One motorcycle is being reported as a Bonneville 400; Triumph has not officially confirmed that identification. What Triumph has confirmed about the October 6 reveal
Triumph has teased four motorcycles for an October 6, 2026 reveal. Reports describe them as part of its 2027 range, but say their model names and specifications have not yet been announced. Autocar India identifies one expected motorcycle as the Bonneville 400, while Times of India Auto stresses that the teased retro silhouette has not been officially identified.
That distinction matters: “Bonneville 400” is a reported interpretation of teaser and prototype coverage, not a confirmed production model name in the available material. The October 6 announcement is the point at which Triumph may confirm the identity and specifications; until then, treat the details below as expectations.
What the reported Bonneville-style motorcycle may look like
Prototype observations and interpretations of the teaser point to a classic roadster profile. Autocar India describes upright gaitered forks, twin rear shocks, a teardrop-shaped tank, classic fenders, a flat seat, a round headlamp and peashooter-style exhausts. Times of India Auto also notes a large tank, flat seat, twin shocks and wire-spoke wheels. These are reported cues, not a final production equipment list.

Prototype components, finishes and proportions can change before production. Neither the silhouette nor the reported suspension and styling details establish exactly what the finished motorcycle will include.
Expected engine: the India-spec figure is unconfirmed
Times of India Auto reports that an India-spec version is expected to use a 349cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. BikeWale previously reported a 349cc engine for India and a 398cc engine for export markets in its April 7, 2026 coverage. Both figures are expectations from reporting, not specifications confirmed by Triumph; the final engine configuration may vary by market.

No Bonneville-specific power, torque or engine tune has been confirmed. Do not assume the motorcycle will share output figures with other Triumph 400 models: the official Tracker 400 and Thruxton 400 announcement gives those separate models 42PS at 9,000rpm from an enhanced 398cc TR-Series engine. That is not a Bonneville 400 specification. Likewise, the 29 bhp and 31 Nm figures for the Speed T4, cited as context in Times of India Auto’s report, must not be attributed to this motorcycle.
Price, bookings and availability are not confirmed
The reports available before the reveal do not establish an official price, booking opening, delivery schedule, exact launch date or confirmed market availability. BikeWale’s earlier Q4 2026 India launch forecast is a forecast, not a Triumph commitment, and its displayed indicative price should not be treated as official. Wait for Triumph to state the price and sales timeline for the specific market before making a purchase decision.

Triumph and Bajaj Auto have an established India-market partnership: Bajaj’s July 2023 announcement says the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X were designed by Triumph and produced at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant. That background does not confirm where a Bonneville-style motorcycle would be built, or whether and when bookings for it will open. The online booking and dealer information in that announcement applies to those named models, not to an unconfirmed Bonneville.
How it may compare with other retro roadsters
Autocar India places the expected motorcycle in the broad orbit of retro roadsters such as the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Bullet 350 and Honda CB350 range. This is a useful editorial comparison set, not a competitor list announced by Triumph. A meaningful model-to-model comparison will depend on confirmed market-specific price, engine output, equipment and availability.
