The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS spy shots were published on 7 March 2024 and show a test mule—not a newly spotted 2026 or 2027 bike. The photographs led Autocar India to infer electronically adjustable suspension and clip-on handlebars. Triumph later confirmed Öhlins SmartEC3 semi-active suspension on the 2025 production RS, but the production handlebar setup is not confirmed by the cited sources.
What the 2024 spy shots appeared to show
Autocar India’s 7 March 2024 report, “Updated Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS spotted testing”, interpreted the test-mule photographs as showing two possible changes:
- Electronically adjustable suspension: an apparent clue in the images, rather than a complete specification confirmed by Triumph at the time.
- Clip-on handlebars: a visual observation that could suggest a different riding position. It remains a prototype clue, not confirmed production equipment in the sources available here.
Spy photos can reveal visible hardware, but they cannot by themselves establish whether a feature will reach the showroom model. In this case, the suspension inference was later supported by Triumph’s production announcement; the handlebar inference was not.
What Triumph confirmed for the 2025 production RS
On 27 January 2025, Triumph announced the production Speed Triple 1200 RS and specified Öhlins SmartEC3 semi-active suspension. That confirms the broad suspension direction suggested by the mule, but the production announcement—not the earlier photographs—is the evidence for the production bike’s system. The distinction matters: the spy report described what appeared to be on a test bike, while Triumph’s launch material established what it put on the 2025 production RS. The cited production information does not independently verify clip-on handlebars.
Production specifications: figures from Triumph India
Triumph Motorcycles India’s current Speed Triple 1200 RS page lists these manufacturer-published engine figures. They are not independent test measurements, and specifications may differ by market or model year.

Triumph’s cited 2027 information concerns appearance and an accessory: the UK model listing shows Jet Black and Maui Blue, and the manufacturer’s announcement identifies a matching Maui Blue flyscreen with a Jet Black RS graphic as an accessory. The cited announcement does not establish a newly redesigned engine or chassis for 2027. Check local-market availability and confirm year-specific fitment before ordering the 2027 colour information and matching flyscreen details.
