What is the most reliable Toyota for 2026? In the current iSeeCars model ranking, the Land Cruiser is first with a displayed reliability score of 8.7 out of 10. The list also places the Land Cruiser hybrid, Avalon, Tacoma and Sequoia near the top. This is an iSeeCars ranking—not a Consumer Reports model table. Consumer Reports separately ranked Toyota first among new-car brands for predicted reliability in its 2026 report card, but that is a brand-level result and cannot be converted into a complete Toyota model order.
Two 2026 Toyota reliability results answer different questions
There is no single industry-wide “Toyota reliability score.” The answer depends on which publisher’s method you mean and whether you are comparing a brand or an individual model.

- iSeeCars model ranking: A 2026 Toyota list with separate entries for many body styles and powertrains. It uses a 10-point reliability scale. The visible list starts with the Land Cruiser at 8.7/10.
- Consumer Reports brand report card: Toyota ranked first for new-car brand reliability in the 2026 report card. That result describes Toyota as a brand; the accessible material does not provide a complete, verified Consumer Reports ordering of every Toyota model.
Those results should not be blended into one table. A model’s iSeeCars position is not a Consumer Reports score, and Toyota’s first-place brand result does not prove that every Toyota model has the same reliability.

That is why the table retains both “Camry (hybrid)” and “Camry Hybrid,” as well as both “RAV4 (hybrid)” and “RAV4 Hybrid,” instead of silently merging them. What the iSeeCars score actually measures
iSeeCars describes its method as proprietary longevity research conducted by vehicle segment. Its analysis covers more than 12 million cars, and the resulting reliability rating is presented as a score out of 10. In practical terms, the list is intended to identify Toyota entries associated with lasting a long time relative to other vehicles in their segments.
That methodology is different from a survey of reported defects in a particular model year. A longevity-based result can reflect how vehicles survive over time, while a predicted-reliability survey is designed to estimate the likelihood of problems for a newer vehicle. Neither method is a mechanical inspection of the specific car sitting in front of you.
The 8.7/10 attached to the Land Cruiser therefore means “highest displayed iSeeCars rating in this list,” not “87 percent chance of zero repairs,” “87 percent reliability over a fixed mileage,” or a warranty. The source does not establish numeric scores for the remaining entries in the material available here, so assigning them values would create false precision.
What Consumer Reports found for Toyota in 2026
Consumer Reports ranked Toyota first for new-car brand reliability in its 2026 automotive report card. Its latest annual reliability survey collected information on about 380,000 vehicles, covering model years 2000 through 2025 and some early 2026 models.
Rank #2

- [Good Quality] Detailed interior and exterior trim, using high grade alloy die-cast into form.
- [Great Diecast Toy Car] Made of non-toxic paint spray, doesn’t contain harmful substances, protecting the safety of children greatly.
- [Funny Pull Back Car Model] Left and right doors can be opened. Place the car on the ground, press down on the body and pull it back, the car will move forward.
- [Awesome Toy for Kids] Sturdy body, fine workmanship. Suitable for collections, birthdays, Christmas and decorations. Great for kids, boys, girls and adults.
Consumer Reports builds reliability histories from member reports across multiple problem areas. For a new or redesigned vehicle, its prediction can draw on earlier model-year data when the generation is sufficiently comparable. The report card also combines other inputs for overall brand rankings, so the first-place Toyota result should not be described as a pure, model-by-model reliability order.
Consumer Reports’ own guidance is deliberately probabilistic: “However, buying a car that has an above-average score for predicted reliability will reduce the likelihood that you’ll have significant problems with your car.” The important word is reduce. An above-average prediction lowers risk; it does not remove it and does not guarantee a trouble-free ownership experience.

Why model year, generation and powertrain matter
A reliability label is meaningful only in context. The same nameplate can span several generations, and a major redesign can change engines, transmissions, electronics, suspension components and manufacturing suppliers. A result based on earlier vehicles should not automatically be treated as a prediction for a newly introduced generation.
Model-year coverage
Consumer Reports’ survey window includes older vehicles through 2025 plus some early 2026 vehicles. That broad range is useful for identifying recurring patterns, but it also means the data may combine several generations. When comparing a 2026 purchase, look for evidence that specifically covers the generation and model year you intend to own.

