Toyota showed the Century Coupe as a concept exhibit at Japan Mobility Show 2025. It previews how the Century name could become a standalone Japanese luxury brand, but Toyota has not announced production, sales timing or technical specifications.
What Toyota actually showed
The Century Coupe appeared in Toyota’s Century display as a concept model and reference exhibit. The official show catalogue did not identify it as a production vehicle or provide an order schedule. The same display included Century GRMN and tailor-made concepts.
Toyota’s October 29, 2025 newsroom material presented the event as a showcase of future products and brand direction, including the expansion of Century toward a standalone luxury brand.
Where the coupe fits in the Century range
Toyota Times describes three Century body types: the formal sedan, the business-casual SUV and the new coupe. The coupe therefore extends the nameplate rather than replacing either existing format.

Akio Toyoda described Century as “at the pinnacle, a car in a class of its own.” The brand strategy places Japanese craftsmanship and highly tailored ownership above a conventional volume-luxury positioning.
Is the Century Coupe a chauffeur car or a driver’s car?
It is designed to do both, with chauffeur use remaining central. Toyota says the car can serve as a chauffeured vehicle during the week and a driver’s car on weekends.

A three-seat chauffeur layout
The cabin is not a conventional two-seat grand tourer. It has three seats arranged with two seats on the driver’s side—one front and one rear—and one seat on the passenger side. Toyota does not describe this as a standard four- or five-seat arrangement.
Passenger-side access and recline
The passenger side has sliding doors that open to the front and rear. The passenger seat can fully recline, emphasizing rear-passenger-style comfort even though the body is a coupe.

Design details rooted in Japanese craft
Scarlet exterior
The show car uses a fiery scarlet finish inspired by the Asian firebird ho’o, giving the formal Century identity a more expressive visual character.
Materials and detailing
Toyota identifies Edo metal engraving on the emblem and Nishijin-ori brocade for the seat fabric. The partition between driver and passenger is shaped to resemble threads on a loom, connecting the cabin design with Japanese textile craft and Toyota’s manufacturing heritage.

Japan Mobility Show 2025 was held at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo. Toyota Times lists October 30 as the official day, October 31 as the public opening and November 9 as the closing date. Toyota’s newsroom release announcing its presentation was dated October 29, 2025.

What the preview means for buyers
There is currently no verified date on which customers can order a Century Coupe. Toyota has not published a production decision, price or market-by-market availability for this body style. Until a formal sales announcement or production specification appears, the car should be treated as a design and brand preview.
If Toyota advances the project, the meaningful questions will be whether the unusual three-seat chauffeur layout survives, how the coupe balances owner-driving with rear comfort, which powertrain is selected, and whether the model is limited to Japan or offered in additional markets.
