Toyota India’s range page, accessed on 13 October 2026, shows two models with starting ex-showroom prices below ₹9 lakh: the Glanza from ₹6,73,000 and the Urban Cruiser Taisor from ₹7,43,000. Those are advertised entry prices, not on-road totals, and they do not mean every variant costs less than ₹9 lakh. Your city, registration, insurance, taxes, fuel type, transmission and selected equipment can raise the final invoice substantially. For a current quote, use the exact variant and dealer in Toyota’s price-list system and confirm availability before paying a booking amount.
Which Toyota cars are under ₹9 lakh?
Using Toyota India’s current advertised starting prices as the filter, the shortlist contains two cars:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
| Model | Advertised starting price | Body style | Powertrains described by Toyota | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toyota Glanza | ₹6,73,000 ex-showroom (Toyota range page accessed 13 October 2026) | Five-seat hatchback | 1,197 cc petrol with manual or AMT; E-CNG | Lower entry price, compact dimensions and a choice of petrol or CNG |
| Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor | ₹7,43,000 ex-showroom (Toyota range page accessed 13 October 2026) | SUV-styled crossover | 1.2L petrol, E-CNG and 1.0L turbo petrol in Toyota’s 3 April 2024 launch description | Higher-riding SUV shape and broader powertrain choice |
The range-page numbers are model-level “from” prices. Toyota’s price-list interface requires a dealer selection and warns that prices can change without notice. It does not provide a single nationwide on-road figure. Treat ₹6,73,000 and ₹7,43,000 as starting points for comparison, then price the exact grade in your registration city.
What “under ₹9 lakh” means in this guide
Indian car prices are normally quoted ex-showroom. An on-road bill adds road-tax and registration charges, insurance, handling or statutory items shown by the dealer, and any accessories or finance-related charges. The amount varies by state and sometimes by engine or fuel type. Consequently, a car advertised below ₹9 lakh ex-showroom can exceed ₹9 lakh on the road, while a higher trim of the same model may cross the threshold even before registration.

Toyota Glanza: the lower-priced hatchback choice
Engine, fuel and transmission
Toyota describes the Glanza as a five-seat hatchback with a 1,197 cc four-cylinder engine. The product page lists petrol manual and petrol AMT versions, along with an E-CNG option. That gives buyers three practical configurations: a conventional manual petrol, an automated-manual petrol for easier stop-and-go driving, and CNG for drivers whose daily route supports reliable refuelling.
The official technical-specification table identifies E, S, G and V grades. Equipment, transmission availability and fuel choices are grade-specific, so the base price does not tell you which combination is available at ₹6,73,000. Obtain the current variant matrix from the dealer rather than assuming that the cheapest grade includes AMT, CNG or the feature you saw in an advertisement.
Certified efficiency figures
| Glanza configuration | Toyota figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Petrol manual | 22.35 km/l | Certified-condition figure supplied by Toyota |
| Petrol AMT | 22.94 km/l | Certified-condition figure supplied by Toyota |
| E-CNG | 30.61 km/kg | Certified-condition figure supplied by Toyota; the unit is kilograms, not litres |
Toyota says these mileage values are certified under Rule 115 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules in standard test conditions and that actual mileage may vary. Traffic, temperature, tyre pressure, passenger load, air-conditioning use and driving style can all change consumption. Do not use the figures as a promise of owner-observed mileage or as a direct cost comparison without your local petrol and CNG prices.

Features and safety information
The current Glanza product page lists features including a head-up display, 360-degree view camera, smartphone-connected infotainment, rear air-conditioning vents and Toyota i-Connect services. They are not universal-fit features: the grade and optional-equipment list determine what you receive. Match every item to the written quotation.
Toyota’s 2025 Glanza announcement states that six airbags are standard and lists Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Hold Assist and a TECT body structure. The same announcement gives a three-year/100,000 km warranty, extendable to five years/220,000 km, subject to conditions. Confirm the warranty booklet, transfer rules, service requirements and the exact safety equipment on the vehicle being invoiced.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor: the SUV-shaped alternative
Powertrain range
Toyota’s 3 April 2024 launch release describes three powertrain families for the Taisor: a 1.2L petrol, an E-CNG version and a 1.0L turbo petrol. The turbo was described with a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic. This is a wider choice than the Glanza page’s listed petrol manual, petrol AMT and E-CNG combinations, but the current availability and price of each Taisor grade must be checked with a dealer.

These are manufacturer figures published at launch, not independent road-test results. They also belong to a release dated 3 April 2024; they should not be treated as a current quotation or as proof that every present-day trim has the same specification.
Launch prices versus today’s starting price
The 2024 release listed introductory ex-showroom prices of ₹7,73,500 for the E petrol manual and ₹8,71,500 for the E manual CNG. Those amounts are historical launch figures. Toyota’s current range page now displays the Taisor from ₹7,43,000, but it does not establish a current, variant-by-variant price table in the material available for this guide. Do not combine the launch numbers with the current “from” price or assume that either launch grade is still sold at its original amount.
Features and safety information
The launch description included six airbags and Vehicle Stability Control with Hill Hold Assist and rollover mitigation. It also mentioned available equipment such as a head-up display, 360 View Camera, wireless charger and a 9-inch Smartplay Cast system. “Available” means grade-dependent; confirm the present brochure or dealer quotation before treating any item as included.

