Short answer: Treat “Triumph Bonneville 350” as shorthand for the India-listed Bonneville T4. Choose the T4 if its higher published output, six-speed gearbox, rider aids and connected display justify spending more. Choose the Royal Enfield Classic 350 if your priority is the lower entry price and a simpler air-oil-cooled, five-speed package.
Do not confuse the T4 with the separately announced Bonneville T40 and T40 Black. Triumph’s 6 October 2026 announcement says the T40 models reach dealerships from spring 2027, with prices to be announced in early 2027, while India product pages currently show T40 pricing. Confirm the exact model, variant, delivery timing and on-road quote with an authorised dealer before paying a booking amount.

What is the actual comparison?
There is no India product page titled exactly “Bonneville 350.” That phrase is useful buyer shorthand for Triumph’s 350cc-class modern-classic, but the directly listed India model is the Bonneville T4. The other motorcycle in this comparison is the Royal Enfield Classic 350. They occupy a similar displacement category and styling brief, yet they are not identical in equipment, engine specification or pricing method.
Triumph has also announced the Bonneville T40 and T40 Black as distinct models. The announcement dated 6 October 2026 describes first dealership arrivals from spring 2027 and says prices will be announced in early 2027. At the same time, Triumph India pages retrieved for the T40 show an ex-showroom Delhi price of ₹279,999. Those statements do not establish a guaranteed local delivery date or a final price for every market. This article therefore compares the currently listed T4 with the currently listed Classic 350, and treats the T40 as a separate availability issue.

All prices and specifications below are manufacturer-published India figures. Confirm the exact variant because Triumph and Royal Enfield both indicate that equipment or specifications can vary by version.
Quick specification comparison
| Published specification | Triumph Bonneville T4 (India) | Royal Enfield Classic 350 (India) |
|---|---|---|
| Engine | 350cc-class liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-valve DOHC; Triumph’s specification table states 350cc, while its India listing states 349cc | 349cc single-cylinder, air-oil cooled |
| Peak power | 29 PS (29.1 bhp) at 7,000 rpm | 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm |
| Peak torque | 31.2 Nm at 5,500 rpm | 27 Nm at 4,000 rpm |
| Transmission | Six-speed | Five-speed |
| Published weight | 195kg wet | 195kg kerb, specified with 90% fuel and oil |
| Seat height | 790mm | 805mm (Royal Enfield measurement designation J1A) |
| Fuel capacity | 14.5 litres | 13 litres |
| Brakes and ABS | 310mm front and 255mm rear discs, ABS | 300mm front and 270mm rear discs, dual-channel ABS |
| Rider aids | Three riding modes and traction control advertised on the India T4 page | Dual-channel ABS; no equivalent riding-mode or traction-control package is listed on the cited specification page |
| Display and connectivity | Circular 4-inch LCD with turn-by-turn navigation, phone control and music control as described by Triumph India | USB-C charger listed |
| Published price context | ₹254,999 ex-showroom Delhi | Starts at ₹1.87 lakh in India |
The two 195kg figures should not be treated as a controlled weigh-off. Triumph labels its number “wet weight,” whereas Royal Enfield specifies kerb weight with 90% fuel and oil. Different test and labeling conventions can produce similar published numbers without proving that the motorcycles feel equally heavy.
Price: the Classic 350 is the lower-cost entry point
Triumph India lists the Bonneville T4 at ₹254,999 ex-showroom Delhi. Royal Enfield lists the Classic 350 as starting at ₹1.87 lakh in India. One figure is a specific ex-showroom Delhi price for the T4; the other is a starting price, so the apparent gap is not a complete ownership-cost comparison.

