Toyota Connected Services: Here’s What They Cost (And If They’re Actually Worth It)

Toyota Connected Services cost $15 to $25 per month for current bundles, while Wi-Fi Connect costs $25 through AT&T. Here is what each service does, how trials work, and which plans are worth keeping.

Toyota Connected Services are not one subscription with one fixed price. Toyota splits the system into Remote Connect, Safety Connect, Service Connect, Drive Connect, Wi-Fi Connect, and Integrated Streaming. Which services you receive—and how long they remain free—depends on the Toyota model, model year, trim, transmission, and equipment.

As of August 9, 2026, Toyota’s main U.S. plans cost $15 per month for Music Lover, $15 per month for Go Anywhere, and $25 per month for Premium. Wi-Fi Connect is a separate $25-per-month AT&T add-on. Taxes, fees, and surcharges may apply.

Toyota Connected Services pricing

Toyota currently lists three main Connected Services bundles. Remote Connect is included with each of them, but Toyota does not show a standalone Remote Connect price on its current plans page.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Plan What it includes Advertised price
Music Lover Remote Connect plus Integrated Streaming for existing Apple Music and Amazon Music accounts $15/month
Go Anywhere Remote Connect plus Drive Connect, including Cloud Navigation, Intelligent Assistant, and Destination Assist $15/month
Premium Remote Connect, Drive Connect, and Integrated Streaming $25/month
Wi-Fi Connect AT&T 4G LTE in-vehicle hotspot $25/month via AT&T

These are subscription prices, not necessarily the final amount charged. Toyota’s terms allow monthly, annual, or other subscription arrangements, and taxes and surcharges are added. Toyota can also change pricing.

Toyota’s 2026 applicability chart separately lists Service Connect at $8 per month in its renewal-pricing section. However, Service Connect pricing and availability are vehicle-specific, and the chart says it is not renewable as a standalone product for the 2026 GR86 entry. The subscription screen in the Toyota app or My Toyota account is the definitive source for a particular vehicle.

See Toyota’s current Connected Services plans and the 2026 applicability chart before assuming a service is available for your car.

What Toyota Connected Services actually do

Remote Connect

Remote Connect is the service most owners are thinking about when they ask whether a Toyota subscription is worth paying for. Depending on the vehicle, it can provide:

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Remote engine start and stop
  • Remote climate control
  • Remote locking and unlocking
  • Vehicle or last-parked-location information
  • Vehicle-status notifications
  • Guest Driver monitoring and alerts
  • Remote headlights, hazard lights, or horn
  • Lock/unlock confirmation
  • Digital Key on supported vehicles

Most functions are accessed through the Toyota app. Supported vehicles may also work with the key fob or a smartwatch. An active trial or paid subscription is required for Remote Connect.

Digital Key is not a free workaround for the subscription. Toyota says it requires an active Remote Connect subscription and Bluetooth connectivity. Remote Connect is also unavailable on manual-transmission vehicles under Toyota’s 2026 disclosures, and some manual-transmission models do not support remote start.

Safety Connect

Safety Connect is Toyota’s emergency-response service. It includes:

  • In-vehicle emergency assistance through the SOS button
  • Automatic Collision Notification
  • Enhanced Roadside Assistance
  • Stolen Vehicle Locator

Automatic Collision Notification is not a guaranteed crash detector. Toyota says it is designed to activate after airbag deployment or certain severe rear-end collisions, but only in limited circumstances.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Stolen Vehicle Locator also is not an owner-operated GPS tracker. You must file a police report, obtain the report or case number, and contact Toyota’s response center. Toyota personnel then work with law enforcement.

Service Connect

Service Connect supplies the Toyota app with:

  • Vehicle Health Reports
  • Vehicle alerts
  • Maintenance alerts and reminders
  • Applicable recall and service-campaign information

Open the Toyota app or My Toyota dashboard and look under the “Vehicle Diagnostic Data” card for vehicle and maintenance alerts.

Garmin DriveSmart 66, 6-inch Car GPS Navigator with Bright, Crisp High-Resolution Maps and Garmin Voice Assist
  • 6” high-resolution navigator includes map updates of North America
  • Hands-free calling when paired with your compatible smartphone with BLUETOOTH technology and convenient Garmin voice assist lets you ask for directions to places you want to go
  • Road trip–ready features include the HISTORY database of notable sites, a U.S. national parks directory, Tripadvisor traveler ratings and millions of Foursquare POIs
  • Driver alerts for things such as school zones, sharp curves and speed changes help encourage safer driving and increase situational awareness
  • Access live traffic, fuel prices, parking, weather and smart notifications when you pair this navigator with your compatible smartphone running the Garmin Drive app

The important limitation is that Service Connect is not real-time. The data reflects the last time Toyota collected information from the vehicle. It should supplement—not replace—checking fluid levels, inspecting tires, reading warning lights, and keeping service records.

