Those were figures visible in the photographed notes—not verified transaction prices or current offers.
What the photographed notes said
Futurism’s March 12, 2025 report by Frank Landymore transcribed a line from the handwritten notes attributed to Trump: “Teslas can be purchased as low as $299/month or $35k.” The report described the appearance as a vehicle sales pitch during Trump’s March 11 event on the White House lawn.
The report also listed these model and price details from the notes:
| Vehicle noted | Price reported from the notes | Qualification in the report |
|---|---|---|
| Model X (Silver) | $112,490 | Full Self-Driving activated |
| Cybertruck (Gray) | $114,000 | Full Self-Driving activated |
| Model Y (Red) | $59,990 | The report lists the price but does not specify an additional qualification for this entry |
These are historical figures reported as appearing in the photograph. The account does not establish that they were final sale prices, available financing terms, or prices Tesla currently offers.

What Trump said about buying a Tesla
Futurism reported that Trump said he was buying a Tesla “as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk.” That is the stated rationale attributed to Trump in the report; it does not establish any motive beyond what he said publicly.

The photograph made handwritten notes visible, and Futurism transcribed the payment-or-price claim and several model prices from them. The report is a secondary news account, not an official event transcript, Tesla price list, financing disclosure, or independent confirmation of transaction prices. Accordingly, the notes are evidence of what the photographed page appeared to say, not a basis for treating the amounts as current buying guidance.