- OEM Number: 1570120. This 2-pack replacement oil filter is built to match the original Royal Enfield 350 service part, so it goes in the same way at your next oil change with no guesswork about the right part.
- Compatible With: Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Classic 350, Hunter 350, and Bullet 350 models (2021 and newer). It replaces the original 1570120 filter shared by these 350cc bikes, so one part number keeps your service shelf simple.
- Multi-layer paper filter media is designed for effective filtration. It traps dirt and metal wear so the oil stays cleaner through the full service interval, and your 350 stays ready for the miles ahead.
- Two filters in one order means you are set for this service and the next one. Keep the spare on the shelf, and the next oil change is already covered without an extra parts run.
- Made for the home garage. The filter matches the original thread and sealing surface, installs with standard tools, and its secure sealing design keeps the swap clean and straightforward at every 350 service.
What to request from each dealer
- Model name and exact variant code, including the model year.
- Ex-showroom price and every applicable tax or levy.
- Registration, insurance, handling or documentation charges shown separately.
- Current stock status, manufacturing date and realistic delivery window.
- Warranty terms, scheduled-service intervals and the price of optional maintenance packages.
- Accessory prices and confirmation that each accessory fits that model year.
Neither manufacturer page establishes a comparative service-cost advantage, resale-value advantage or reliability advantage. Those ownership outcomes depend on location, use, dealer support and time; they should not be inferred from the launch price.
Engine output and gearing
The T4’s published engine is a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-valve DOHC unit in the 350cc class. Triumph publishes 29 PS (29.1 bhp) at 7,000rpm and 31.2Nm at 5,500rpm. The Classic 350 uses a 349cc single-cylinder engine with air-oil cooling, rated at 20.2bhp at 6,100rpm and 27Nm at 4,000rpm.
On paper, the T4 therefore has the stronger peak figures. That can be relevant when you carry a passenger, merge onto a faster road or prefer more reserve at higher speeds. It does not, by itself, predict acceleration, refinement, heat management, fuel consumption or overtaking performance in every situation. Final gearing, throttle calibration, rider mass, traffic and road gradient all influence how a motorcycle feels.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The T4’s six-speed gearbox provides one more ratio than the Classic’s five-speed unit. A sixth gear can allow closer spacing through the middle of the rev range and a lower engine speed in suitable cruising conditions, but the benefit depends on the actual ratios and your riding environment. The Classic’s five-speed arrangement is mechanically simpler in specification terms and may suit riders who prefer fewer shifts in urban traffic.

How to interpret the manufacturer figures
- They are specification-sheet outputs, not results from an independent back-to-back road test.
- Peak power occurs at different engine speeds, so the numbers cannot describe the complete torque curve.
- Do not convert the published figures into a guaranteed top speed or fuel-economy result.
- Take a passenger ride or test ride if highway merging, hill climbing or two-up touring is central to your decision.
Equipment, braking and electronics
The T4 specification combines a 310mm front disc and 255mm rear disc with ABS. Triumph India also advertises three riding modes and traction control. Its circular 4-inch LCD is described as supporting turn-by-turn navigation plus phone and music control. Those features make the T4 the more electronics-focused choice in this pairing, provided the equipment is included on the exact variant you are offered.
The Classic 350 uses a 300mm front disc and 270mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. Royal Enfield lists a USB-C charger. The published equipment does not describe an equivalent selectable riding-mode and traction-control system or a built-in navigation interface. A phone mount or separate navigation device may be possible, but treat that as an additional accessory rather than standard equipment.
Disc diameter alone does not establish stopping distance. Tyre condition, compound, road surface, ABS calibration, rider input and load all matter. Use the test ride to check lever reach, rear-brake feel, low-speed balance and whether the display remains readable in your normal riding conditions.

Seat height and suitability for shorter riders
Triumph publishes a 790mm seat height for the T4; Royal Enfield publishes 805mm for the Classic 350. The 15mm difference may help some riders at a standstill, but seat height is not a complete fit measurement. Inseam length, seat width, tank shape, handlebar position, footwear, suspension sag and how confidently you can balance the motorcycle matter just as much.

- Great Biker design for menn women. An excellent present idea for motorcyclist dad, mom, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend or friends that are motorbike and scooter riders.
- Perfect tee for dad, mom, papa, mama, grandpa, grandma, uncle, kids in Birthday, Christmas, New Year, Father's Day, Mother's Day or any day year round!
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
Triumph’s T40 accessory information lists a low seat that reduces the fitted seat height from 790mm to 770mm. That is a T40-specific accessory reference, not evidence that the same part fits a T4 or Classic 350. Verify compatibility with the exact model and year before ordering; do not assume that a lower seat preserves the same foam support or riding position.
A practical fit check
- Wear the footwear and riding trousers you normally use.
- Ask the dealer to place the motorcycle on level ground with the suspension set as delivered.
- Sit in your natural position, not perched on the tank or leaning to one side.
- Check whether you can place one foot securely while keeping the other on the brake, then try both feet if that is your preference.
- Turn the handlebar fully and move the bike at walking pace to assess balance and steering effort.
- Repeat the check with a passenger or luggage only if that reflects your actual use.
A lower published seat does not make one motorcycle universally easier to ride. Confidence comes from the whole contact triangle and the motorcycle’s balance, not one dimension.

