Toyota’s official U.S. sources reviewed do not identify a Toyota bZ5X. They identify the current electric SUV as the Toyota bZ, which replaced the bZ4X name for the 2026 model year. Toyota’s 2027 bZ has a listed starting MSRP of $34,980, but that price and the 314-mile EPA-estimated range apply to specific published details—not to a bZ5X.
Does Toyota make a bZ5X?
The official Toyota U.S. product and newsroom pages reviewed identify the vehicle as the Toyota bZ, not the bZ5X. Toyota said the 2026 model changed its name from bZ4X to bZ in its May 13, 2025 announcement. Its August 4, 2026 announcement identifies the next model year as the 2027 bZ.

If you came looking for a review, photos, or specifications for a bZ5X, first confirm the vehicle’s exact name with the seller or source. The figures below are for the U.S. Toyota bZ and should not be attributed to a bZ5X.
What does the 2027 Toyota bZ cost, and what range is listed?
Toyota’s U.S. product page lists a $34,980 starting MSRP and a 314-mile EPA-estimated range rating for the XLE FWD Plus. The range figure belongs to that named front-wheel-drive configuration; it is not a range claim for every bZ trim or drivetrain. Check the product page and local dealer inventory for current pricing and availability.

Toyota announced the 2027 bZ on August 4, 2026, and said it was expected at Toyota dealerships in September 2026. That was an announced arrival expectation, not confirmation of stock at a particular dealer.
Which 2027 bZ configurations should you compare?
Toyota’s 2027 announcement describes XLE and Limited grades, with each available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Compare the exact grade and drivetrain rather than treating the model name as a single specification. Toyota’s product page specifically associates the 314-mile EPA estimate with the XLE FWD Plus.

Toyota said the 2027 bZ remained unchanged from the prior model year. For 2026, Toyota’s announcement described battery capacity of up to 74.7 kWh and manufacturer-estimated range of up to 314 miles for qualifying configurations. Those are 2026 model-year figures and should not be mixed into a trim comparison without checking the relevant model year and configuration. All figures here are manufacturer-published, not independent test results.

How to verify the vehicle before buying
- Check the exact model name. Compare the listing, window sticker, or vehicle identification information with Toyota’s official U.S. model page. The reviewed Toyota sources use bZ, not bZ5X.
- Match model year, grade, and drivetrain. Confirm whether the vehicle is a 2026 or 2027 bZ, and whether it is XLE or Limited with front- or all-wheel drive.
- Verify the number against that configuration. Toyota’s 314-mile EPA-estimated figure is specifically listed for the XLE FWD Plus. Do not assume it applies to another trim.
- Confirm local price and stock. Toyota’s listed starting MSRP is not a dealer quote or proof that a particular vehicle is available. Ask the dealer for a current, configuration-specific price and inventory status.
