Yes. Spyker announced the C8 Preliator XXV Coupé on 14 August 2026, presenting it at The Quail during Monterey Car Week as the start of a new era for the Dutch marque. The announcement describes a hand-built, 800-hp twin-turbo V8 hypercar with a manual gearbox, limited to 25 individually commissioned cars. Those are manufacturer claims, not independently tested performance results.
What Spyker announced
Spyker’s 14 August 2026 launch release names the car the C8 Preliator XXV Coupé. The company says chassis 270 was shown at The Quail in Carmel, California, and that the car would also appear at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on 16 August.
Founder and CEO Victor Muller called the launch “a new era for Spyker” and said the partnership with co-owner Volodymyr Nosov underlines the brand’s and shareholders’ long-term ambitions. Nosov described the Coupé as “the first statement of that ambition” and added, “this is only the beginning.”
What Spyker claims about the powertrain
The launch release specifies a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 800 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque, paired with what Spyker calls a true manual gearbox. Spyker also claims a top speed exceeding 217 mph. The reviewed launch coverage contains no independent road test or verification of those figures, so they should be read as the manufacturer’s specifications rather than proven results.

How the car is built and designed
Hand-built structure
Spyker says the XXV will have a hand-built aluminum body and a redesigned spaceframe engineered in-house. The company says building a Spyker takes approximately 2,100 hours; that is a company-stated figure, not an independently audited production-time measure.
Aviation-inspired details
The company emphasizes an analogue cockpit and aviation motifs, including NACA air-intake ducts, an exposed gear linkage and rear lights shaped like fighter-jet afterburners. Spyker also describes a “butterfly mode” in which the car’s panels open, including those around the engine bay.

How exclusive is the C8 Preliator XXV?
Spyker says it plans to build 25 cars, each individually commissioned. That is a stated production limit; the launch release does not provide an official reservation tally or price.
On 14 August 2026, RTL Z reported a €1.5 million price and said Muller reported that 19 of the 25 cars had sold. Those figures are RTL Z’s attributed reporting, not prices or sales figures published in Spyker’s release. Autocar’s launch-day story said the price had not been disclosed at its publication time, so the reported price should not be treated as an uncontested official list price.

What “Spyker revived” means
The announcement is a new chapter, not the beginning of Spyker’s modern-era return. According to the marque’s heritage timeline, Victor R. Muller presented the C8 Spyder at the British International Motor Show in Birmingham on 17 October 2000. Spyker traces its roots further back to Dutch coachbuilding in 1880. The C8 Preliator XXV announcement therefore builds on a modern relaunch that began in 2000.
