Triumph launched its 349cc motorcycles in India on April 6, 2026. The six-model lineup keeps familiar “400” names, but the launch report lists a 349cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Its launch-day prices ranged from ₹1.95 lakh to ₹2.90 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.

When did Triumph launch its 350cc motorcycles in India?

Triumph introduced the India-market lineup on April 6, 2026, according to India Today’s Auto Today launch report. The date is in the past; these are not upcoming launches.

The report lists six models: Speed T4, Speed 400, Tracker 400, Scrambler 400, Thruxton 400 and Scrambler 400 XC. Despite their “400” badges, the India-spec bikes use the reported 349cc engine. The Tracker 400 is described as a new addition positioned between the Speed 400 and Scrambler range. The report says the India-spec Tracker uses the same 350cc platform as the other India-market models, unlike its international counterpart.

What are the launch-reported prices?

These are the prices reported at launch for Delhi, not current quotes or on-road totals. Registration, insurance and local charges can change what a buyer pays.

Model Launch-reported ex-showroom Delhi price
Speed T4 ₹1.95 lakh
Speed 400 ₹2.32 lakh
Tracker 400 ₹2.46 lakh
Scrambler 400 ₹2.59 lakh
Thruxton 400 ₹2.66 lakh
Scrambler 400 XC ₹2.90 lakh

Auto Today attributed the revised pricing to the 349cc engine qualifying for the 18% GST slab and reported potential on-road savings of up to ₹21,500. That is the outlet’s maximum-savings claim, not a guaranteed saving for each buyer or a substitute for a current dealer quote.

What engine and performance figures were reported?

The launch report describes a 349cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It reports different outputs across model groups:

Model or models Reported power Reported torque
Speed T4 29 bhp at 7,500 rpm 31 Nm at 5,500 rpm
Speed 400, Scrambler 400, Scrambler 400 XC 37 bhp at 8,500 rpm 32 Nm at 7,000 rpm
Thruxton 400, Tracker 400 40 bhp at 8,750 rpm 32 Nm at 7,500 rpm

These are figures reported at launch, not results from an independent test. The sources do not establish comparative handling or real-world performance between the models.

How should buyers compare the six models?

The lineup spans roadster, Scrambler, Tracker and Thruxton styling. Use the reported price and output figures to narrow the shortlist, then assess each model in person for fit and intended use rather than assuming the styling labels prove a particular handling advantage.

  • For the lowest reported entry price: the Speed T4 was listed at ₹1.95 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, with 29 bhp and 31 Nm.
  • For the highest reported power: the Tracker 400 and Thruxton 400 were listed at 40 bhp; their launch-reported torque was 32 Nm.
  • For Scrambler styling: compare the Scrambler 400 and Scrambler 400 XC, whose launch-reported price difference was ₹31,000 in Delhi.

Before committing, ask a local Triumph dealer about stock, the exact India-market version, and an itemised on-road quote. The launch report does not establish current availability by city or current local retail prices.

What is the Bajaj-Triumph connection?

Bajaj Auto’s April 10, 2023 company release says the companies jointly developed a mid-sized Triumph range and that production would take place at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant. It also says Bajaj took over Triumph India’s sales and marketing operations effective April 1, 2023. This provides partnership and production context; it is not an announcement of the 2026 launch.

In a separate September 22, 2025 company release, Bajaj Auto said the then-listed Speed 400, Speed T4, Scrambler 400 X and Thruxton 400 would retain their ex-showroom prices after a GST revision. The release predates the 349cc lineup, so it does not confirm current prices for the six models listed here.

What does Triumph’s 2027 notice mean?

Triumph India’s modern-classic page displays a notice for four new models coming in 2027 and refers to 350cc. That separate forward-looking notice does not change the April 2026 launch date or establish the names of those future models.
