Toyota raised prices on selected U.S. vehicles in July 2025 by an average of $270. Selected Lexus models rose by an average of $208. Toyota called the change part of its regular pricing review and said it was not directly caused by tariffs.
That is substantially below the largest increases announced by Ford (up to $2,000) and Subaru (up to $2,055), but the figures are not a strict apples-to-apples comparison: Toyota reported an average across selected models, while Ford and Subaru reported maximum increases on particular models or trims.

What Toyota changed in July 2025
The July adjustment covered selected Toyota vehicles sold in the United States. Toyota’s reported average increase was $270. Selected Lexus vehicles received an average increase of $208. Toyota did not publish a complete per-model percentage table with the announcement, so the average should not be treated as the increase for every Toyota vehicle.

How Toyota compares with Ford, Subaru and Mitsubishi
| Automaker | Change reported | Effective timing | Stated explanation or context | What the number measures |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Lexus | $208 average on selected vehicles | July 2025 | Reported alongside Toyota’s adjustment | Average across selected models |
| Ford | Up to $2,000 | May 2, 2025 | Tariffs were among the factors; Ford estimated 2025 tariff costs at about $2.5 billion before an estimated $1 billion offset | Maximum increase on some Mexico-produced Mustang Mach-E, Maverick and Bronco Sport models |
| Subaru | $750 to $2,055 | 2025; the cited announcement did not specify one common effective date | “Current market conditions” | Model-level increases, including a maximum of $2,055 |
| Mitsubishi | 2.1% average | June 2025 | Average increase reported for U.S. vehicle prices | Average across the U.S. lineup |
Why the headline comparison needs care
Average versus maximum
Toyota’s $270 is an average for a defined group of vehicles. Ford’s $2,000 and Subaru’s $2,055 are upper-end increases for specific models or trims. A maximum will normally look larger than a fleet average, even when manufacturers make similar changes elsewhere in their lineups.
Different products and production footprints
Ford’s cited increases applied to Mexico-produced Mustang Mach-E, Maverick and Bronco Sport vehicles. Toyota’s statement covered selected U.S.-market vehicles without publishing a comparable origin-by-origin breakdown. Subaru’s figures covered several models. Vehicle mix, assembly location, equipment and trim therefore affect the size of each change.

Different explanations
Toyota presented the July move as routine price management. Ford explicitly included tariffs among the factors behind its increases, while Subaru cited current market conditions. Those explanations describe each company’s stated reason; they do not establish that tariffs had no broader effect on the market.

- Corolla: $22,325
- Camry: $28,700
- 4Runner: $40,770
Against those starting prices, a $270 change is a relatively small portion of a vehicle’s sticker price. The comparison is only contextual: Toyota’s $270 is an average across selected vehicles, not a confirmed increase applied separately to each of these three models. MSRP also differs from the transaction price a buyer ultimately pays after dealer discounts, financing, accessories, taxes and fees.
What shoppers should check on a 2025 Toyota
- Confirm the vehicle’s model year and build. The July change applied to selected U.S. vehicles, so check the exact model, trim and equipment.
- Read the current window sticker or order sheet. Compare the vehicle’s base MSRP with options, delivery charges and dealer-installed items.
- Separate MSRP from the final deal. Ask for an itemized out-the-door quote; incentives and dealer pricing can outweigh a few hundred dollars of MSRP movement.
- Check the effective price for your market. Regional inventory and dealer policies can change the transaction price even when national MSRP is the same.
What this says about 2025 vehicle pricing
The announcements show that automakers were adjusting prices in different ways during 2025. Toyota used a modest average increase and denied a direct tariff trigger for this adjustment. Ford reported much larger maximum increases on selected Mexico-produced vehicles and identified tariffs as one factor. Subaru’s increases ranged from $750 to $2,055 and were attributed to market conditions. Mitsubishi reported a 2.1% average increase in June.