Drive Connect

Drive Connect is Toyota’s built-in connected-navigation package. It includes:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Cloud Navigation
  • Google Points of Interest data
  • Intelligent Assistant, Toyota’s “Hey Toyota” voice system
  • Destination Assist

Destination Assist connects you with a live agent who can send an address or point of interest to the vehicle’s navigation system. From the Cloud Navigation screen, the menu path is:

Cloud Navigation → Menu → Destination Assist

You can also say “Hi, Toyota, call Destination Assist.” Alternatively, press the steering-wheel Talk Switch, say “Call Destination Assist,” and answer “Yes” when prompted.

Wi-Fi Connect and Integrated Streaming

Wi-Fi Connect turns the vehicle into an AT&T 4G LTE hotspot. The number of supported devices depends on the vehicle and model year: Toyota’s 2026 documentation lists up to 10 devices for applicable vehicles, while Toyota’s general Connected Services material describes support for up to five. The vehicle’s own documentation controls.

Integrated Streaming lets occupants use existing Apple Music or Amazon Music subscriptions through the vehicle’s Audio Source system. It requires both a supported music subscription and an active Wi-Fi Connect subscription. Toyota’s 2026 chart says the Music Lover and Premium plans do not restrict data consumption for Integrated Streaming.

Use Safety Connect or roadside assistance

Press the in-vehicle SOS button and follow the voice prompts. For roadside assistance, Toyota documents this sequence:

  1. Press SOS.
  2. Follow the voice prompts.
  3. Say “Roadside Assistance.”

Toyota Connected Services trial periods are model-specific

One of the easiest ways to misunderstand Toyota’s pricing is to assume every Connected Service uses the same trial clock.

  • Except for Wi-Fi Connect, trials generally begin on the original purchase or lease date of a new vehicle—not when you first install the app.
  • Wi-Fi Connect trials generally begin when the hotspot service is activated or enrolled.
  • When a trial expires, the related service stops unless you enroll in a paid plan.
  • Trial lengths vary by model, model year, trim, and option package.

Examples from Toyota’s current 2026 materials include:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Vehicle Examples of trial terms
2026 Corolla Cross At least five years of Safety Connect and Service Connect; generally one year of Remote Connect and Drive Connect on specified grades; Wi-Fi Connect up to 30 days or 3 GB
2026 Highlander At least five years of Safety Connect and one year of Remote Connect on all grades
2026 C-HR At least five years of Safety Connect and Service Connect; three years of Remote Connect; Wi-Fi Connect for 30 days or 3 GB
2026 GR86 One year of Safety Connect, Service Connect, and Remote Connect; three months of Audio Multimedia

A five- or 10-year Safety Connect or Service Connect trial does not mean Remote Connect lasts that long. These are separate services with separate expiration dates.

Cancellation, automatic renewal, and selling the vehicle

Toyota’s terms contain several details that matter when a trial ends or the vehicle changes hands:

  • Paid plans may automatically renew monthly or annually if auto-renewal is selected.
  • Toyota may require a credit card, debit card, or ACH payment method.
  • Taxes and surcharges are not included in the advertised price.
  • You can request cancellation by calling 800-331-4331; cancellation may also be available in the app.
  • Annual plans generally deactivate around the cancellation-request date.
  • Monthly plans generally remain active until approximately the next renewal date, depending on the vehicle and plan.
  • A subscription is not transferable to another vehicle or another person.
  • Selling the Toyota or ending a lease does not automatically end payment responsibility. The subscriber must cancel.

After cancellation, Toyota says the telematics control module may take several days to deactivate, depending on vehicle connectivity.

Common limitations and failure points

No cellular connection means no dependable connected feature

Connected Services require a functioning telematics device, compatible cellular service, cellular coverage, and GPS. A weak signal, unavailable network, GPS problem, or incompatible 4G technology can delay or prevent remote commands, navigation, roadside assistance, and emergency-response functions.

  • Access live traffic, fuel prices, weather, parking and smart notifications when you pair this navigator with your compatible smartphone running the Garmin Drive app

Toyota also reserves the right to discontinue affected services if the underlying network or technology becomes obsolete. This is one reason a feature that works when the vehicle is new may not be guaranteed forever.

Remote start depends on the vehicle

Do not assume every Toyota supports app-based or key-fob remote start. Transmission type and model-specific equipment matter. Never remotely start a gasoline vehicle in an enclosed space or with a child inside.

Key-fob remote start is not universally free

Older Toyota models have different systems and legacy trial rules. For currently covered vehicles, Toyota’s Remote Connect FAQ says key-fob operation requires an active trial or paid subscription. The idea that key-fob remote start always continues for free after the app trial ends is not reliable.