The table shows why a simple “best value” ranking would be misleading. The Glanza has the lower displayed entry price and a hatchback footprint; the Taisor offers the SUV-shaped design and a turbo option described at launch. The right choice depends on the exact grade, transmission and fuel system you can buy within your city’s on-road limit.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the Glanza when the entry price and compact format come first
- You want the lowest advertised Toyota price in this shortlist.
- A hatchback suits your parking space, commute and typical passenger load.
- You prefer to compare petrol manual, petrol AMT and CNG versions within one model line.
- You want to evaluate connected features or a 360-degree view without moving to an SUV-styled body, provided the selected grade includes them.
Choose the Taisor when the SUV shape or turbo option is the priority
- You prefer the visual form and seating position of an SUV-styled crossover.
- You want to investigate the 1.0L turbo petrol with a manual or automatic transmission as described in Toyota’s launch release.
- You are willing to spend more than the Glanza’s entry price if the chosen Taisor grade’s equipment and on-road quote justify it.
- You can verify current CNG, petrol and turbo availability rather than relying on 2024 launch specifications.
Do not decide from mileage alone
Both models have certified figures for petrol and CNG configurations, but the tests use different units and conditions. CNG figures are in km/kg; petrol figures are in km/l. Compare your expected fuel cost using the local price of each fuel, your monthly distance and the actual grade’s service requirements. A higher certified number does not automatically make one car cheaper to own if its purchase price, insurance or availability differs.

How to calculate a realistic Toyota car under ₹9 lakh budget
- Set the ceiling as an on-road amount. Decide whether ₹9 lakh is your complete registration-day limit or only the ex-showroom target. If it is the complete limit, leave room for registration, insurance and unavoidable charges.
- Select the fuel and transmission first. Ask the dealer for the Glanza petrol MT, petrol AMT or E-CNG quote, or the exact Taisor petrol, CNG or turbo grade. Do not accept a model-level “from” number as a quote for another configuration.
- Request a line-item quotation. It should identify the grade, model year, ex-showroom amount, registration, insurance provider and premium, taxes, accessories, discounts and any finance fees.
- Check the dealer and city. Toyota’s online price-list flow asks you to choose a dealer. Use the dealer that will invoice and register the vehicle because local charges and availability matter.
- Verify included equipment. Tick off airbags, stability control, camera, head-up display, infotainment, charger, rear AC vents and connected services against the written grade specification.
- Confirm warranty terms. For the Glanza, ask how the three-year/100,000 km cover and any extension to five years/220,000 km apply to your vehicle and usage.
- Recheck before payment. Prices can change without notice. Make sure the booking form, quotation and receipt show the same variant, fuel type and transmission.
Common mistakes when shopping in this price band
- Calling the advertised price an on-road price: the ₹6,73,000 and ₹7,43,000 figures exclude city-dependent costs.
- Assuming the cheapest variant has the headline features: Toyota lists features by grade; a base Glanza or Taisor may not include the equipment shown in a premium-trim image.
- Using 2024 Taisor launch prices as current: ₹7,73,500 for the launch E petrol manual and ₹8,71,500 for the launch E CNG are dated figures, not today’s guaranteed prices.
- Mixing Glanza price publications: Toyota’s 2025 announcement cited a feature-upgraded Glanza starting at ₹6.90 lakh ex-showroom, while the current range page displays ₹6,73,000. They refer to different publication moments and should not be averaged or presented as one price history.
- Expecting independent safety or mileage evidence from the official pages: the figures here are Toyota specifications or launch statements. No independent safety-test rating, owner-mileage study or road test is established by these sources.
- Adding accessories before confirming the car: accessories can push an on-road budget higher. Toyota’s Glanza page links to an accessories brochure, but fitment, stock and price for any specific item must be checked with the dealer.
What the official information does—and does not—tell you
Toyota’s own pages are the appropriate source for its advertised prices, stated specifications, warranty announcements and equipment descriptions. They do not, in the information summarized here, establish a nationwide on-road price, city-by-city tax total, current inventory, delivery schedule, independent crash-test result, real-world fuel economy or a complete current Taisor variant price list. Those items require a current dealer quotation or an independent source. Keep that distinction clear when comparing cars or setting a finance amount.

Practical buying checklist
- Record the dealer, city and quotation date.
- Write down the exact model, grade, fuel and transmission.
- Check ex-showroom and on-road totals separately.
- Confirm whether insurance is dealer-provided or independently arranged.
- Match every advertised feature to the selected grade.
- Ask how CNG availability, tank placement and service support apply in your area.
- Confirm warranty duration, kilometre limit and extension conditions.
- Verify that the booking receipt identifies the same variant as the final quotation.
- Reconfirm price and availability immediately before registration.
Bottom line: the best Toyota under ₹9 lakh depends on your real budget
For the lowest advertised entry point, the Glanza is Toyota India’s answer at ₹6,73,000 ex-showroom. It is the hatchback choice and offers petrol manual, petrol AMT and E-CNG configurations on Toyota’s product information. The Taisor starts higher at ₹7,43,000 ex-showroom and is the SUV-styled alternative, with a turbo-petrol option described in Toyota’s 2024 launch release alongside petrol and CNG versions.
Neither starting number proves that your preferred trim will stay below ₹9 lakh on the road. Decide on fuel, transmission and equipment, obtain a city-specific dealer quotation, and compare the complete payable total before choosing between Glanza and Taisor.
