component package.
Does the Pro-C have gears, and how does it compare with the belt-drive Pro?
Yes. The Pro-C launch configuration has eight selectable gears and a chain. The belt-drive CGO600 Pro is a different drivetrain choice, not simply the same bike with an alternate belt: current US specifications also list a different motor for that version.

A chain drivetrain calls for routine cleaning and lubrication, while a belt avoids chain lubrication and is generally the lower-fuss option for ordinary upkeep. In exchange, the Pro-C’s gears let the rider select a ratio instead of relying on one fixed drivetrain ratio. Neither setup is universally better: choose based on terrain, riding preferences and the exact bike you can buy and service locally. The available specifications do not establish a universal Pro-C gear range or prove that every market offers both versions.
What is the real range?
No independently measured Pro-C range is established here. TENWAYS’s current international CGO600 Pro page lists a 360 Wh battery and claims up to 100 km; its US CGO600 Pro information claims up to 53 miles for the listed configuration. These are manufacturer estimates for regional CGO600 Pro listings, not verified real-world results for every Pro-C. TENWAYS says actual range varies with temperature, road conditions, rider weight and other factors.

For planning a commute, treat “up to” as a best-case ceiling rather than a distance to count on every day. Allow a reserve for cold weather, hills, extra load and the return trip, and check that the battery can be charged where you park. The two regional claims should not be combined into a single universal range specification.
Is it a good commuter, and how heavy is it?
The launch configuration’s gears and 45 Nm motor rating make the Pro-C a plausible city commuter, particularly where routes include inclines or frequent changes in pace. That rating is a manufacturer specification, not a measurement of hill-climbing performance. The available evidence does not establish independent ride results, braking tests or long-term reliability, so a test ride and local service check matter more than a promise implied by the “urban glider” name.

Weight figures require particular care. TENWAYS’s US CGO600 Pro listing gives 37 lb net and 41 lb full, with a stated ±3–5% tolerance. Those are market-specific CGO600 Pro figures, not a verified Pro-C weight for every region. If you will carry the bike up stairs or lift it onto transit, confirm the exact bike’s weight with the seller and account for any accessories or removable parts included in the quoted figure.
The current US listing gives sizes M, L and XL. Check the available size range and fit for your height and riding position in your market rather than assuming those sizes apply to the Pro-C globally.

What to verify before buying
- Exact drivetrain and motor: Get the complete component specification in writing. Confirm whether it is the 8-speed Shimano chain-drive Pro-C or a belt-drive Pro configuration, and verify the motor model.
- Local rules: Assistance limits vary by market. The international CGO600 Pro page lists a 25 km/h cutoff; the US listing claims assistance up to 20 mph. Confirm the limit for the bike sold where you live.
- Range against your route: Compare your round-trip distance with a conservative allowance, not the highest manufacturer claim.
- Fit and carrying: Verify frame size, actual weight and whether the bike suits your storage and stair-carrying situation.
- Support and warranty: Ask the seller what warranty applies in your country, who handles service, and how drivetrain or electrical repairs are supported. Terms and service access can depend on the market and seller.
What lock fits the CGO600 Pro-C?
TENWAYS recommends the ABUS GRANIT XPlus or ABUS 6950 SHIELD XPlus 5755L for the CGO600 Pro. That recommendation does not establish direct frame compatibility with every Pro-C version. Before buying a frame-mounted ring lock, have the retailer verify the mounting points and clearance on the exact frame; also check regional availability.
Verdict
The Pro-C’s defining appeal is straightforward: it pairs an 8-speed chain drivetrain with a 45 Nm TENWAYS C9 motor, giving urban riders gears for routes where a single-speed setup may feel limiting. Its strongest alternative is the belt-drive CGO600 Pro for riders who prefer less routine drivetrain maintenance and do not need selectable gears. Because the current regional pages describe different configurations—and do not establish one universal Pro-C weight or range—the smart buy is the exact local specification that fits your route, carrying needs and service options.