Wi-Fi Connect is not automatically the best internet option

The hotspot is useful for passengers and multiple devices, but it is an AT&T service with vehicle-specific coverage and device limits. If only one person needs occasional connectivity, a phone hotspot may be simpler. Integrated Streaming also does not include an Apple Music or Amazon Music membership; it connects an existing subscription.

Is Toyota Connected Services worth the money?

Remote Connect is the easiest service to justify

Remote Connect can be worthwhile at the effective $15-per-month bundle price if you regularly precondition the cabin, use remote start, lock or unlock the car remotely, use Digital Key, monitor a teen or guest driver, or frequently need to locate the vehicle.

For an EV or plug-in vehicle with supported charging controls, remote management can also make the subscription more useful. Check the exact capabilities for your model rather than assuming every electrified Toyota offers the same controls.

Drive Connect is harder to justify for many drivers

Go Anywhere costs $15 per month and is mainly paying for Cloud Navigation, Intelligent Assistant, and Destination Assist in addition to Remote Connect. If you already use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for navigation, voice commands, and points of interest, Toyota’s built-in system may not add enough value.

It makes more sense for drivers who prefer the factory navigation interface, want Google Points of Interest data integrated into the vehicle, or value a live agent sending destinations to the car.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Safety Connect is an insurance-style decision

Safety Connect is difficult to evaluate as a direct dollar-for-dollar purchase. Automatic crash notification, SOS assistance, enhanced roadside service, and stolen-vehicle coordination may be valuable in a serious emergency, even if you rarely use them.

  • Driver alerts for things such as school zones, sharp curves and speed changes help encourage safer driving and increase situational awareness
  • Access live traffic, fuel prices, parking, weather and smart notifications when you pair this navigator with your compatible smartphone running the Garmin Drive app

However, drivers who already have roadside assistance through insurance, an auto club, or a credit card should compare coverage, response procedures, and limits before paying for overlapping services.

Service Connect is mostly a convenience

Maintenance reminders and vehicle alerts are useful, but the information is not live. It should not replace the owner’s manual, maintenance schedule, warning-light diagnosis, or an inspection by a qualified technician.

Wi-Fi Connect only makes sense for regular hotspot users

At $25 per month, Wi-Fi Connect is difficult to justify if passengers rarely connect devices or if a phone hotspot already meets your needs. It becomes more practical for families, frequent road trips, and vehicles that routinely serve as a reliable hotspot for several occupants.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A practical way to decide after the free trial

  1. Check the expiration date for each service. Do not use the Safety Connect date as the Remote Connect date.
  2. Review the last month of actual use. Count remote starts, climate preconditioning, navigation use, hotspot connections, and emergency or roadside features.
  3. Keep Remote Connect if you use remote climate, remote start, Digital Key, or driver monitoring often enough to justify $15 per month.
  4. Choose Go Anywhere only if Toyota’s connected navigation and Destination Assist are preferable to your phone.
  5. Choose Premium if you genuinely want both Drive Connect and Integrated Streaming.
  6. Skip Wi-Fi Connect if passengers do not regularly need the hotspot or a phone can do the job.
  7. Check renewal settings before the trial ends so an unwanted subscription does not renew automatically.

FAQ

How much does Toyota Connected Services cost per month?

Toyota’s current U.S. plans list Music Lover at $15 per month, Go Anywhere at $15 per month, and Premium at $25 per month. Wi-Fi Connect is a separate $25-per-month AT&T add-on. Taxes, fees, and surcharges may apply, and vehicle-specific pricing can differ.

Can I pay for Remote Connect by itself?

Toyota’s current plans page does not display a standalone Remote Connect price. Remote Connect is included in the Music Lover, Go Anywhere, and Premium bundles, each of which currently starts at $15 per month.

Does Toyota remote start work after the trial ends?

For currently covered vehicles, Toyota requires an active Remote Connect trial or paid subscription for Remote Connect functions, including supported key-fob operation. Remote-start availability also depends on the vehicle and transmission.

Are Toyota Connected Services worth paying for?

They can be worthwhile if you regularly use remote climate or start, Digital Key, driver monitoring, factory connected navigation, or the hotspot. They are harder to justify if you rely on Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, use a phone hotspot, and already have roadside assistance elsewhere.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Bottom Line

Toyota Connected Services are worth paying for only when a specific feature changes how you use the vehicle. Remote Connect is usually the most useful, but Toyota currently bundles it into a $15-per-month plan rather than listing a standalone price. Drive Connect, Wi-Fi Connect, Safety Connect, and Service Connect are more situational.

Use the included trials, record the separate expiration dates, and check the Toyota app’s actual renewal offer for your vehicle. If you rarely use remote controls, Toyota’s built-in navigation, emergency services, or hotspot, cancel before automatic renewal. If you rely on remote climate, Digital Key, or connected assistance several times a month, the subscription may earn its keep.