Hybrid and plug-in entries
iSeeCars lists many hybrids separately: Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Tacoma, 4Runner, Tundra, Highlander, Camry, RAV4 and Sienna entries are not necessarily interchangeable with their non-hybrid counterparts. The Prius Plug-in Hybrid is also its own entry. A hybrid can share a body shell with a gasoline model while using different motors, battery controls, cooling systems and transmission hardware, so do not transfer one entry’s position to another.
Body style and use
A pickup, three-row SUV, sedan, minivan and plug-in hatchback face different operating demands. Towing, off-road use, heavy cargo, frequent short trips and long highway commutes expose components differently. The ranking can help narrow candidates within their segments, but it does not decide whether a vehicle fits your workload or driving environment.
How to use the ranking when shopping
- Choose the rating system you intend to use. If you want a model-level ordered list with a 10-point scale, use the iSeeCars positions as iSeeCars results. If you want Consumer Reports’ predicted-reliability perspective, consult its current model page and verify the exact model year; do not substitute the brand’s first-place result for a model score.
- Identify the exact configuration. Record the model, body style, drivetrain, hybrid status, plug-in capability and model year. A “Tacoma” search is not specific enough if the source distinguishes Tacoma and Tacoma hybrid.
- Check generation changes. Note whether the vehicle is newly redesigned or carries over an established platform. Treat historical results as context when the mechanical package has changed substantially.
- Separate ranking from condition. For a used vehicle, obtain maintenance records, inspect for accident or flood damage, verify recalls and have an independent mechanic examine the car. A highly ranked model can still be a poor individual purchase if it was neglected.
- Confirm the current score and date. iSeeCars states that its displayed ordering and scores may change. Save the page date and the exact entry name so you know what information supported your decision.
- Balance reliability against your requirements. Compare seating, cargo, towing, charging or fuel access, visibility, insurance and ownership costs separately. Reliability rankings do not establish safety ratings, fuel economy, purchase price or suitability for a particular driver.
Common mistakes when reading Toyota reliability lists
Treating a brand rank as a model rank
Toyota’s first-place Consumer Reports brand result indicates that Toyota performed strongly as a manufacturer in that report card. It does not establish that the Corolla outranks the 4Runner, that every Toyota beats every competitor, or that all Toyota powertrains share one score.
Combining incompatible scales
An iSeeCars 8.7/10 is not mathematically comparable with a Consumer Reports predicted-reliability rating. The providers collect different data, use different models and present results for different purposes. Keep the provider’s name attached to every score.
Assuming “reliable” means maintenance-free
Reliability indicators describe relative likelihood or longevity in a dataset. Oil changes, fluid services, tires, brakes and other scheduled work still matter. Neglect can shorten the life of any vehicle, regardless of where its model appears on a list.

Merging hybrid and gasoline results
When a source lists a hybrid separately, retain that distinction. Combining entries can hide a powertrain-specific result and make the ordering appear more precise than the underlying data.
Using an old ranking as a current guarantee
Scores are time-sensitive. New generations, recalls, software revisions, supply changes and additional owner reports can alter a model’s standing. Recheck the live source immediately before signing a purchase contract.
What “most reliable Toyota” means for different buyers
If you want the highest published iSeeCars position
The Land Cruiser is the direct answer: it is first in the displayed iSeeCars ordering and carries the only numeric value established here, 8.7/10. The Land Cruiser hybrid is listed second, but its score is not stated in the available material, so the two entries cannot be compared numerically from this table.
If you are choosing among trucks and SUVs
The visible list places Tacoma, Sequoia, 4Runner and their separately named hybrid entries near the top, followed by Tundra and Tundra hybrid. Use those positions as a starting shortlist, then match the exact powertrain and generation to towing, cargo and terrain requirements. The ranking alone does not tell you which one is safest, most economical or best for a particular trailer.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf you want a sedan, minivan or compact vehicle
Avalon and Avalon Hybrid appear high in the list, while Prius, Camry entries, Sienna hybrid, Highlander, RAV4, Corolla, Venza hybrid and Prius Plug-in Hybrid appear later. Their positions are not accompanied by verified numeric scores in the available source material. Compare each entry only within the configuration and model year you can actually buy.
Bottom line for a 2026 Toyota purchase
Use the iSeeCars list when you need a model-level ordering: the Land Cruiser leads at 8.7/10, followed by separately listed Land Cruiser hybrid, Avalon, Tacoma and Sequoia entries. Use Consumer Reports for a different signal: Toyota ranked first as a new-car brand, based on a survey of about 380,000 vehicles and related report-card inputs. Neither result guarantees a trouble-free car. The sound decision is to keep the provider and scale visible, verify the exact year and powertrain, check the current listing, and inspect the individual vehicle before buying.