If a salesperson advertises a “Bonneville 350,” ask whether the motorcycle is the India-listed T4 or one of the newer T40 models. The T4 page is the basis for the price and specifications in this comparison. The T40 and T40 Black were announced separately on 6 October 2026, with Triumph describing first dealership arrivals from spring 2027 and prices to be announced in early 2027.
India pages currently visible for the T40 show ₹279,999 ex-showroom Delhi. Because that live-page figure and the announcement’s future-pricing language are not reconciled, neither should be treated as a universal final price or a guarantee that a T40 is deliverable in your city now. Request written confirmation of stock, booking status, homologation, warranty start date and delivery commitment.

- DURABLE DESIGN: Heavy-duty motorcycle footpegs constructed with high-strength materials for lasting performance and reliability.
- COMFORT FOCUSED: Ergonomically designed pegs provide superior grip and stability during rides, reducing fatigue on long journeys.
- EASY MOUNTING: Quick and secure installation system ensures proper fitment and stable attachment to your motorcycle.
- SLEEK APPEARANCE: Premium black deluxe finish adds a sophisticated look while maintaining excellent durability.
- UNIVERSAL COMPATIBILITY: Designed to fit multiple motorcycle models with standard mounting configurations.
Do not compare a T40 quote with the T4 or Classic 350 as though they were the same motorcycle. Their feature packages and model identities are distinct. If a dealer offers an early T40 booking, have the invoice identify the exact variant and state what happens if the quoted price or delivery schedule changes.
Which motorcycle should you buy?
Choose the Bonneville T4 when these priorities dominate
- You want the higher published power and torque figures in this comparison.
- A six-speed transmission is important for the way you expect to ride.
- You value the T4’s advertised riding modes, traction control and integrated navigation-oriented display.
- The T4’s higher listed price fits your budget after insurance, registration and equipment.
- You have confirmed a nearby authorised service outlet and the exact variant’s availability.
This is a specification-and-price recommendation, not a claim that the T4 is faster, smoother, more reliable or cheaper to maintain in every real-world situation. Establish those personal priorities with a test ride and local ownership quotation.
Choose the Classic 350 when these priorities dominate
- You want the lower published starting price.
- You prefer an air-oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine and a five-speed transmission.
- USB-C charging is sufficient and you do not need the T4’s listed electronic aids.
- The Classic’s riding position, dealer support and available trim suit you better in person.
- You want to direct the price difference toward protective gear, luggage or training rather than additional motorcycle equipment.
The Classic’s lower entry price does not guarantee lower total ownership cost. Insurance, tyres, service, accessories, financing and resale conditions vary by rider and city. Obtain the same categories of quote for both motorcycles before deciding.
A buying process that avoids the common mistakes
- Identify the model precisely. Write “Bonneville T4,” “Classic 350,” or the exact T40 variant on every quotation. Reject a quote that says only “Bonneville 350.”
- Check the current India page and dealer stock. Prices, equipment and delivery schedules are volatile. Ask when the quoted stock was manufactured and whether the displayed specification matches that unit.
- Compare like-for-like money. Put ex-showroom, registration, insurance, accessories, financing fees and any dealer charges in separate columns. Do not subtract a starting price from a specific city price and call the result your final saving.
- Test fit and ride both motorcycles. Evaluate clutch effort, steering at walking speed, brake feel, reach to the ground, display visibility and passenger comfort.
- Verify ownership support. Confirm the nearest authorised workshop, warranty exclusions, service schedule, parts lead times and roadside-assistance terms in writing.
- Review the final invoice. Ensure the model year, variant, colour, accessories, promised delivery date and refund or cancellation terms match what the salesperson told you.
What the published specifications cannot answer
The available manufacturer pages do not provide an independent comparison of real-world mileage, vibration, ride comfort, reliability, resale value, owner satisfaction or long-term service expense. They also do not establish which motorcycle will be quicker in every gear or more comfortable on every road. Those questions require consistent road testing and local ownership evidence, neither of which is represented by the specification figures above.
Use the numbers to narrow the choice, then validate the parts that depend on your circumstances: route speed, passenger frequency, inseam, traffic, fuel availability, dealer distance and annual budget. A rider who values connected equipment may rationally pay for the T4 even if the Classic meets every basic transport need. A rider who wants the lowest entry price may rationally choose the Classic even though its published output is lower.
Bottom line
For India buyers comparing the currently listed motorcycles, the Bonneville T4 is the equipment-and-output choice, while the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is the lower-price choice. The decision is sensible only after you confirm the exact variant, obtain comparable on-road quotes and sit on or ride both bikes. Treat any T40 offer separately until Triumph’s announced pricing and spring-2027 delivery timing are confirmed for your location.
