Which Toyota vehicles are included in recall 25V869?
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) acknowledgment dated December 22, 2025, identifies Toyota recall 25V869, associated with Toyota campaign numbers 25TB15/25TA15. It lists certain 2025–2026 Camry Hybrid and 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles, not every vehicle from those model years. NHTSA’s estimated recall population is 55,405 potentially affected units; that figure is not a tally of confirmed defective vehicles, incidents, or fires. Read NHTSA’s recall acknowledgment.
What is the possible defect, and why could it cause a fire?
The notice says a bolt inside the inverter may not have been tightened properly, leaving incomplete contact at an inverter terminal. If the condition is present, the vehicle could lose motive power, raising crash risk. The notice also warns that an electrical short while the vehicle is powered on could increase fire risk. NHTSA states: “In addition, a loose bolt can cause an electrical short while the vehicle is powered on, increasing the risk of a fire.” This describes a potential consequence, not confirmation that a fire occurred in any particular recalled vehicle.
How to check whether your specific vehicle is affected
Model and year alone cannot establish whether an individual car is included. Use a vehicle-specific lookup:

- Enter the VIN or plate in Toyota’s recall lookup, or search the same information through NHTSA’s recall lookup.
- Review the result for recall 25V869 and follow the instructions shown for that vehicle.
- If a lookup does not show a result, check again later if you remain concerned: NHTSA cautions that some recent recalls may not yet have all affected VINs identified.
Toyota says the specified inspection and/or repair for a safety recall is performed at no charge to the owner.
Is the recall repair available now?
NHTSA’s December 22, 2025 acknowledgment said the remedy was still under development at that time. That dated statement does not establish the remedy’s current status. Check Toyota’s or NHTSA’s vehicle-specific record for current instructions rather than assuming a repair is available—or that the earlier status still applies.
